To be honest Pearson told it like it was in interview ' if I had 11 Craig Brysons this club would be top,  the players at the club aren't as good as they think they are or aren't willing to show the correct application.  24 HRs later the storming of the citadel lead by Captain Keogh and his removal.

Not as biased as me. The EFL were the bad guys a long time before then for me. Charging us for the stadium sale and leaking to the press about how they had got an independent valuer.

Well that’s ridiculous to say really isn’t it AFTER the event.

Helicopters are clearly more dangerous than planes but how many helicopters operate a day without incident?

We’d been doing it for years on the Remembrance Fixture with the RAF delivering the match ball
Watching it back now, yeah it makes me cringe, but I don’t think many thought of it like that at the time

Not to mention their chairman risking the lives of thousands of fans by flying a ducking helicopter into a full stadium.
I always find it strange how he's remembered so well when his pointless extravagance got himself and 4 others killed.

And winning the Premier league title, FA Cup, qualifying for Champions league, building a £100M training ground, paying ALL of their staff during the lockdown including part-time staff and getting them to work in the community. Preparing plans for a major increase in capacity. Attracting top signings and being able to move players on for significant fees. I think they are doing OK. ?

Well ran? Leicester have lost £90m in the last two years. How can they be well ran?
When the owner decides he no longer wants to keep paying that to keep the club running (because it will happen at some point), as ours now has, are they still well ran?

The signing of the two Polish players has still been balanced by transfer fees incoming over the past two years that are higher and definitely didn’t mean we were headed for admin

I cannot defend the silly wages that we were paid at the height of our spending. Paying £2m a year in wages to workaday Championship players is just silly.
It was the wAge bill that caused the big losses … and that has come down massively.

So all fine to criticise Mel for his poor judgement in spending money. But that didn’t cause us to go into admin.

I don't say £20 million is the loss to Derby County due to COVID. I say that is the lost revenue during the period until the stadium reopened to fans in august 2021. Add on lost revenue for 2021-22 of maybe another £5 million to £10 million due to vulnerable fans staying away, loss of Corporate jollies, events  and discretionary hospitality etc.
Then how much more could we have got for Jayden Bogle at pre COVID valuations, maybe £5 million more. Or Morgan Whittaker maybe £2 million more. Or players who left at  end of contracts for nothing because we couldn't afford to keep them.

I don't really want to think about the effects on player valuations of people who are still at the club, as I hope we don't find out in January. But even if you ignore the effect of COVID on the saleability of the club and the threat to the club's very existence, you are probably talking, with a further significant loss due to player valuations plunging,  at total losses due to COVID close to maybe 80% to 90% of the £60 million of hard debt we are reported to have.

Rather bizarrely, Harry kane quoted after the match as saying "we showed the world what we are capable of".
Really? It was an Albania side missing a couple of of their key players who had to make a couple of changes in the first 11 minutes.
And they tried to play with their weakened side rather than stick 10 men behind the ball which played right into our hands. Witness what happened in 2nd half when they went more defensive.
So I doubt the world will be quaking.

The Derby County fantasy of playing in League 1 just so you can get to go to "proper football grounds" is very strange. Honestly blows my mind that anyone could think of anything positive to playing League 1 football.
Why aren't we angry that this has happened to our club?
We've slated past players for being "spineless". Our fans seem just the same, we've just rolled over and let the people who have done this walk out the front door with a goody bag.

One of the best seasons ever for going away, was that promotion campaign under Arthur.
Still remember besides the football, trips to the likes of York, can’t remember nothing about the game in truth, just being shunted into the station after the game, the coppers deciding to treat us like animals, so we behaved like it back. Several hundred baa, baa’s as they herded us through onto the train, with the end result of the old station doors hanging off the hinges and everyone pi$$ing themselves as the train left the station.
Football supporting was bloody fun being the biggest club in the league, taking over stadiums (if you could call some that, who remembers the many away ends that were just open concrete terraces), out-singing locals, none of the premier league trappings.
    Next year could be fun.
