So why did they call it the Baseball Ground ?
Thatโs why !
Derby baseball team, English Baseball Champions circa 1898
I believe that is Steve Bloomer back row who played in the team.

Red has always been part of our heritage, we were wearing red and white as our main kit when Steve Bloomer made his debut, red and white were our colours for five seasons then, long before we ever wore black and white, Hector scored plenty of his goals in the red of Derby, Dave Mackay even lead us out as second division champions to play against Millwall in 1969 wearing the red of Millwall, we borrowed QPRs away shirts for a game !
good news is heritage colours are coming back so keep an eye out for a splash of colour !
come on you Redddds

10.6k posts and nothing of any meaningful contribution over the years apart from snipes at others, you are one of the main reasons that I donโt read the forum so much as you are very boring and seem to pop up everywhere with an opinion.
maybe get some other interests in your life and lay off the internet so much ! โค๏ธ

Probably one of the most iconic symbols of a football ground, the turn stile, they all have them and they last for years, mainly until clubs move ground, then they are tossed to one side, so it was a privilege to become the custodian of this original Ellison surge control turnstile dating back to the start of the last century, when you think of the hundreds of thousands of Rams fans that will have passed through it, myself, my dad and my grandad being three it makes you stop and think.
it was there through everything, Bloomer, the FA Cup paraded around the ground, Clough and Taylor, Jim Smith etc, itโs a real snapshot of our clubs history and heritage.
Anyhow, itโs now fully restored in working order with brass keep plate and counter and looks resplendent,
it belongs in an official club museum so Iโm going to keep on endeavouring to get one.
we have a massive Rams Heritage display at Pride Park on the 3rd and 4th June so come along.
