I felt a bit of duty to watch it. Both men a complete mess at one time or other and we're there paying them to smash each others head in! The stuff they went through! I already watched a lot in the past about Mike Tyson but I forget just what a fascinating and scary guy he was.

Football football football is slowly dying for me, Derby-Forest games were the 2 matches i'd look for when the fixtures are released, You pencil both the games into your memory and it's stuck there.
Without fans for me it just becomes a big friendly game, Football over the years had taken the fans for granted, Chuck the chickfeed down and we'd feed on it, We were seen as a cash cow then thrown away like a used fast food take away wrapper, Now with Covid those with influence in the game realise...we count.
It's not just the East Mids Derby, It's the Liverpool-Everton, Man City-Man Untd, Aresenal-Spurs, Rangers-Celtic, Brighton-Palace and others that without us are as plastic as a Londoner supporting Man City.
    VAR aint helped either 😡👎

Incredible commentator's insight into Gregory's style of play.

    He's a striker, lads.

Staffies are beautiful animals. They are prone to being dog aggressive sometimes when they get past puppyhood because of their breeding so need socialising as pups then they're 💚💛🧡. You can usually look to the owner to find the cause of a dog's bad behaviour.
Dunno about pit bulls though. I think bull breeds have generally attracted absolute dill hole owners.

    Gamesmanship = cheating.
That's why we have a game where two grown men can put their heads together and the one who makes any sort of forward movement is sent off for a "headbutt" and we all say "you can't do that" while the "victim" rolls around on the floor holding his face like it's fallen off.
Gamesmanship is the name football gave it to excuse childish behaviour and cheating.

I've fell out of love with football but it's due to play acting, diving, pundits and general analysis, that you can be punished for bringing the game into disrepute when that game is full of such pathetic behaviour that's accepted.
I can't be doing with the stupid logic that you can be booked for taking a shirt off, that you can't "raise your hands". I hate "was there definite contact" or "excessive force"
I can't watch men in their 20's and 30's look like they're going to fight and then run to a referee to complain.
I hate VAR and how referees milk the 5 minutes of fame on it.
I hate football and it's political statements the bs idea that it has a good image to upheld.
And then there's your fans and social media that turn into such pathetic humans. They call every player a Bamford and cry when they get some back. They want players gone but demand loyalty. They spend fortunes and then cry about money in the game. They are a reflection of the giant whinging babies that play the poo game.
I keep an eye on Derby but I've not watched a match in a while. I don't watch highlights or anything. I used to be really active on here but I just don't like football anymore. The actual game I like and I could watch that on the park. But professional football I find repulsive with all the ironic, pampered, fake, self indulgent ******** you have to digest with it.

I wanted Kelly to win but can't deny watching somebody come in to play a role and them tearing up the script is quite satisfying.
I completely agree about Kelly too. Might have to knuckle down and earn those world titles rather than expect them to land in his lap. Some fighters out there aren't going to be easily frustrated about chasing shadows. They're experienced enough to battle through and wait for an opportunity.
This is what makes me laugh about Povetkin. He's always seen as some hard nut that's not serious about winning world titles and has had his day in the sun. How many times does he have to prove he's there to win and has as much heart as any young lion.
If Whyte doesn't fight the best fight of his career he will get done again imo

How times have changed number 959 - if a player celebrates a goal scored against a former club nowadays they get hung drawn and quartered for disrespecting former employers/fans etc

Excellent posts @Alpha though I would suggest you do the lower leagues a disservice where I think there are many many genuine hard working players. I totally relate to your views re Premier.

I think this was another of those fights that was seen as a foregone conclusion but as you pointed out, the old warrior hadn't read the script. Kelly is young and perhaps there's still a big career ahead for him, but he needs to understand that trying to box like Prince Naseem only makes sense you you have BOTH his speed and his power. I'm far from convinced Kelly has either. He needs to focus on the basics for me and try to be the best version of himself he can be, not a facsimile of someone else.
As for Avanesyan, he's earned himself another decent pot somewhere in the future and I have to say his after-fight presser was absolutely joyous. Try watching this without smiling 😆

Wasn't meant to happen was it? It was meant to be a name on his record of a guy that's big enough to boost your rep but old enough to get dragged around the ring by a young bull
These old ones aren't always ready to bow out when the going gets tough

People suffer all kinds of personal problems that may effect their work. But the world doesn't stop for you. Some trades are more supportive than others.
Judging Tom Lawrence performances over 4 years shouldn't be effected by what personal issues he's had. That's a separate topic.
Would you accept my poo plastering if I was having personal problems? I'd expect not. Would shame be upon you if you didn't accept my work?
Balancing work and personal life is a stressful thing. But we all have to do it and not mix the two because they do not mix with good results.

Way to solve it....new law referees MUST book a player if they swear/insult the ref. Maybe one warning, maybe none. You will probably never stop the moaning, it is a passionate sport but bad language/behaviour is instantly punished. Or / in addition, give the option to the opposition to move the free kick 10 yards forward, I think this was trialled before?  Same for persistent diving/time wasting etc.
