NottsRam reacted to Carl Sagan in Derby v Stevenage FC - Match Day Thread
For the Warne thread I suppose, but as I've said before, 90-95% of managers would have us in a better position. With no striker, Warne benches our most dangerous attacking midfielder? He got lucky.

I've watched the first three episodes of second season of Kin
I've no issues with dialogue, having lived in Ireland for 20 years
Bren has certainly livened it up 😀

Yes, season three is disappointing me a bit but only because of the high standards set by 1 and 2. Not enough to stop me enjoying it though.

I'm about half way through season 4 of Love/Hate. Thanks to @Bob The Badger for the recommendation!
Think I already said this, but....
absolutely loved seasons one and two. Couldn't fault it. Really didn't like season three. A few reasons. I hated the storyline with Siobhan. Wish the writing just hadn't gone that way. Hated what happens with Tommy. Hated the fact that they even brought 'the Ra' into the story, and none of those characters worked for me. Didn't like the way the show just seemed to forget about their private life. For example, I'm pretty sure in the first two episodes of season 3, Nidge doesn't go home. He doesn't call home. Trish doesn't even get mentioned. If you joined the show at that point, you wouldn't know he had a family.
Anyway.......season four has improved on three, but I'm not sure any of it from here, is going to match 1 and 2.

Also Warne Haters: 'We should have signed more players'

based on recommendations in this thread, me and the GF have watched Love/Hate over the last month or so.
Thoroughly enjoyed it, some great characters. Sadly some written out in first 2 seasons.
Underlying feeling is that the writers had to wrap it all up in the last episode or two and it felt a little rushed and the show deserved better.
Still a cracker though

I looked at Reading's website this morning. They have sold full allocation of 2,000 at Portsmouth.

I would very much doubt it unfortunately. It does seem possible to buy home tickets though if interested.

Didn’t have much sympathy for any of our players for their offsides in the first half, but it was a shame the east stand Lino’s sharp eye deserted him in time for their equaliser

NottsRam reacted to YorkshireRam in Anything positive to take from yesterday moving forwards?
Except Warne said in his post-match presser he told the team to push for a 2nd goal. If the players began to play with trepidation at fear of conceding and this is all after half-time, what exactly is Warne supposed to do? In fairness, you could even argue his subs were attacking- which has been the main criticism of Warne from Saturday and you're saying the exact opposite...
This is the type of comment that irks me, because I cannot see how you've possibly completely absolved the players of responsibility there, and just blamed Warne. It makes no sense...?

I know its had a few mentions before but for anyone who likes gangland crime drama, Love/Hate is a must. I liked Kin but this is just wow, and 5 seasons to watch.

Finally got around to Mr Bates versus the Post Office.
My sister said it was brilliant and would work as a standalone drama
I disagree. The only thing that made it interesting was the fact it actually happened, and Alan Bates is still fighting.
I think if I hadn't known the story, I'd have loved it, but it was just okay to me.
Watching True Detective (I hadn't realised it was being drip fed so had a shock last night when we caught up).
It's pretty good, but I really don't like Jodie Foster as an actor; I just cannot warm up to her. The same goes for the other cop working with her, she scares me.
I find it really hard to love something when I dislike the characters and they have no screen charm/charisma. For example, Nidge in Love/Hate was a lunatic, but his character was charismatic and super complex. The same went for Ginny in Gomorrah and Sully in Top Boy.
Jodie Foster is a great actor, but I don't find her at all compelling like say, Kate Winslett is.

My favourite series since Top Boy, probably better than Kin. Hence, I've flogged that dead horse down to the bare bones and then eaten the bones.

They were my thoughts exactly on Saturday. Think it was Wolves away(?) excellent debut followed by several performances that left me wondering if he had ever played before!

To be fair, Adams doesn't seem like the kind of guy who gets pissed and decides to sleep it off in the middle lane of the M1......

As a non away member it might be a close call, managed to get some last season when there was no season ticket holder window so hoping to get lucky again for this one.

Splendid news. And for the people in here (maybe just you and me @ketteringram ) who are upstanding, decent, respectable and honest citizens who don't brazenly and outrageously steal their TV from the poor, impoverished and defenceless TV stations, and haven't seen it already, here is the trailer.

Finally finished Love/Hate last night - utterly outstanding with a great ending.
Choice now of the latest Fargo or True Detective or Mr Bates v The Post Office.
What order would you lot have those three in if you've seen them all?
