We are thinking of doing an auction of some kind to boost the fundraising... does anyone know who to contact to get some players to sign a shirt or ball etc? I’d of course pay for said shirt or ball... @loweman2you definitely must know a guy? @OwenB557

would absolutely love to connect my love for the rams to this great cause in some way ?

The club have not been signing anything as far as I know for a long time due to covid 19 restrictions on top of that we are now at the end of the season and all of the players and management team will not be back for a while, best to contact the club directly through the SLO and they will advise you of options I think.

  2. A nice collection of DCFC legends that I have got to sign of the players on our travels, some great names here, it has been a real privilege to sit down with them with my Dad and son and talk about their memories of Derby County and the Baseball Ground, never again will we see such talent playing for our football team.

Hector, Durban, McGovern, Powell, Todd, George, Gemmill, Carlin, Boulton, Daniel, Webster, Nish, Walker, O’Hare, Davies, Wignall, McFarland, Hinton.

    also Clough, McKay, Hennessy,

  3. Not added to this thread for a long time but had the pleasure today of meeting up with one of the last legends on the list, Mr David Nish round at his house, took the old man along and had a great chat with “Nishy”about the great days of the 70s, no side to him at all, in fact he spoke more about his love of his allotment than football, he still follows the Rams and like the rest of us is sad to see what is happening, he was a great servant to the club joining straight after the first championship season, went on to play for England and was part of that legendary defence with McFarland and Todd, was our highest transfer fee as well at that time, classy defender who always had time on the ball, was also one of the British mafia who took over the NASL, it was great to see my old man reliving those special memories with him !

@loweman2 I bought a few of these umbro shirts a few weeks ago, in several colours to do exactly the same thing for myself.

Unfortunately as you said the club or umbro don't make or sell the shirts from our best era at the club, as they would sell loads, if they produced retro shirts of our classic 70's shirts and are really missing a trick when trying to make money in the megastore and the like.

Just a shame these ones have the umbro's going around the sleeves, as per the 1974/75 shirt above, but the shirts are still quality, at a quality price.

I also bought a couple of polo shirts in navy blue and sky blue from the old school football shop and ringer shirts to replicate Geoff Barrowcliffe, v Southport home 1949, Jack Parry & Kevin Hector from 1946-68 and even a half and half shirt, to replicate the red and white shirt from 1891 to 95, but unfortunately without a collar.

Regarding replicating the blank white 1971-73 shirt, I haven't made my mind up whether or not to buy a white long sleeve umbro shirt with logo and letters to then pick off, or to just buy a long sleeve fruit of the loom shirt.

I would still love a light blue and dark blue umbro shirt from 1976-79,  a home le coq sporif shirt from 1979, an away osca bass light and dark blue from 1985-87, a yelow third from 1987-89, a yellow third from 1990-91 and yellow third from 1995-97 if anyone has any info on such? @Quangy Kicking myself for not buying the recent retro shirts they had in the megastore of the home le coq sportif or the away osca bass which are now out of stock, but I didn't receive a reply when I contacted the megastore or score draw to see if they would be producing anymore.

Nice one @Inverurie Ram, rather than replicating the shirts we were trying to do a modern take on it, mainly for a new chapter in the book hence including the Umbro tapes on the arm and the wording under the Umbro as it is now, the retro shirts turn up on eBay from time to time but as for the rest of them that you have mentioned they take quite a lot of searching for and cost a pretty penny most from £400/£1000, over the years I have managed to add them, across the world not just in the uk, they do turn up but less and less frequently !

  5. Had a couple of shirts made up using standard Umbro team apparel to mark the achievements of Clough & Taylor and also Dave Mackay, mainly to add a chapter into the book the colours of the Rams if the club and Umbro don’t do something.

we used the basic template matching the 1971/72 shirt and the style of the charity shield shirt badge, on the second shirt we went for the blue and white and the Umbro tapes on the cuffs, both finished off with the blood red no 10 as a nod to the king, also used the Derby County font for the wording.

the cost of these shirts from Umbro was £11.

we then added our design, can’t sell them due obviously to copyright infringement but would be nice if the club could do something similar.

    Hi All,

First post here, first of all I’m delighted to find I’d already registered an account in my younger years (not sure if I’d have chosen a different username now anyway).

I’ve recently tried to start building my own collection of current or ex DCFC player match worn shirts - but from when they were NOT at DCFC. I wondered if anyone had any they wouldn’t mind parting with (would pay).

Having started to look for some this week for a new home bar, I currently have a Colin Kazim Richards 2011 Olympiakos, a 2002 Benito Carbone Como Shirt, and I have a Cocu Barca shirt on the way.

Would welcome any suggestions on how I could track down more!

    cheers!
