AdamRam reacted to TramRam in Keogh Sacked
This what google came up with.
"In one of the most Kafkaesque stories in the world of soccer, Adrian Mutu has been ordered to pay over €17 million to Chelsea after the failure of his most recent appeal in the European Court for Human Rights"....27 Feb 2019

It will be settled out of court, RK will get his compensation.
I haven’t got the legal skills in this area to base this on anything but a gut feeling however I just think the inconsistency will go against Derby.

Keogh was well within his rights to refuse to take a pay cut as per any other ordinarily employed worker.
Whether Derby were within their rights to then sack Keogh is something that remains to be seen.

Do you really think you can be sacked for not accepting a pay cut ?
Maybe if you work at Asda I suppose ?

Reading it again I think maybe not.
Car crash: Bennett in front car, Lawrence and two passengers (as per above quote).
Bennett and A.Nonymous leave the scene. Lawrence & Keogh and the parameds are still there? All I can think of is that Alfie hid in the back of the car when the parameds turned up, hence no treatment? ?

Maybe, maybe not.
I tend to believe in facts and the timings of the release of his story and the actual sacking leads me to question if he did actually get offered a pay decrease or not.
Therefore I am reserving judgement on that part of the story, as you say journalists get paid to write stories, he was sacked for gross misconduct and it wasn’t for refusing a pay cut, that may have been an option to him, but wasn’t the reason for his sacking.

What do the club have to gain, same as you put in your first paragraph, good publicity in that fans think RK is a Bamford for turning down an offer to stay at the club, where in fact no offer was ever made ?
Now call me cynical but the club have this disciplinary period in which they come back with a list of reasons to dismiss RK for GM, and suddenly a story gets released that they offer him a contract on reduced wages and 14 days to respond, just a few hours later he is sacked, who looks better the club for offering the contract or RK for turning it down ?
I’m guessing neither of are going to agree regarding this, however how about a sporting bet, I say that if RK starts legal action against the club following the period he has to appeal, it will never get to court and will be settled out of it.

All that Keogh's agent has done here is protect his asset. Just like the club.

"Heartbroken". I'm getting really sick of tosh like this coming out of the club. It's a business decision to reduce Keogh's salary. It's a business decision to sack him. I don't particularly mind this hard nosed approach, but I wish people would stop trying to pretend there's any emotion or compassion at play when the club's actions show anything but.

Kind of based on the way they've treated all 4. None of it adds up to me.
I'm not into arguing the rights and wrongs of legal obligations etc.
Just based on my own perception of the right thing to do.
2 drink drivers fined and back playing and earning, 1 passenger sacked and another passenger not named.
Keogh has been an ambassador and role model for this club until this

Why would you arrange cars home if there is no booze involved ?
At least we finding out what the Derby way is now, break the law, flee the scene of a crime, leaving your teammate injured as the result of your actions and you get a six week fine. Get in the car, and get a career threatening injury as the result of it, and you get sacked
Once again the club shows it is driven only by money, otherwise there would have been consistency and the punishments would have been the same.

The club is an absolute shambles and has been for years.
It almost needs a multi billionaire businessman with no allegiance to the club whose sole purpose is to get to the promised land, come into the club, sack everyone and start again.
Netflix would have a field day with our club.

Yes, like when he last sacked someone that wasn’t a manager of the club, that went well didn’t it.
Bet the dressing room spirit is at an all time high at the moment ?

Well hopefully it’ll be from a different source that advised him he could get rid of Rush cost free, that didn’t go as well as he hoped did it ? He’s actually starting to piss me right off, it seems like we’re lurching from one crisis to another on his watch.

Would recommend getting game pass, you can get an introductory offer of a quid a month and it gives you a host of games to play. Most are not new releases, however the odd one is, gears of war for example.
Some great games on there, including one called mutant year zero if you like strategy games which I would recommend, and loads of shooting and other games to choose from.

Most businesses will have some sort of indemnity insurance that covers these types of eventualities, I’d be very surprised if not given for example Derby have an “injuries” policy in place.
As with every insurance payout, legal advisors will try to explore every avenue, so unfortunately whilst it doesn’t look great it should not really come as a great surprise.
Really not sure what it has to do with a reflection on football, they will have the policy in place to cover them for such eventualities and not sure why they would be expected to plough in millions of pounds for something that is being driven by legal teams, wouldn’t be any different in any other business imo.
Just hope the outcome is satisfactory for all.
