I think momentum is so important in football. Last time we crawled out of the third tier under Arthur, we won the league the next season and went straight into the top flight. Look at Ipswich this season, top of League One and full-on competing for promotion, while Wednesday and Argyle didn't maintain their momentum and may very well come back down.
If we go up, and if the mindset is then just to survive for a year, we will likely be relegated.

Paul Warne has said we'll be going for the win as we intend to in every single game. The man doesn't do draws

I still think 3 wins will do it. I think some of us forget it's really a 4 point gap because of our superior goal difference. I think Bolton will need 91 points to finish 2nd. They need 13 points out of 15 to reach it. I'll be amazed if they do it, they're lacking the  consistency, even more than us.
If we get 3 wins and a draw, Bolton would have to win every game to overtake us. The odds are massively in our favour. A defeat against Pompey wouldn't be a complete disaster but we really need to try and gain at least a point if possible.

I think we shared the record for longest stay in the championship too. Along with Forest. So if we can share a bit of their fortune, form, whatever and follow their trajectory, that would be nice. 

Yes they hold the record along with us.
We've both reached the playoffs a record eight times and only been promoted once each. They've only reached the final once though.
I'd say we're both due a bit of success.

Good job the arsenal manager wasn't the aggressor his career would be over and probably be a police investigation 

To be fair I think the crux is that with spend , budget and squad LR is not over performing or setting the world alight , seems a lot of draws and not a great goal difference, I like the bloke but in fairness wasn’t enthused by the football we played under him though short period , lots seem to think warne is only scraping the bare min from our squad and LR would be getting far more but reality is the jury is still out on what LR will achieve as a manager 

I’d be very interested to know what their wage budget is for this season and reckon it would be around the figures you’re quoting for top 6.
However - £23.6m being 14th highest wage bill and £35.9m being 7th highest is frightening!! When Mel was going mad overpaying our wage bill was £45m so not much more. Just shows we’ve got it all on to compete when we do get back to the championship. Hopefully being leaner with a couple of astute signings, clever use of loan market and a couple of academy players able to make the step up at the right time will give us a chance. 

Worry not. They’ll both be resting/protecting players for the play offs by then. 😀

I don't think sitting back on a 1-0 lead is the way Warne wants to play. I think from what we've heard from the man himself it's clear what he wants to do. High energy, high press, attacking football. And I think when we get some younger more 'athletic' players in, we will see that. He's hinted at it a lot this season. 

Wouldn't have been cheaper to blow up his bakery?
