Excellent post. Some of the ludicrous over-reacters posting rubbish should read that.

It's a confidence boost to them, yes. But momentum? I wouldn't say so. Bolton have won 2 in their last 7, Barnsley 1 in their last 4, Peterborough lost their last game. Peterborough possibly have "momentum" in their form before losing to Portsmouth, but the form of the other two is hardly brilliant.
It would be a massive up-turn in form for any side to win all of their remaining games. For Bolton that's 7 in a row and for Posh/Barnsley it's 8 in a row. They haven't done that all season, it'll take a massive effort to pull that out of the bag now. For example, Bolton have won 7 league games this year. They've played 16. If they go on to win 7 in a row now then fair enough, they deserve it.
It's really frustrating that we haven't taken this opportunity, but we haven't thrown anything away yet. We still have it in our hands, and whilst we still may bottle it, turning on the players and the manager at this stage, would just ruin any remaining chance we do have.

That was a terrible watch. But just a bad day at the office, forget about it and on to the next. For every high ( Bolton game) there has to be a crushing low. It’s the Derby way, MM taught us that 😳.

We were never going to win the remaining 7. Rather lose now and come back with some fight for the remainder. There wouldn’t be anything more Derby County than losing to Northampton and Blackpool only to beat Portsmouth.

Enjoyed having Rooney at the club. Scored some memorable goals. Who actually thought we’d ever see Wayne Rooney play for Derby?? Certainly not me.

Also did a brilliant job at galvanising the team through a very turbulent, memorable period. How much of it was managerial know how and how much of it was an us against them attitude resonating through all the fans, staff, players etc for him to get carried along on? Whoknows. But there were some brilliantly, memorable, lasting moments.

The late come back and last minute Bielik equaliser against Birmingham…amazing. The towering header from Curtis to grab a late equaliser away at Reading and ensuing celebration something akin to Marco Tardelli…awesome.

Despite it all, there were some moments last season I enjoyed nearly as much as our away win at Leeds in the play offs, and Rooney played a huge part in that. For that, and for nearly achieving the impossible, I’m truly grateful for.
Don’t hold it against him for a minute that he resigned or took another job (whatever the case may be) after enduring what was it, 3 failed takeovers?? 4 failed takeovers?? I’ve genuinely lost count. I wish him all the best and hope to see him back here one day in an opposition dug out.

We have Rosenior now. We actually have some players too. We have a club. So good luck and thanks Wayne, see you on the way back up ?

Needs a good run of games in his preferred position not cameos and occasional starts when we’re either chasing the game or he’s playing down one of the flanks in my opinion. Get him down the middle.
I’m speaking from experience. He’s currently 88 rated in my fifa 20 career and we win the premier league in 2025 with Sibley scoring 30 and assisting 20 odd. We then sign an ageing Salah, Messi, Van Dijk, Saka and Luke Shaw for a first attempt at the champions league after winning the europa league the season before. It’s on lads, you heard it here first ?
