I'm not old old (only just turned 28) but I guess clubs being a complete turn off rather than a fun end to a night out is one thing. Fresher's week makes me feel older, they're all around campus looking happy and carefree and obviously are young whereas I'm trudging to my office tired out to get my next chapter finished. I've been round the country a good bit in the last 3 weeks or so (Hull, Edinburgh, Nottingham, Widnes, Sheffield, and Manchester) and I'm absolutely knackered. A few years ago I'd have been fine but now all I want is to sit down on the sofa with a hot drink and a good book.

No, you're not old and I quit clubbing when I was 39 so you can...

Yep, the hair on my head handed its resignation in 35 years ago.

    Electric scooters make me nervous.

Don't see them around here, but they probably would if I did

    Prefer not going to pubs

    100% yes.

Nope, get targeted with retirement communities (mainly from the US) and funerals they presumably have give up on pensions.

I went to all the rams London games.

it’s not the same but I just love the whole day.

I want to go to So-Fi too but it’s a bit out of my price range at the minute ?

I saw the rams play the Broncos around about 1988 at Wembley but it was pre-season and not that great tbf.

My first ever two live games for the Rams ended as a 7-0 win at home in Anaheim against the Oilers and a 6-0 loss away in New Orleans.

13 points in two games - exciting stuff.

I’ve been given multiple business cards in Fallowfield (Manchester) this week. They’re everywhere during Freshers.

    Ket is massive here.

I spent 4 hours at a rave once helping a girl I didn't even know every well, but who had got her ticket from my shop so I felt responsible somehow, out of a K-hole. She was terrified for most of the time.

The "war on drugs" is the wrong approach and has failed as prohibition always will.

The saddest thing is that it's a KNOWN fact that if you launch campaigns like that and the 'just say no' one that Barbara Bush started in the 80s' you effectively tell younger people that more people are doing it than they probably realise and create social proof in reverse.

You have to make it socially unacceptable like drink driving and smoking.

Good post. Taking coke doesn’t instantly turn people into nobheads. Some people can handle it, some can’t. Just like alcohol, though I’d imagine a higher proportion of pre-existing nobheads take coke than drink alcohol.

I still think the distasteful chants are caused by young lads not knowing where the line is.

Or rather, knowing where the line is, but it's on a toilet seat that their mate just left.

I have seen several people refer to this. Is cocaine a casual thing, then?

I don't know anyone who has ever taken it. Maybe because I am old. Is it easy to detect/prevent?

The problem with coke is it highlights peoples flaws and makes them more confident to not worry about those flaws, a bit like alcohol without being blindingly obvious to other people or eventually falling over.

Not that I ever took it in my clubbing days, but er, if I had, it would have made me more likely to hug people than get aggressive.

But that isn't always the case and I know people who took it and became super arrogant and aggressive. And if people take it in a group of dicks, they're going to become a dick too.

It would definitely account for what is being discussed, and it's highly doubtful anybody who has never taken it would know from dickish behaviour.

Having said all that, it's expensive (at least it was I'm told) to the point that Sting once said 'Cocaine is Gods way of telling you that you have too much money' so I doubt a LLOT of people can afford it. But I could be wrong.

Anyone on here off to the falcons vs jets game?

I'm so bummed that the Rams played so many games in London when I was living in the US and now none for the foreseeable future.

Going to see another team just doesn't sit right with me when I so want to go to So-Fi.

Well, Cardinals shouldn't be, not that I'm still annoyed by last week or anything...

I only saw a bit tbf, but that one play where their entire secondary wasn't even visible on the TV was pretty horrible.

Murray is an enigma, he doesn't worry me in terms of being a dominating QB, but he can looks great in bursts.

Not sure what's happening with the Vikes because that division is sat there for the taking.

I'll certainly be pulling for you today.

  10. Admins, I'm wondering if it's possible to have a new thread after each game where people who went (or even watched it on TV) can post a match report. Not a one-liner or just rating each player, but a thoughtful summary. It would be cool to get to know about the ebbs and flows, missed chances, and what the support was like (especially for away games) etc.

I was busy all day yesterday and scrolling through the thread to find bits of value after the event was difficult. I ended up having to call @Eatonram and that's always my last resort.

I for one much prefer to read the thoughts of intelligent and knowledgeable Rams supporters than two paragraphs on a news site telling me what I already know.

i know you like to try and merge threads, but I honestly think this would be popular and you can limit it to just posts on the game and not reactions to posts or name-calling.

Maybe you tried it and it didn't work, or maybe it's too much admin work, but I'd love to know if others are as keen to read more on the actual game and different viewpoints as I am.

If they don't and I'm an outlier, then I shall just sulk in my sett.

Lot of really close scores this week. Rams appear to be setting the pace in their division.

    Not many 2-0 records around...

There are 3 in our division which is looking increasingly brutal!

Rams and Bucs last season proved to be the turning point for Brady & Co.

Goff came into their house, put the offense on his back and led the Rams to the win. He outplayed Brady in every sense of the word and it seemed to piss of their organisation enough that they ended up ripping everything up, going into the bye week, then came out a completely different side.

I think the Bucs will be well up for a 'put-right' performance, but (special teams aside) we've looked good on both sides of the ball. We've still got a bit of development to go, but we're at a good level at the moment.

Rams are slightly favoured for the game next week. I'm going to back the Bucs as a safety bet, but it's going to be one hell of a game!

Wasn't there some stories that Brady refused to shake Goff's hand after that one?

It will be a tough one, but because they have had so few changes to their starters I feel like they've started in mid-season form where our D is still finding its feet.

If the Rams can pull this one out of the bag I'll be impressed and we'll need (another) big game from #99 and #5!

    Sharing bag

Speaking of sharing bags, when did grab bags become a thing? I'm sure they didn't exist when I left for the US in 2006.

    What does it even mean?

I usually just pick them up normally.

Unless there's a crisp shortage, in which case I grab like my life depends on it and horde them.

£5 to that man! Or Derby County Football Club, both worth about the same at the moment!

A boat rolls inward in a turn and a ship outward (which looks a little bizarre!) owing to the centre of gravity.

I think your Scouser mate was just being a Scouser because some serious maritime sites can't agree on a definition.

Isn't it all to do with the position of the centre of gravity in relation to the upper deck level?

I actually looked it up and it seems there isn't a literal definition just lots of people arguing about it and it would seem that the easiest way to think about is that a boat can fit on a ship can carry a boat but a boat cannot carry a ship.

I'd like to see somebody try and get this 570 foot monster onto a ship. image.thumb.png.0a4da128e39713b25a14a8fe116ba7bf.png
