But has a Derby postcode and 01332 area code. It's a Derby town in reality but agreed, technically Leicestershire.

I read on the DT that we have scored more away goals than any other team in the top four divisions. As it's from the DT I'm a bit dubious -- anywhere we can look at stats like this?

They likely took it from the pre-match interview. Owen Bradley @Owen87ITKasks Warne about it.

Seems to be 50/50 now. See plenty of forest shirts out and about, obviously relishing the fact they finally have a bit of relevance again (and probably deluded, thinking they live in Nottingham), but also see plenty of Derby shirts -- a surprising number out and about at LE Carnival last week.

Truly fantastic support. Pretty sure we've sold more season tickets than forest's average home attendance last time they were down here

When I worked in Beeston and had stopped driving for 18 months, I worked out it was cheaper for me to get a season ticket to East Midlands Parkway from Long Eaton rather than Long Eaton to Beeston. The golden detail was that to get to East Midlands Parkway I had to go via Beeston in order to change there. No rules at all stopping me from getting off the train at Beeston and simply not completing the journey! I used to spend less than £40 a month.

Playing a dejected forest side who who tried really hard against a liverpool side who were also trying really hard to give forest something and still failed who know the drop is coming, who know the manager is only still there because the owner couldn't get anyone good to take on the job....but forest's squad of committed players who are 100% revising the "ship emergancy escape plan" documents will ultimatly be the difference as the silent, pink, faded seats bare witness to the dieing embers of the hopes and dreams of the gumpen hoards.

They played a good team against us and it showed. Forrest fan at work said they showed us too much respect, but to me they fielded a fairly strong side and wanted to win the game.
Considering we weren't 'full strength' I thought we played well but unfortunately were outclassed by a better team. There were real positive moments and strengths, though which were great to see.
I'm glad we're out. Continue with the run of success in the league and focus purely on promotion.

Exactly how I heard it. Very pro-West Ham naturally, but of course the punditry included a former player. When two teams in different divisions are pitted against each other and one is favourite, the commentary always leans one way. They loved mentioning the 1975 league win.

Don't know if it's already been posted on here, but there are a couple of golden videos on YouTube.
One was originally filmed in 1991 when he was commentating on a home game of Derby vs. Spurs. On video he openly states (while still Forest manager) that the "greatest days of my (his) managerial career" were while at Derby!
There's also another video from around the same era where he quite firmly states "I'm a Derby man!".

Yeah, that's not to say we should be salty about anything they come out with now. Just have to make the most of the scraps to get our laughs right now.
Roles reversed, we would be giving them some right pelters.
We've had our days being on top, now it's their turn, we'll be back though and have our day again.

I wouldn't even bring it up, but the gumps I work with are gloating after their 0-1 win over Southampton and their pummeling of Wolves after penalties. They're quick to tell me "you sheep are only getting 25k at home, where's your support", conveniently forgetting their average at L1 peaked at 19k.
Even during our fantastically poor 07/08 season we never got less than 30k at home.
Those figures aren't history, they're comparisons of how two clubs' fans react!

Beating Southampton 1-0 doesn’t necessarily mean they’re ready to shoot up the league.
this is perfect really. They’ll spend a s*** load on January thinking just a little bit more quality will see them safe. Then they’ll implode and go down anyway, being in twice as much debt.

Back to work today in Strell-eh (post bit of Nottin'um) and seemingly the biggest achievement so far this year is surpassing their rivals' last PL points tally. Since August, I've not seen the gumps showing this level of excitement. Oh and Lingard is now a "top signing".

How long had Sportscene been going?
My childhood memories are full of Saturdays either at home or out walking in Derbyshire with Dad having one earphone in listening to the match (in fact I still have the same pocket radio and take it out). Now in my early 30s, I have it on most games if I'm not at PP and it's been the sound of our Satruday afternoon kitchen for years now. I now have a six-month-old and I wanted him to grow up listening to it, too!
Unsure if I buck the trend, but I don't really do streaming -- I find it far easier just to flick the radio on without having to create an account for a radio station.

I'm not sure how a codified constitution could have avoided some of the major political problems we now face such as a failing health service, a creaking education system, high energy prices, wage stagnation and out of control housing prices. Constitutions usually set up the arrangements of how a political system functions, what powers each branch has, the potential for overlap etc. rather than dictating specific policy decisions. Even if you'd had a stronger separation of powers built into the system many of the results I think would have been the same or even worse as they arrive from a lack of action as opposed to overbearing executive control. Maybe voting reform would have helped ameliorate some of those issues but that is a technically different kind of question from constitutional overhauls.
If you're thinking more about legislative scrutiny am not necessarily convinced constitutional reform would be very effective either. Isabel Hardmann wrote a really good book called 'why we get the wrong politicians' highlighting a lot of the problems few of which are related to the constitution. Rather a potent mix of culture, selection, ambition, incompetence and goodwill create a pool in which bad legislation gets passed without sufficient scrutiny, albeit beefed up select committees have helped on this front a little. Again, there are areas where you could envisage constitutional change maybe making a dent into some of these problems but they would still exist even with significant reform.

There are better times and worse times, better times being when you're not staring an economic crisis in the face, a state machine still recovering from the pandemic and Brexit (if it has even recovered) and adapting to over a decade of austerity. The ideal time would have been between 1999-2003 tbh. If Blair had pushed more strongly on the Lords reform and committed to more wholesale wide-ranging reform then I'd have been much more confident that was a good time. Opening up this debate would be politically toxic and institutionally I doubt we really have the capacity to manage it currently.

I think it would offer a good opportunity to finally have a written constitution and a bill of rights!
I despise them, what they stand for and everything they have done throughout history to trample on the labouring classes.
