MSD or the so called well healed local businessmen who are supposedly happy to fund until a takeover

The well heeled businessmen might be very wary of funding the club, at this time there doesn't seem to be a credible bid on the table. Come March if we are still in the same situation then our time in administration comes to an end and they have lost all their money

Could it be Quantuma playing a dangerous and desperate game of putting false information in the public domain to try and panic other would be buyers to up their bids

Don't think other would be buyers would up their offers by any statement Quantuma release, they will only bid what they think the club is worth.

I think there is a fear to put season tickets on sale at the moment from Q, in case the league don't allow us to participate next season. The longer we go without season tickets on sale, the more precarious our situation becomes as it becomes easier for the league to not allow us to start the season.

The administrators haven't exactly given confidence on their ability to put them on sale either. I also feel like there will be a situation this week where the league produce two sets of fixtures - one with Derby County and one without. Again, putting ourselves in a much more worrying, precarious situation. I just don't think they have an alternative as it stands.

I think, just my opinion only, that if the administrators can't provide proof of funding to see us through the season or at the very least can confirm that the negotiations will ensure funding will be in place at the start of the season then the EFL will take the step very soon none of us want to see. They are not going to produce a fixture list  then have to start all over again.

    Frustrated Head GIF

We currnetly have 15 players on professional contracts for next season. A further 8 players under 24 have been offered contract extensions. We then have 15 2nd year scholars, and a number of 1st year scholars due to be announced.

We may struggle to field a competitive team on a regular basis, but we will have no trouble fielding a team next season.

At this time i think it's more about funding next season than the squad.

The potential buyers are not stupid, they will know roughly what the amounts would be. Also, they will probably know what CK bid and may pitch slightly under there. There is a real deadline coming up soon with pre season and thin squad so I guess this side of conversation needs to have already happened

    What conversation?

  6. 3 minutes ago, TheresOnlyWanChope said:

What’s the point in offering something that wouldn’t be adequate to exit administration? There will have been discussions that say X is the minimum needed or something similar. A buyer will have to pay creditors an acceptable amount in order to preserve Derby playing football.

The administrators won't have been in discussions with anyone to say what the minimum is, if they did that nobody would bid above it.

It is up to potential buyers to bid what they think it is worth but that may not be enough.

Why isn't it? It could be.

What are those conditions then? Are you saying that Appleby's bid doesn't meet them - or as is more likely it isn't enough for some!?

I've no idea whether Appleby's bid meets them or not, only the administrators know that but there is a legal minimal amount that the administrators can accept. If you go back and look at Quantama's statement from last Friday/Saturday (10th/11th) they stated that a bidder had not bid enough to meet the requirement for the club to exit administration

Yes, it will finally move this whole mess into an endgame as I don't believe Quantuma will be able to prove they could convince MSD to loan the club money for majority of 22/23 season. They have been content to lend money month to month whilst a deal was close but demonstrating that facility for 9 months is entirely different. Without that threat from the EFL, I fully believe this 'buying process' would continue to drift.

What we don't know is what that EFL deadline is but it will force Quantuma to accept the best offer on the table. I fully expect them to leave it to the last possible moment though.

That is what people are not getting, if the best offer on the table doesn't meet the requirements of exiting administration then the administrators can't accept it.

@angieram have the Supporters Groups been in touch with Q regarding raising funds recently? I know from your earlier reply they’re not exactly forthcoming with info about admin and takeover, which isn’t ideal but not much can be done as mentioned before regarding NDAs and GDPR, is it feasible to approach them with ideas for raising capital? If Q need to evidence funding for the season and the EFL are so keen to help us survive, can Q and EFL work out a mechanic for season tickets? Or half season tickets? I know gofundmes and the like were mentioned before, get them to do a commercial transaction of some sort instead, raffle off Rammie’s head/Rooney’s boxers/blades of grass….something that can go through the club’s “tills” to generate some funds with fans able to contribute directly in the current absence of match days/kits etc

Maybe raffle off a corporate box for a season or something. There must be other options to contribute to the funds the club needs other than more debt

I would have thought that whilst we are in administration any money raised will go towards servicing the debt.

It's not the EFL this time, it's Q not being able to accept or want to accept low bids. Who stands to lose their money if there are only low bids - Mel and Q mostly!

It may well be the former @RoyMac5 with the bids not being high enough, we don't have a clue who has bid what, if at all. All we have is the media pontificating that bidders X Y & Z have offered this, that and the other.

And we sink deeper and deeper into the mire of debt, Players will be off quicker than Boris Johnsons back benchers

Can't blame them , however much they may want to stay they will be getting more concerned about their futures as each day passes and the security of next season gets further and further away.

We will compete next season - I think we would have been kicked out by now if the EFL really thought we couldn’t. Q will secure funding from somewhere or confirm the bidder before the start of the season IMO - while there are a number of bidders at the table - we don’t have to worry about liquidation.

With multiple bidders the only way the process will be quicker is when someone sets a hard deadline that has to be met - ie if the EFL came out and said Q needs to accept a bid by xx date or we are gone not Q saying send your best bid by Wednesday at 2. All bidders are pushing this to the end now to get the cheapest deal. Not easy for us fans but it’s just how it will be.

Not so sure about that, the EFL haven't had to worry about the administrators finding a buyer as it hasn't impacted on the league but now the fixtures are released next week and we have not made any progress. If the administrators had already provided the EFL proof that funding is in place then they wouldn't be so concerned.

We can stay in admin for as long as we like, but Birch is saying we need to show we will  get out of admin on or before March 2023, or presumably the implied threat is that EFL will expel us sooner rather than later.  How  are we supposed to do that (ie show , before start of season that we will  get out before March 2023) , unless someone buys us before start of season. SO really isn't the March 2023 date irrelevant?

At this present time if true what Quantuma have stated regarding taking a loan out to pay Junes wages it gives the EFL more of a call that we cannot show proof that the upcoming season can be financed. Last season was different as we entered administration after the season had started and we went from month to month raising the funds, this season that won't be an option.

  14. 4 hours ago, DCFC1388 said:

Surely if there is no takeover done by Tues the admins need to secure funding for the rest of the season, at least that way we can start to build pur squad within the framework of the finances for the season.

I dont see a further loan putting off bidders as if it was that much of a concern they would bid enough now. Also, they would have covered the cost of the season themselves anyway so any loan would be what they would have already paid, maybe just with abit of interest on top which imo they deserve to pay for making this drag out and not just bidding.

If they take another loan out all it is doing is adding debt on to debt therefore the bidders will have to pay more to get the club out of administration, it seems like the debt is already too high.

I have seen efl want to speak to other bidders but Q are blocking them doing just that.

If that is the case surely efl can go to the FA and say we need your help.

The administrators are not doing anything of the sort, there is a judicial process that has to be followed and the EFL cannot interfere with that.

The difference is those clubs are not in administration and at this time are a going concern.

If Q try and sell the Club without the approval of the EFL and they remove our Golden share. it is everything to do with them.

Yes i agree but only after the administrators have come to an agreement with bidders and creditors, it then goes to the EFL to be rubber stamped, they cannot get involved in the administration process.
