We were always going to get this with Dobbin. It’s his first taste of mens football. It’s not like most of the Championship loans we’ve had, they have usually played mens football at some level before coming to us. I said at the start of the season we’ll know if he’s any good in the second half of the season. 
He’s coming up against seasoned pros, who are going to do things to him that under 21 full back that’s probably won’t go on to play pro football won’t. 
First half of the season was to get him accustomed to the league, second half is to become a nailed on starter every week.

If we were looking at this without previous experience of him being here. I think we’d probably look at him as a player that adds good depth to the squad. As we know him so well, he’ll polarise opinion. 
I don’t particularly like going back for players. They rarely work out. In fairness I do think he will score goals at this level though, and I wouldn’t like him going to a promotion rival.

I personally think League one is about right for Bolton. 

Probably one player who is impossible to replace without spending money.

He’s played really well there, and improving every week. He’s actually turning out to be a good balance of defensive capability plus attacking threat. I think he’ll see the season out there if he carries on as he is.
