I can't. It's not exactly inspiring. Why do we always sign journeyman strikers? Can't we get in someone a bit younger with a bit of pace?

I still say Macauley Bonne on a free would be a good signing at this level.

At 27 he's the right age, athletic, and can play several forward positions includingleadingtheline. Fairly pacey and decent in the air to feed off Wards crosses.

Fans have got to realise we're shopping in B&M Bargains and not John Lewis anymore. Gone are the days where we can p!22 away a few million quid on fairly average players on bloated wages.

Bonne's not my dream signing, that would of course be Mbappé obviously.😉

I'm just waiting for people to shoot me down saying his scoring records not great blah blah blah.

I'd just prefer him over Rhodes and Waghorn as Bonne would add some much needed pace.

This shirt in white, with the black and red trim in the zig zags would have been so much better in my opinion. 67ybaHwvBUclvmm.jpg.53087ce25c15c9a826ba04bf4f0925ed.jpg

Their away kit is pretty good too. Hoping our away kit is a belter this season.🤞

  3. Bradley Dack is a free agent and could replace Didzy.

Macauley Bonne is also a free agent and probably more of a Warne type player, he's a good Athlete and would offer options. He can play through the middle as a loan striker or in off the wings behind Collins.

Both players under 30 too which surprised me with Dack.

    that's a real nice kit

That blue kit is actually really nice, would like something similar for our away kit this season. It's got a bit of an mid 90s vibe to it.

Our 1989 blue chequered squares away kit is still my favourite. 😍

There's one spare seat on the East Anglian Rams mini bus for the home game v Charlton on Feb 18th if interested ...

I did see that one but unfortunately can't go as I'm the manager of my lads football team and have a fixture that day. Keep me posted of any other trips or meet ups? Are you guys doing a pub meet up for the televised game vs Plymouth? (Mind you, Tuesdays are my training nights but might skip that one?). I'm Stowmarket based BTW.

  6. I'm going to your game away at Ipswich on Saturday as I live in Suffolk and my lad has a football match in the morning on the outskirts of Town.

I'll certainly be hoping for a Wednesday win to open up the hunt for 2nd place for ourselves. You guys always travel well and think it will be pretty much solsd out.

Ipswich fans get a bit too big for their boots. One mate of mine said they'd piss the league by 10+ points near the start of the season so boy am I enjoying see them draw so many away games to average sides at the moment.

Having said that I do fear we're probably due a few duff results and bad days at the office at some point.

Good luck for the rest of the season and hopefully you're already promoted come the last day of the season and we can secure 2nd place up at Hillsborough. ?

In that loan spell at Ipswich he scored 1 goal in his last 30 games, making it 12 for the season. He's not scored for QPR all this season. A total Nick Blackman, with a momentary career purple patch.

Not strictly true, he scored 45 in 90 at Leyton Orient, 11 in 36 at Charlton. In our current situation he'd be a shrewd signing. He's also rumoured to be wanted by Sheffield Wednesday and Charlton so he's not to be sniffed at in our current situation.

  8. With Osula back at Sheff Utd, and transfer options limited, Macauley Bonne would be a decent signing at this level. Can play as a lone striker or out wide so would be great option.

As a suffolk based Derby supporter I watched him quite a bit last season and he was on fire when Paul Cook was manager scoring about 12 goals by Christmas if memory serves me right.

He's fairly quick, works his nuts off and is good in the air although gets caught offside quite a bit playing on the shoulder of the last defender. At 27 he's at a better age with good lower league experience to do a job for us either as a striker or winger to provide competition/cover for Collins and NML.

My Ipswich ticket arrived this morning. Restricted view but i have consoled myself in the knowledge that my cheap as chips evening rider train ticket came with a free 1st class upgrade, so i will have at-seat service and antimacassars

Its the finer things in life that count......?

Maybe Ill see some fellow forum folk there, but i literally had to squeeze in the trip so will only be getting to Ipswich at 7.20 and have to be back on 10.30 train?

Its an easy 5 or 10 minute stroll to the ground from the train station so you should be OK with it being an 8pm KO.

For those travelling by car it could be difficult getting into Ipswich as its going to be a healthy 27k+ crowd.

There's a small town called Stowmarket just off the A14 and it's about 20 minutes train ride away from Ipswich and will save you battling through Ipswich looking for a car park in the dark.

It would obviously add to the travel cost but may save you some time if you're on the drag. The pub for away fans is opposite the train station if you have time for a few ?

Well I would tell him not to celebrate in the away end mate.

To be fair, he doesn't know if it's Shrove Tuesday or Sheffield Wednesday, he just loves his football and i won't dictate who he supports. He likes Derby and Ipswich but not a die hard for either really. I moved from Derby to Suffolk when I was 11 but having been to the Baseball Ground as a youth I'm hooked for life.

My son has several of my old shirts  my dad dug out of the loft along with a few more recent kits, I usually wait until they go on sale at the end of each season.

We'll be going with my 75 year old dad who's followed Derby all his life, my brother and his 2 young lads who are also Suffolk born and bred but not Ipswich fans.

Im sure we'll be fine, and hopefully we'll get the result we're after. ??

  11. My lads going to be reet confused. I'm a Suffolk based Ram and have got us tickets for Portman Road in the Away end. He's only 8, but have been taking him a few times to watch Ipswich last season and a couple this season including tomorrow, a near full house vs Portsmouth.

With our delayed kit launch, I ended up getting him the new Ipswich home kit for his birthday in August (I must admit its a beauty?) to add to his Rams collection which includes ones I used to wear in the late 80s and 90s with the blue checked away being his favourite.

So I will let him wear a blue shirt on the night but it will be the one I had as a young lad pretending I was Dean Saunders!!!

In short, if you see a little lad celebrating an Ipswich goal on the night in the away end, go easy on him, I blame the parents. ?

    COYR ???

One possible option is to park and get the train at stowmarket just off the a14 - regular service into Ipswich and quickly back on the a14 post match. No issues with parking at stowmarket station on my previous trips to Ipswich

Yes I live in Stowmarket and have been taking my son to watch Ipswich a few times in the last year. I always buy a train ticket to get to Portman Road but have never had my ticket checked on match day.

I've been talking to my 8 year old son recently about where we are going to sit for this fixture with him having split loyalties. The change of day/time to a Friday evening has decided it. He's going to Bed and I'm sitting in the away end. ?. I haven't told him that yet though. ??

  13. Being a Suffolk based Ram I've seen the new Ipswich shirts and they're pretty good efforts to be fair.

When they announced they were changing from Adidas to Umbro fans on their forum were in uproar but have been pleasently surprised by the new efforts from Umbro.

The designers probably put more effort in to ITFC shirts though as they have Ed Sheeran as the sponsor and sell pretty well from what I hear.

  14. I'm a Suffolk based Ram and have been to about 7 or 8 Ipswich games with my lad this season and the atmosphere at Portman Rd has been the best it's been in years!!!

They've had an American takeover who's pumped in money to invest in the squad, and a new young coach/manager, Mckenna from Man United whos highly thought of.

The attendances were up in the mid 20Ks all season and there was a real feel good factor in the games I attended. 28k vs Sunderland just before Christmas when Covid was more of an issue.

There's a group of fans (ultras) who have sat in a section in the Bobby Robson (North Stand) and created various banners and displays as well as making good noise throughout that has really helped the rest of the stadium get a spring in their step too.

Hopefully we'll be on that same path to recovery soon. ??
