Where's old One Chop and Ram1966 when you need them to bring the mood down?

That list makes me (and others, in sure) reminisce for the 80s. If this time in Div 3 is similar, for those of you who weren't there, buckle up, it's going to be a fun ride!

Nope. Somewhere along the line, there's BS in this!

If Wayne signs a three year contract that will be amazing. Was surprised that he came to Derby , but sticking with us even in League One shows unbelievable commitment . Hopefully that will be an example for the players to stick with us too.

Not being mystic meg, would any other manager have stuck with the club when the going got tough, doubt they would.
Wayne handled the pressure from EFL and serious embargo's, he maintained dignity on and off the field looking after players and all the backroom staff, all the way down the chain including the cleaners, he also got the fans and players together in these trying times and you fans who are able to go to the games, say that it is one of the best seasons they have witnessed, he turned Everton down to stay with Derby, and all the added pressure of the wags court case!
What as he done for Derby hell of a LOT.

He is no more a specialist than anyone else.
He is someone who, somehow, has his opinions listened to more than others.
The fact that the IDC disagreed with his interpretation of the amortisation issue just goes to show that he is just a person with an opinion, that goes to the trouble of analysing accounts.
I really dont see how 'football finance' is an area that anyone can be an expert in, football clubs produce the same accounts as everyone else.

This is bluster. I don't believe you, if you are suggesting that before setting the wolves on us you had an informed view that our interpretation of frs 102 was wrong. It's a highly technical question and your expertise is in a different area. And if you reflect on the LAP judgement, you'll see that a major pillar of the decision was not the technical analysis at all (they were all lawyers). Instead it was the finding that the IDC was wrong in disregarding the EFL's expert evidence, in circumstances where we put none forward.
I can see you might have looked at our accounts and noticed that we were applying an amortisation policy that was different to that applied by the other clubs. This doesn't explain the zeal with which you put us in the cross hairs. And so the inference will be that the whole thing was an exercise in self promotion; or that you chose to damage Morris and by extension, us

100%, it's not complicated, what he's done, he's done. The future is exactly that.

Good post.
Still don't think he deserves freedom of the city, but fair points.

A little cynical but nothing too much wrong with that. For me, the club still exists - That's obviously the most important thing. If it weren't for Rooney galvanising the team, the club and, to a point, the fans/city would those big crowds have happened? Would the protests happened to the extent that they did? Where would be right now?
Throughout the last 18-24 months Rooney is pretty much the only constant outside of the players, he's stood head and shoulders above owners, prospective owners, politicians, the EFL, 'experts''/pundits/journos/ITKs, other clubs' owners and officials. He's pretty much the ONLY person I can think of (outside of players) who is obviously in credit after all of this. So yeah, I'm happy with it.
