Vydra in centre midfield....? The guy doesn't run about at all. He doesn't do tackling, pressing or any of the dirty side to central midfield. Not sure how you think you'd get a lot out of him there?

Tbf I didnt make it clear enough but I’d have him slightly further forward than mount in possession. However stating Vydra doesn’t do any running/pressing/ tackling is ludicrous. After watching him every game last season.  Vydra was pressing teams left right and centre, winning the ball back for us in midfield. Countless times last season I saw Vydra doing the dirty side of the game and putting a shift in. If he didn’t do that then he wouldn’t have played in a rowett team he had to defend as well as go forward. Definitely could play there.
Theres a misconception with Vydra which come from the fact that when he takes a heavy tackle he stays down for a few moments. But let in never be said that he doensnt run about and win possession.

After yesterday I'll take a bar of the next few weeks over the 'give Mason Bennett another go' brigade who have only just got round to accepting that Callum Ball might not have a future here and Giles Barnes isn't coming back to save us

Good point sir - I travel in to watch most games these days and on more than one occasion I have met up with Rams fans from far flung shores in The Brunswick or A.N.Other bar as they wait back for their trains. One example, couple from Finland who started watching us back in the 70s and never stopped, my cousin down south is a life long Derby fan for no other reason than Clough. It does matter, and long may it reign.

I do find the way many fans attach themselves to a player with this unending belief that they will somehow come good if they are given 'one more chance' to be quite amazing (and also strangely admirable).
Bryson, Martin, Mawene, Riggott (v2), Tyson, Burley, Ball are all examples of players where I have personally felt they have long passed the point where we even need to have the discussion.
In general, you can multiply the likelihood of this by two for any striker and by ten for any local born lad.

Met him at a party a few years back, he didn't even know what division we played in and when I told him we come out to Steve Bloomer his response was 'really, they still playing that?' with a sneer across his face. So you can scratch that one from your list.

Man City did not win the league in 1966, they won Div 2.
This is how it all starts, one small lie and from there we are only a couple of years from a totalitarian dictatorship.

What is the point if Iniesta announcing his international retirement? Everbody, even people who've never watched a game of football, know he's not playing again.
So, just to be sure and to avoid any confusion, I would like to officially let Gareth know I no longer wish to be considered for international football.

I dont think Duckenfield is a murderer , he didnt mean for 96 fans to die at Hilsborough
If he had apologised soon after the disaster, I would have had sympathy for him, we all make mistakes, some more costly than others. But the 20/30 year cover up is unfuckingforgivable and deserves jail

On the whole Lampard vs Gerrard thing - you'd have to say that Frank has clearly won the first round (i.e. choose the right club). Yes, we might be a few years away from European football, have a reputation for being a bit trigger happy in getting rid of managers and still a risk (on both sides). But I'd guess that 99% of new managers would have taken Derby as a sensible first appointment over Rangers, where the lid on the pressure kettle will be rattling before a ball is kicked.

What's not to love, Jody Morris is the first coach we have had since McClaren (coach) who knows how to win. I'm more excited by his appointment than Frank's and while Lampard might take all the media interviews (I doubt you'd get a bet on us being lead game on the first The Championship of the season) I'd hope Morris can start to weave his magic in the background. My only fear, same as I have had for a few years now, is that Mel gives them the time and support and freedom to get on with it.
