What's the bet on Ashley buying the club after liquidation, don't think he is interested in the club, more the ground

He may play the waiting game but as you say he will offer minimal amount but have you considered that they have been offered 35% over 3 years by one bidder,if other bidders don't offer the same to creditors they may just tell him to go away, don't think for a minute it is cut and dried. It may be a leave it scenario.

Makes no difference, Quantuma at present are in charge of the club.If Ashley wants to make an offer he has to go through the administrators. The EFL cannot interfere in the outcome of who takes over the club.

No doubt he has the money to write a cheque today but if he wants to pay the creditors way below the 25p then the administrators have to go back to the creditors to accept it or not,it is not just a case of accepting his offer no matter how much spouting off he is doing in the media.

No doubt MA is used to getting his way when buying distressed businesses from administrators but this time it isn't working so he is using the media to stir things up.

massively exceed that! There's at least another 300 posts asking why Chelsea funds got through anti money laundering checks so easy. Then another 2000 posts claiming Mike Ashley has tried to put in a proper bid.

An assumption in a tweet doesn’t mean it’s necessarily true. My guess is that, despite any dislike Mel may have of MA (do we actually know he doesn’t like the guy?) and his own ego, Mel probably just wants to get shot of the whole thing. Given he entertained the fake sheikh, I don’t think he would now be blocking any deal out of spite. If he’s unhappy with the amount being offered to creditors by MA well he may not be the only creditor feeling like that. For example, surely HMRC are the key player.

We know Mike Ashley has money.
We do not know how much of it he is offering to give to Q/creditors.
The £28 was what someone txt to ed Dawes on air during sportscene the other night - clearly to imply that £28 was Ashley's offer but that may not be the figure on Q's desk. Not to mention the *many* aspects of the agreement.

Once again, for those at the back...

Ashley is going (via people he knows) via the media - e.g. someone texts ed Dawes that Ashley has £28m in an account ready to go.
If he'd given Quantuma a written offer that was as good as CKs or a written agreement to purchase under the same agreement as cK made, they'd talk to him.
So far as we know, he made an offer below the others and hasn't improved it.
Q don't give a toss about DCFC, they're wanting themselves paid and creditors paid and have to go down the list of what's been put in writing as the offer to them.
What team big Mike say to journos and what contractual and financial documents he puts to Quantuma may not be exactly consistent.

I don’t get why he would be going through the EFL (I’ve probably missed a few relevant posts)? It’s not in their gift to either sell the club or gain agreement from the creditors.

How many sodding times do we have to go round this? If the admins were making decisions based on what the previous owner wanted, to the detriment of the clubs creditors, they would be breaking the law and at risk of losing their licenses to perform their jobs. They aren’t risking that.

Me too, though we shouldn't get too attached to any potential owner. I'm just glad it seems we have multiple credible options, plenty of clubs wouldn't.

It is not a case of "fiddling with it", if MA makes an offer to the creditors which is lower than that accepted under CK's offer then the administrators are legally bound to go back to the creditors to see if they will accept it. Whoever,if it comes to it, will not get a new deal over the line in a matter of days unless it is the same offer to the creditors as CK's.
