His intentions initially were very good, he bankrolled us, especially during the summer of 2015 were everyone said whoever finishes ahead of us would be automatically promoted. The only snag was the PE teacher he appointed as our to quote “our Alex Ferguson”. Awful management appointments throughout and Wazza is the worst.

Is that what it is on here ?
Seems that any post that's critical of Melvyn's tenureship is deleted. 6 years of shambolic management and ego boosting vanity projects now coming home to roost.
If it means relegation and admin to move forward so be it.

Get Rooney in a taxi at half time and give Mac a go. Or one of the players. Or one of the stewards.

G8 post. I couldn’t agree more. For whatever reason he lost form from Christmas onwards during 15/16, then Pearson shat on him, mac pi$$ed him about, Rowett and Frank shat on him also, then Phil gave him a cameo. Yes club legend in my eyes also. If he hadn’t got injured during the 14/15 campaign he’d have took us up. Arrr well good luck to him.

I imagine after 4 years of different managers sending him out on loan and not starting him he just fancied a new challenge and some consistent football tbh. Nowt like being bitter about a player fancying a change of scene is there? Don’t think you can really hold it against a player wanting the best financial deal available also when they’ve only a few years left before retirement and their income drops drastically. Reckon any of us would do the same. Martin is still a club legend in my eyes.
But, each to there own and all hey?

Do you know what the biggest scandal in all of this is? That Bennett is classed as an asset ?
Seriously though, this is from the outside looking in a decision of hypocrisy as he’s been sacked for causing a risk to the public... as a passenger! The two drivers should have been sacked.
Surely Keogh will appeal and if he wins that then this whole sorry saga will plumb new depths.
Such a sad end to a great servants career, he’ll be remembered for two negative events.
Derby County, I am so disappointed in you.

The other sad thing for Keogh is he won’t now get the same physio and rehabilitation treatment as a club would give him. Pretty much thrown on the scrap heap.

If there’s no other reasoning, it seems odd to me that Bennett and Lawrence get fined and Keogh gets sacked just for being a passenger. Surely the same fine for Keogh would have been fair. It’s morally wrong to sack him because he can’t do his job fully.
I don’t know what job you do Daz but if i got injured at a works party and my employer sacked me for gross misconduct after 7 years of employment but let my colleagues off with a final warning/fine, I’d be a bit pi$$ed.
I’m pretty sure this will end up (again) with a out of court settlement. We are an embarrassment ☹️

Surely there can be no other option than a court case where I would argue he would undoubtedly win.
Two players who drive both guilty of gross misconduct and keep their jobs, clearly the act of misconduct determines the punishment not the refusal to take a pay cut

The club are perfectly correct in this decision and I fully support them.
These modern players are living in cuckoo land.
If Keogh had anything about him he would show some humility and be doing everything he could to repair the damage he has done to the club.
Refusing to take a pay cut instead of begging for forgiveness makes me think he'd be better suited to the House of Commons than Pride Park.
If he has been on £25,000 a week for the past few years he should be set up for life and if he isn't, well that's his fault. Either way, if it was me, I would be doing anything to restore my own & the clubs reputation, including working for nothing, if necessary.
We all make mistakes and believe you me, I've made plenty, but it's how you right the wrongs and learn from them that matters.
These players need to understand how privileged they are and start behaving accordingly.
No sympathy for the bloke at all now. Good riddance.

Embarrassing. Morals completely out the window for a bit of cash. If Keogh could still play he'd be in the starting 11 and we'd have offered 'support' to him just like the other two. Should have got rid of the lot or none at all. Really poor from the club.

Roy Mac took his grandson for swimming lessons the same time I took my youngest (6 years old then) son. Really friendly lovely man, maybe a bit to friendly? Told me once when talking why Johnny R and Rowett fell out, when JR was dropped last season. The first time we spoke Roy was sat in the entrance area, I noticed him and my son was sat in the doorway putting his shoes on in everyone’s way after a lesson. Roy thought it was hilarious and I got talking to him. I told my 6 year this man here (Mr McFarland) was captain for Derby when they won the premier league and he also played many times for England. My son look at him and laughed in disbelief. Roy just winked and laughed back. Lovely man.

Great to hear, it is so important for the next generation to meet and shake hands with the genuine legends of Derby County, there will never be another set of players who will win not once but twice he premier league ? Or play in european cup semi finals, they will be revered and given the kind of respect that Steve Bloomer gets nowadays, just a shame that the club doesn’t use more of them to promote it and remember them whilst they are still with us, not when they are gone !
