It’s the tactical naivety that’s the issue. Nearly every opposing coach worth his salt has done one on Warne. Unfortunately whatever league we are in, the other coaches are better. Quicker to change , quicker to apply and overall more resourceful.
i have given him the time but I’m afraid he and his team are out of their depth. It’s  No excuse time now, last night the cracks were chasms and my patience with him has gone. I’ve tried to sit on the fence and occasionally point out these failings but instead of course corrections there are glaring gaps in this management team’s ability.  As ever there is always an excuse. Never “hands up, I got it wrong, we need to re-appraise our approach. “
The lack of contrition about where the problems are suggests that this is always going to be a concern.

It’s too late to change it now but this is not what the club needs.

Hindsight's a wonderful thing, but even before the kick-off last night, both my son and I were staggered at the lineup, given the attacking talent we had on the bench. This, for a home fixture against a team at the wrong end of the table with a dreadful winless streak.
Neither of us is given to irrational knee-jerk reactions, being intelligent and level-headed men, but both of us have concluded that a change has to take place.  We know it won't be this season, so we'll suck it up and support the players, but we need to have a change at the helm in the Summer - whatever division we are in (League 1, most likely).  As others have said, attendance will continue to slide and this will impact revenues, given the turgid, lackluster and unexciting fayre being served.  Something is clearly not working, given the talent on paper at PW's disposal.  This group of players simply can't be so bereft of ideas; it must be down to how they are being coached to play the games. This league is a dire standard and whilst yes, we are still 2nd, I don't think that's because of our superiority, but rather the failings of others.
For the first time in my 60+ years of following this great club, I have never felt this despondent.  We will only get so many 'get out of jail' cards dealt and we must be near the end of them now.  We shouldn't have to rely on luck, but that's the only hope left right now for me.  If we do manage to limp out of this League, we'll face an even bigger challenge without some material change!

Will never boo our team at end of match but was tempted last night. If we dont go up I would sack PW immediately. Season tickets will be down if fans are faced with another season of this football in league 1. If we do go up I would still sack him immediately. PW has shown nothing to suggest he will even consolidate us staying up in championship. I wouldnt want PW involved in any way in more player decisions at the club if it was my money. I would hope david clowes is planning for both scenarios and has someone who will give him good footballing advice. Having said that I will trudge for every home match, support team and manager whilst there and trudge home again, and even desperately try for at least one away.

In reality Roy he's only part of the issue admittedly a fare wedge 👍, The players have to hold their hands up too, I'm no PW cheerleader nor am I a PW outer, The players in this squad should be better for the division we're in...but there's something amiss, It's either PW aint what we were led to believe or the players just aint fussed.
There's a good chunk of the squad out of contract this summer, Maybe words have been said at Moor Farm that indicates their time here is almost up, There's players here who are playing one week then...puff like magic they disappear, Some are picked over others, Some are played out of position, Some are constantly injured, Some are favourites.
I'm out of the tent pissing in so looking from outside, I don't go, I don't watch them on Rams TV but I follow on here, I look at this squad and think 🙄, As the manager results and performances are down to him and if we fail he fails.
I'm more concerned about his comment last night..."we've not been playing well all season" 🤷‍♂️ a very strange comment to make...imo

100% this. We have a squad of players and many of them don't know where they'll be playing next season. Will our manager want to keep them, will they want to stay? Who will be recruited and who might come through from the Academy?
Do we as a Club want those decisions to be down to Warne and his horrible approach to football? It's not too late to change, it's better to do it now in a way, a new manager would have chance to change the way these players are sent out, although who knows how they were sent out in the second half last night!
I have no confidence that Warne will get us over the line, especially after the end of last season.

The football was awful, hardly any creativity and lots of odd positioning of players. No real pattern to our play either before or after various substitutes. It's been like this since Warne was appointed, he gets through it mostly because of the quality of players recruited.
    Should have won, really?

Disagree with this to be honest. Our squad on paper is in a mini-league if it's own with Pompey and Bolton.

I’m no tactical genius but I disagree with your assessment. I didn’t ever feel like we looked in control. Charlton kept the ball better and I always thought they were a “missed tackle” or mistake (as it happened) away from getting in. We looked v v poor in possession after the first 15 and never looked like scoring a second goal. As at Barnsley, we looked more urgent in the last 10, largely to the opposition sitting on their lead

The ball control and passing are woeful at times. Do they just do set pieces in training?
And throw ins? Lost count of the times we threw to an unopposed Charlton player. Ludicrous.
I’m telling you, Sonny Bradley messes that team up. Take him out, let Cashin and Nelson do what they did so well. Play two proper full backs and have six players ahead of them who can create goals. It’s not rocket science.

Well that was a poo end to a nice holiday, taxi got us back from Gatwick with 10 mins to spare before kick off ( on rtv ), wasn’t sure on the team but we seemed to start ok with real tempo and intent , got a goal and then it just fell apart ,, ffs what is wildsmith doing 🤷🏻‍♂️, from then on the result / ending seemed pretty clear to a long time derby fan , our players and perhaps the management team just don’t seem to have the balls when we get into good position to kick on in games and cementing top two ,
last night was probably the most disappointing this season , there’s only one chance and that s that the players and management put last night behind them with the attitude that the season starts here ,
over to you warne and the boys 🤷🏻‍♂️

Unfortunately, I am beginning to believe that on genuine evidence PW and his team are woefully inadequate. Tactically naive, they allow other managers and their coaching teams to take total advantage of any and every strategic tactical decision. I was never expecting Pep, but this is bettered on local playing fields by many a under 8's coach.
Basically it lets us down. Even if by fluke we get promoted, I am sorry that we cannot sustain this. I have never been anti Warne and Co but did note my reservations and concerns quite a while ago (these were quite obvious, so everyone else noted them) but no-one in the coaching team appears to learn.
I'm not a spring chicken having watched Derby For around 63 years and I 'm not saying I remember that much in my early years (but I have seen a lot of football, in my time)  but an older guy said to me tonight, after the match; that the manager is just a PE teacher and his only answer is to get quicker, unfortunately, the technicians have caught up. This is 2024, this I am afraid is a cul-de-sac.

Keep the best centre half in the league at centre half?
An appalling game of league one thud and blunder football, refereed weakly, and gifted by grotesque errors. Repeat of Saturday in many regards.
Bradley had two goes at clearing before he got roasted for the equaliser, and he nearly got caught in possession a few times.
Not getting into the Warne thing, but I don't think I can commit to 23 more turgid episodes of that sort if we don't get out this time. When's the last time we were properly entertained? Oxford away? At home? Genuinely can't recall.

How frustrating is it when Wildsmith catches the ball and just holds it for 30 seconds and then hoofs it long. Bowl it out quickly, get the play moving. It's so slow and ponderous.
Charlton in the first half were absolutely dreadful, and yet we created nothing. It can't go on like this.
We haven't played well in months, we've just been going through the motions and scraping past poor sides. I'm fed up. Call me entitled, we deserve and should ask for better.
