You did well to photoshop all their faces onto an old team photo as we have already established these things no longer exist.

My grandad's drive was on a slope and my aunty have driven down to visit. I was a baby and had just finally gone to sleep in my pram, when for some reason, my mom decided to take me back out of pram and wake me up. A few moments after this, the handbrake on my aunt's car failed, and the car rolled down the slope, smashing my pram into the garage door into bits.

Welcome to the Canaries. The Ultimate YoYo club. Just 1 point separates us and we have the same GD, goals for and against. Delia who taught many to boil an egg, still holds 10% of the shares in this well run club that being close to North Norfolk’s wonderful beaches can’t be a bad place to live and it’s also pretty much home turf for PW.
My first match day thread since I joined the forum so hope I haven’t breached any protocols.
To be honest I know pretty much nothing about the the current team except Cameron Jerome is an ex Canary and an ex Ram .. ack .. let’s do this COYR
FRGS Jerry Yates .. the lad deserves one for all the work he’s put in.

At 18 I was in a relationship with a girl who I'd known since we were at school, and we split up when I was 24 because she fancied playing the field a bit more and was worried that if we stayed together she'd have only ever had one boyfriend!
6 months later I was in a new relationship and suddenly the ex has a bout of severe regret and begged me to get back together. I vividly remember being sat in her car and having to decide. Chose to stick with the new girlfriend.
    A year later I was a dad !
A year after that the new girlfriend ran off with another bloke and left me as a single dad...
Easily the lowest point of my life and I was so full of despair that I'd made the wrong decision in the car that night (the original ex-girlfriend had long moved on by now). Some dark times and a lot of meaningless awful and very  brief relationships ensued.
4 years later though I met someone else that changed everything and we've now been together over 20 years with another child and now a dog too.
I wouldn't be where I am now if I hadn't been through all that, so the advice is obvious. Even the worst things that happen  to you are a catalyst for the good things that lie ahead. Never look back with regret, just learn from your mistakes and move on

Freedom of speech which makes what they’re singing not criminal doesn’t mean they are free from any consequences of their actions. The club would be in their right to ban anyone who brings the club into disrepute.

Agree. My main gripe has been fans standing when my nipper was little and he couldn’t see and more recently fans standing in front of my dad who is 87 and can’t stand. Waste of time him going now.

Sorry, I rather seem to have hijacked the matchday thread, which I didn't mean to.
Just to say the matter of away fans' behaviour has been raised at numerous SCG meetings and we always get the same answer - choose where you sit. Sit? They're having a laugh!
I have always supported safe standing and singing sections (mainly so I can avoid them!) but there will always be people who insist on standing where they want, doing what they want. Police and stewards film them but only from the safety of the pitch. They need to get in amongst it, but they won't.
I'll shut up now and let you get back to the football. I can't add much to that as I happened to be "sat" behind two 6'6" guys on Saturday so saw very little of the game.

If David Clowes or anyone else at DCFC is reading about our away day experiences. Please take note that we don’t want to spoil the away day for other fans . But could we have a special section for fans who like to chuck beer over each other , take drugs , sing abhorrent chants and seem to have no actual interest in football.

OK….maybe jail is a bit harsh.
I do have a problem with fans making completely unfounded statements about someone being a sex offender.
I’d like to think that’s a widely held view but maybe I’m wrong.

I loved Lessons. That, and the previous Machines Like Us, were two of my favourites ever by him.
I've just read The Year of the Locust by Terry Hayes. It was a present and not the sort of book I would normally choose, but loved it. Haven't read a book over the Summer, so a great one to get back into.
My next book is going to be Klara and the Sun after a few people recommened it on here. Thanks all in advance!

Alf this has hit home for me and should warrant a thread IMHO. Possibly even raised in the fan feedbacks.
Mrs Silverback and I travelled to many games away, with notably "rough "supporters Burnley/Stoke etc and we often felt more afeard of our own "fans". I use the term loosely coz they are nothing to do with football as such. Just  a bunch of brainless morons looking for trouble.
I could be way off the mark here but  don't want to be lumped in with these cretins, and I would ask the club managements to provide a set seated area, where we as true supporters of the club/football could at least feel easy watching the game.
This being the age of inclusion and bums on seats, we would love to travel away again but after a particular experience of our own fans at St Marys, we decided that neither of us felt safe enough to want to repeat the experience.
We are both in excess of 65 and do not like being bumped and bashed by fans of our own as we are a little unsteady, and would happily pay a little  extra for the privilege.
I accept that most away supporters would find this abhorrent to their experience, but I would not in any way want to affect their day but they are seemingly happy to spoil our enjoyment.
Retirement has given me the time and finances to go to all matches, but I feel excluded because of age/safety.
I am sure there will be a chord struck amongst many travelling fans with this rant, and I hope that someone can at least give this a dose of looking at.
    Rant over 🤞

You're right, Alf, and the ones I know to chat to are women. There are a couple of blokes, but I don't know them well.
The whole setup is wrong, imo, because a sizeable proportion of that away support is male and influenced by drink or drugs.
Other blokes don't tackle them either. Safety first.
I would like to think that if a person was reported the club would act, but what can they do, really? It's obnoxious behaviour, rather than illegal. So the rest of us have to put up with it.
An example from yesterday. I arrived at the turnstiles just behind a load of lads singing the Sharp sex offender chant. The entrances are at the far left of the stand. Our seats are far right. The concourse is rammed with singers, beer going everywhere, no way through for a short lady in her late 60s.
So I try to go into the stand on the left, to get down to the front and make my way across the front of the seats. Sheffield stewards say no way and send me back into the mob.
No customer service, and no recognition that some of us do actually need protecting from our fans.
I know most away fans would tell me to stay at home, but I'm not quite ready to give up on my football yet. But I am beginning to dread the whole experience more and more each season.
