In the meantime, clubs in League 1 and 2 are forced to play their U23's adding to their own fixture congestion and injury list in a competition worth about as much as a happy meal.  Here's a plan, use some them U23's in a replay against Stockport.  Much the same fecking thing.

I get the fixture congestion line that's always trotted out with this kind of thing, but there are far better solutions than this. Why not increase the Premier League squad lists from 25 to say, 30, and make them actually play some of the vast amounts of talent that the Premier League clubs hoover up from the lower leagues?
As a point of reference, re fixtures - Man City played 61 games in total last year. Winning the treble. In 71-72 we won the league, and neither the FA Cup, or League Cup, and had no European impediments, and we played 60 games.

Seems we may have gone from tickling Marianakis love spuds and the sheep don't know what they're talking about,  to possible protests to get him out and much hand wringing that they've blown more in 2 years than a medium sized countries annual GDP. 
Lets hope they do and he has one of his tantrums, takes anyone decent to Greece and tells them to feck off with a wage bill of 170 million a year as a gift.

Don't see the issue. All 72 clubs are getting the equivalent of one bang average Crystal Palace player transfer fee plus wage for a year to spread between 72 clubs as compensation. It's a huge sacrifice by the Premier League. 
Speaking of which, have they upped their offer for Ebiowei from 30k yet or are they hoping we've forgotten now they sent him on loan for a fee without coughing up.
