Alf got a reaction from Asanovic70 in The Championship 21/22
Been some big changes at Sheff U since Wilder left. He set the club up from tip to top to fall in line with his ethos, so the change in itself may take them some time to adapt to. They've now a load of players at the club who were traditional, out on the piss after a win players, who Wilder unified with that mentality (one of the reason moral suffered with all the pubs & clubs shut). So I'm not so sure they'll be as motivated by the new setup.

Watched the Derby match stream today alongside watching the Trent Rockets smash the Braves. You chaps don't look to have a goal in you. Mel's really screwed you over big time. Makes Fazza look like a genius.

Well they might as well keep dragging pur clubs name through the mud.... Our reputation is already so discredited I think it will make little difference now.
A sad state of a club.

I’ve finally caught up after Rooneys latest schenanigans ?
I’ll give you some credit, your pre season (and season most likely) will be far more interesting and engaging than ours..

Alf reacted to San Fran Van Rams in The ultimate blame
As a mere fan, we have a few ways of influencing the direction of our club. The biggest way is buying tickets to attend games and cheering the lads on. Unless a fan owns a controlling stake, we're consumers of a live entertainment service. We cannot directly influence the actions taken by management, although can shout our displeasure by booing in the stands, holding up home made banners or simply not turning up.
Yes, there is an expectation from fans that your club should do well and that those making the decisions do so in a manner that puts the club in the best possible position in the table. It's not fans fault how management make such decisions as running a football club is not a democracy, and Derby County is not a public share holding. We cannot vote at an AGM. We can only vote with our chants and feet.
Mel is a fan of this club and bought a controlling stake. He invested heavily. He nearly got us into the EPL. However, it is his decisions, and some bad luck, that have also got us to where we are now. No other fan had a say in any of the decisions he or his employed management team made.
My personal opinion on Mel is that he's always operated with the clubs best interests at heart. I believe he still does. That doesn't mean he's made all the right decisions.

Alf reacted to Gringo in The ultimate blame
The ultimate blame lies with the supporters, demanding new players twice a year, demanding seat prices to be lower and demanding promotion to the premiership whatever the cost. So the richest man in Derby has run out of cash and the will to carry on subsidizing a club where a cohort of supporters want him to “walk away now” and to “eff off” but are evidently not prepared to put their own hands in their pockets in any meaningful way. The facts are (for the benefit of corporal dictionary). The wages are being paid as evidenced by no new charges from the EFL, new potential signings do want to join the Rams as evidenced by the quantity of triallists, previous foot balling debts paid evidenced by the removal of that charge by the EFL, but no this is not enough, the fans want see Mel bankrupted all his money gone and living in a cardboard box under a railway arch, the loss of hundreds of millions of his personal money is not enough, he should be made to eff off so the baying rabble shout. My last word is be careful what you wish for you might get it, he or MSD would still own the stadium, wages would not be paid and more than a hundred employees of DCFC would lose their jobs and the club would be liquidated.
Would that give you satisfaction?
cutting ones nose off would appear to be the plastic surgery of choice for most on here.

As far as I am aware Wayne Rooney has no coaching qualifications. Why then is he the Manager of DCFC when there are plenty of more qualified people and more experienced people who are already employed by the club. Mclaren, Rosenior, Wassell and Walker are all better qualified and in all probability would do a better job.
The best thing for the club would be for Wayne to walk away, if this isn’t an option gardening leave is probably the best option.

We have the option of a further year so I'd keep him and hope that our situation is better next summer plus any money raised would not go back into the team and we would have to replace him

Come on lads. We all know you’re desperate.
If the offer of a box of Rogaine for Wayne and a season ticket in the Trent end, you’re probably going to snatch our hand off.

Calm down, we won't sell him to Forest...
... we will sell to Olympiacos

Still find it absolutely incredible that Rooney went with Forsyth over Buchanan last season.

Alf reacted to Ramslad1992 in Lee Buchanan
Let’s be realistic… anything around the £3m mark would be good money with 1 year left on his contract.
so for forest that will be £8m please.
although we will probably sell him to a big club like Burnley for £500k and some new training bibs.

Alf reacted to Kinder in Lee Buchanan
Let’s be honest, we’re going to have to sell one or two players to give us wriggle room. Buchanan is one of our saleable assets, simple as that, so if a reasonable offer comes in for him he’ll be sold. I’d be gutted if he went to F*rest but needs must and we’re flat skint.

Rooney should do one of two things:
1. Tell the world he is lucky to be managing our club and that he is determined to get the best out of our squad whatever its weaknesses
2 resign

Would you prefer to use Simon Jordans words? The cast of the Cantina bar?

To be fair, the ramifications of the Chorley game are pretty funny ?
Mind you, I'd rather try my hand with the kids for next season than waste time with the likes of 40yo Phil Jagielka and Ravel Morrison.. At least the kids are more likely to be there wherever you end up the following season.

Not a chance in hell going for 4.5m that should be chucked out of window ripped up in front of city ground saying no deal you got to do better than that.
