It was bloody rubbish said Mick. Even a bloke in a wheelchair got up and walked out.

Interestingly, Sharapova hasn't come close to winning anythinbg since she was banned - nor has she had a heart attack despite no longer being allowed to take her heart medication - who'd a thunk it.....

I'm sure this has been covered before but people who video moments on their phone that they should just enjoy live. Last night went to a concert and when they did their most famous song you couldn't see the stage for people holding up phones. Why not just enjoy the moment rather than losing it only so you can watch a hazy recording once (maybe never).

I thought Thurman would win also, he looked a bit rusty in his last fight but before that looked the best at this weight. But Pac showed he still has it - even though I didn't think he did.
Whyte looked gone in the ninth, I really thought he was going to get stopped. He's a good boxer, maybe the same sort of level as someone like Ortiz, but as @Alpha says he hasn't got the class and moves to have anything except a punchers chance.
But he just might, just like Amir just might against Pacquaio...
Price looked surprisingly good, he really could have been something if he'd only learnt to keep his chin on his chest.

Thought Fury did pretty much everything asked of him - showed good defence, finished ruthlessly and entertained along the way. A very good night's work for him. I do think he has now slipped into the number one slot - Wilder always has a banger's shot and Joshua is better than what we saw at MSG. But Fury has really rounded himself out to be not only the better boxer but also the better draw. Amazing to think he's managed this only 40 months after his infamous comments about homosexuals and less than eighteen months after being cleared to box again (and we all know what happened in the period between those two dates).
Only two things will challenge Fury - one is Usyk, who has enough to be a real threat if he wants to, and the other is Father Time. Fury is 30 now, reactions are the first thing to go and he relies on his so much given he is not the biggest banger out there. I'd love to see him clean up in this division, I really would, but he will need a pretty clear run at it and with the likes of Al Hayman to duke without outside the ring it won't be easy to do it.

Off on another rant. The latest series of Black Mirror is so tired and predictable, mining the same two or three technologies that it always has. With everything in our potential world they just keep going back to social media, memory implants and virtual reality. Really, is that all there is to consider?
And in the latest series the stories don't even consider the impact of the technology - in at least two of the three stories you could tell that today without even needing to include the supposed disruptive tech. Only the first one - Striking Vipers - actually challenges and then at the most superficial levels - the ways our lives might change. The other two, without plot spoiling, just use (or rather reuse) some random tech as an almost incidental around an otherwise standard plot line.
What a shame, when it first came out it really was a thing of immense interest but like so much else it has vanished into a pastiche of itself, devoid of the challenging writing and truly disturbing plotlines that we saw in the first couple of series.

Wow, Joshua certainly looks like he has just got himself a mountain to climb. Usyk is pretty much the most dangerous heavyweight out there and now AJ has been ordered to fight him straight after a career defining fight (which he should / must win, if he doesn't it was nice knowing you). I know he is obsessed with being the unified holder but it really does look like the moment has gone, in my opinion he'd be very well served to let the WBO belt go, hunt down Wilder and then come back to Usyk if and when he's learnt how to defend. If he does decide to let the belt go, which he really should, I could see maybe Whyte against Usyk for that belt and after that we have another name in the mix. Fascinating times....

They were, in glorous false leg pink.
Archie Gemmill used to pop into Jordan and Fitch in Littleover village and park his outside, only problem was it was a blue one with his name on the side that he got as part of signing for Brum. I remember Gerry Daly (strangely with Billy Hughes in the passenger seat) just about getting his bricked in as he drove it to the Baseball Ground after he'd signed for Coventry. That one was sky blue of course.

Totally agree with this, very sad story Kirkland - ended up a bum on the streets with serious mental health issues but a wonderful fighter in his time. He was like Naz and Herol Graham rolled into one.
If anyone hasn't read it, Steve Bunce's History of British Boxing has a good section on him, it's a great read for all those who remember the days of Harry Carpenter, Reg Gutteridge and Saturday nights watching boxing on terrestrial.

The problem with AJ now is that the magic has gone, a bit like Tyson after Douglas the big question is whether he can intimidate fights like he used to. Lennox showed how to come back from times like these but AJ now has to do the same. Listening to the interviews after the fight and the comments above about what he was saying during the fight I think he got some real strange concussion, a bit like those who can remember Murdo MacLeod getting whacked in the face by a free kick and then running around afterwards asking which way Scotland were kicking.
But he's been shown tonight that he is not invincible. I think tonight was massive for Fury, he knows he's better than Wilder (who will always have a good punch and can't be discounted) and now AJ has shown he is human. Fury is the best boxer, the best chin and I think he has just found himself top of the pile.
One final thought. The one thing this is great for is boxing - all those fights that couldn't get made have just come back on the table. If Wilder is true (and not repeating his $50m call out to AJ) in signing up with Fury then that one is done. Joshua will now have to go on the back burner but he will also have to be a bit more humble on his terms - something his challengers have said he wasn't always.
Tonight was bad for AJ but good for boxing.

Have to break this to you gently---She's a woman, its what they do to wind us up!
It gets worse- Indoors it has to be 23, for some reason in the car its 18 or she's huffing and puffing.
And as @Wolfie says we cant leave it on 18 in a cold car its wacked up to 25 before the engine is warm as if that's going to help. The other thing is this compulsion they have to adjust everything, temperature, vents, fan speed, even though its exactly how it was last time they got out of the car!
Then finally when you seem to have it all settled down and your tanking down the motorway you get "aren't you hot with that jumper on?" like you can take it off at 70+!
What would we do without them?
