BD1700 reacted to Bald Eagle's Barmy Army in B4 - for ever a Ram 🐏
Ah this is terrible news.
One of my favourite posters of all time.
Even if Derby were in the conference he wouldn’t have been any different.
RIP Daniel xx

BD1700 reacted to angieram in B4 - for ever a Ram 🐏
I have some very sad news this evening. Daniel (B4) died earlier this week. He was just 38.
As you know, he has been battling numerous health conditions for a long time, but always remained cheerful and was the most loyal supporter of his beloved Rams, home and away.
He was at the match at Crewe and gave his full support as always.
Daniel leaves behind a grieving dad, mum and sister. Our thoughts go out to them and we only hope they get a little comfort from knowing how well loved Daniel is by all who know him.
Here are a couple of photos that his dad agreed could be shared. I'm sure many of you have others, as Daniel loved a selfie at the game.
David is hoping to arrange a more fitting tribute in time, but for now please raise a glass in his memory and a good Derby win today. I am sure that's what Daniel would have been doing tonight.

2 year deal, great signing that. The back 5 and keepers are solid, real foundation to build on going forward! 🐏

BD1700 reacted to RebelScum in Jake Brierley Port Vale (H) 08-10-22 Family Request
Hi guys
My nephew, Jake passed away on August 12th aged 23. Despite being dealt a bad hand he enjoyed life to the full possessing a sharp, dry wit and a fondness for dressing well - the other thing we had in common ? was our love for Derby County!
Many of you will recognise Jake, a life-long season ticket holder in the West Stand attending matches with his Dad.
His family are orchestrating a minutes applause at the 23rd minute during the Port Vale home match on Saturday October 8th.
Extended family will be in attendance and there will be a brief write up about Jake in the match day programme.
These tributes are becoming more common, but I think that because they are often not official and fan-led they are even more poignant - and it would be a great gesture for one of our own.
Assistance in spreading the word from members of this forum would be so very much appreciated.

BD1700 reacted to BramcoteRam84 in Paul Warne appointed as Head Coach
Definitely been through a roller coaster of emotions on this during the week. I was extremely disappointed Liam didn’t get the job, even more disappointed they gave it to a League 1 specialist long ball merchant in what I thought was a knee jerk short sighted move.
After a few days of sleeping on it and doing my research into Paul Warne, I remain gutted for Liam and think we’ve lost a good one who could take us all the way to the premier league and I’m sure he will do really well elsewhere. But I have a warm fuzzy feeling about the potential future under Warne.
He isn’t necessarily the long ball merchant I thought, he seems to be someone who adapts to what he has. He’s driven ambitious and I love the fact he’s already talking to key players about wanting to get to the premier league. He’s likeable and will absolutely give his heart and soul to the cause. I hope for his own self preservation he keeps a bit of distance between himself and the club, but I’m not sure that’s really his way. This will be a tough unforgiving gig compared to his previous jobs but he wants to test himself and if he gets it right, he could be a hero and he’s the sort of character that would want to see it through to conclusion on principle and not flutter his eyelids at the next job.
His record at this level is unrivalled and I really look forward to seeing how he gets on.
As for Clowes, I was hasty to compare this to a Mel appointment. He’s given himself time he’s been considered and Warne is the man he clearly thinks will take us to where we want to be. He deserves our backing. Reading the minutes from the supporters meeting I’m really with what’s happening off the field for the first time in years.
Bring it on!!!! ????????

Contract until 2026, his staff joining too, article thanks Rosenior and gives some rationale for decision but doesn’t make it clear if LR is gone.
DET article says LR still on the staff https://www.derbytelegraph.co.uk/sport/football/football-news/breaking-derby-paul-warne-manager-7614044

Unique career to say the least!
What life experiences. Good on him.

BD1700 reacted to StaffsRam in Wayne Rooney
Good luck to him.
At least he went at the right time. If he wasn’t committed then I’m happier that he left when he did rather than midway through recruitment or into the season itself. This way Liam’s been able to pick things straight up and run with them.
Grateful to Rooney for all that he did for us last year. Without the performances on the pitch last season would have been unbearable. As it was we just about got through it all mentally/emotionally.
New season, new ownership, new chapter in our history. Good time for a new broom. I’m delighted we’re giving Liam the chance he deserves.
In the meantime, all the best to Wayne.

What a lovely, lovely thread this is tonight. After everything we've had to put up with. Brings a tear to the eye and makes you think there is some loyalty in football and players like Cashin and Thommo genuinely love this club. Hopefully the brand new signings (Barkhuizen and Wildsmith etc) will come to feel the same.
Derby are back!

I don’t like too see topics locked, prefer to see them drift down the board naturally when they are no longer being discussed.
