Sorry, but I completely disagree. The longer this situation is allowed to continue the more long term damage will be done to the club.
Were there any signs of improvement whatsoever I could understand advocating for more time but the simple fact is things are getting worse, not better.

5 years is a long time but my ambition would be to be bottom half Premier League by then.
Go up this season, 2 seasons in the Championship and away we go in the PL.

What you've just described sounds a lot like Crystal Palace. It doesn't sound too difficult to "be like Crystal Palace".

A lot on here are talking expectation and not ambition.
Our ambition has to be playing in the top division of English football. Being sustainable and competitive in that division, with a sprinkling of academy players in the team.
Anyone who wants less than that, then frankly I don't know why you bother.

I knew he would play Maguire and Phillips was an obvious move from him, actually happy with front 3 though.  Hope Maguire scores an own goal as bad as that sounds ,but we still win. Sick of seeing him in the England team and sick of hearing about him, he should no way be in over Dunk.Only way he doesn't play going forward is he has a beast of a game, don't want him destroying England's chances next summer after starting 5 games all season for Man U.

It's a horrendous choice in my opinion (not that Southgate cares what I think). I also mentioned up thread that Tomori has been part of one of the most solid Serie A defences the last few seasons. This year the only match they've lost is when he was suspended (for a second yellow in the previous match that was dubious). His team got to the semi-finals of the Champions League last year, thanks to some solid defending.
Harry Maguire can only dream of having the impact the last few seasons that Tomori has had.

I don’t think he will get resounding credibility until he finally manages to guide us to victory over a good team. So far his record against anyone remotely decent (Belgium, Croatia, Italy and France) is to lose them all.
We played well against France at the World Cup and that has offered hope.
I’d love us to get somebody like Portugal in the last 16 or 1/4s and beat them well. But we’ll probably get somebody like Switzerland or Austria, and finally get a good team at the semi-final stage where getting there has already been dubbed a success.
Fixtures have been so kind to Southgate during his reign as England boss.

Going back to the original arguement..............
DCFC are competing in the EFL with the potential to gain access to the Premier League. That is competion pyramid we are in. The best we can achieve is to win the premier league the worst we can do is to be last in league 2 or the fourth tier. This season is only our 4th season ever in the third tier. Our worst ever position in the football pyramid is to be 7th in division 3.
On this basis if we finish below 7th this season it will be the lowest point in the clubs history.

In the last league game, 8 of the starters had played 100+ times at Championship level or higher (I.e. the league above where we are now), many of them significantly more times than that. The others being Wildsmith (who’s been excellent since he’s been here) and Cashin and Fornah (2 very good young players).  What “things of significance” do you expect them to have done? We have players who’ve got promoted out of this league. Players who’ve been promoted to the prem. Players who’ve been in the League One team of the year.  We are still a league one club, we aren’t going to be fielding a team full of current prem players.

Mate, have you seen the rest of the squad too! They’re all playing in League One as well! How terrible they must be!  Why oh why isn’t our squad full of current Championship players?
Back on track… Korey Smith, 7 consecutive seasons at Championship level before signing for us…

Go look at the squads of the teams promoted from this division plus the squads of the two teams currently sitting in first and second in this division.
You will find your argument does not hold much water once you do has if it did they would not have or will achieve promotion.

Warne is doing an average job and that is where we become divided.
If he was doing a poor job and we were lower half, we would be unanimous in wanting him out. Likewise if we were top two, he would have unanimous support.
But his 6/10 performance has put people off while others remain supportive. There doesn’t appear to be a clear way which it’s going. I don’t see us slipping back to mid table, and I don’t see us threatening top two.
I see a season of average performances and results which will likely see us fluctuate between 4th and 8th.
Regardless of the noise, Warne’ fate as Derby manager will probably come down to two or three games in May. Until then, we as fans will continue to argue amongst ourselves and May’s results will create a majority opinion.

Doesn't help that we don't pass the ball properly through the lines and Collins isn't great at linking with. Under a different manager could be so much better.
Forget the guff people say about how different managers haven't rated him, Rooney didn't but he likes grafters like Warne and like Warne is hardly a manager with top pedigree, Rosenior barely got a chance ,Cocu rated him in the main but he had injuries and also was young at the time coming through.

Sorry to be blunt, but I think that's nonsense.
Absolutely nobody would complain if we played 'dire' football but won the Premier League and were playing in Europe.
The style of play debate only really heats up when results are perceived to be poor. A vast majority of fans are willing to accept a certain style of play when results follow, look at the Billy Davies promotion season. However, as soon as an unappealing style of play fails to get the desired results then people turn quicker than milk in a microwave.

Sibley needs a proper run in the team. He has loads of potential. He won't get anywhere by being dropped every time he has a quiet half.

I don’t hate Paul Warne, I don’t dislike Paul Warne, I just don’t rate Paul Warne and can’t stand listening to him. This isn’t a new thing for me, it’s how I have felt for about 5 years now.
I am now trying my very hardest to appreciate him, and results like that on Tuesday and away to Peterborough help me with that. If he gets us up this season I will acknowledge and enjoy the achievement, but I have said it a few times before that I think any broadly competent coach ought to be able to get this squad up this season. We have a strong squad in a very weak league.
However, I still don’t think whatever happens that his football is ever going to be particularly pretty or organised and for that reason I do hope if he does get us promoted we still consider replacing him with someone with a record of achievement in the Championship. If he fails for a second season he should be sacked regardless.
    Up the Rams!

Whilst we have a manager who prefers not to have the ball than have it, I’m going to struggle to support him.
It’s amazing really - when the team plays football we score goals - all three at Blackpool were super, so why doesn’t he encourage that style of play more often?
