@loweman2 when are you going to reveal your collection of Brian Clough toe nail clippings from his playing days, Peter Taylor’s Cuban cigar buts from his BBG dugout days, Steve Bloomer!s England jock-strap ensemble and Frank Wignall’s nasal hair? ?

"I can only speak from my point of view, how you influenced my life.
"Of all the coaches I worked with, and I worked with a few, my time with you at Newcastle was as good as it ever got.
"Your honesty, your professionalism, your dedication, is what they are recognising and it is about time, because people like you who give so much to the game sometimes don't get recognised.
"You deserve it, mate. You have done so much for football.
"If someone was to say what does Arthur Cox mean to you, apart from a very, very good friend, I would say he is the most honest person I have ever met in my life and that honesty transfers to all the people around you.
"You probably won't enjoy this, because you don't like publicity - we all know that - but just for once, let yourself go, have a little bit of wine and be sure there are so many people who would love to be there (I'm one of them) to recognise what you have done in football.
"Well done, mate. I am pleased for you."

Brilliant manager and a great man. He created very good football teams that were a pleasure to watch. One of our greatest ever managers.
I will never forget those days of storming through the divisions - he made us so proud of our team.

I've had the real pleasure of meeting Arthur on several occasions. He is an absolute first rate Gentleman. He told me some fabulous anecdotes about the time he worked for Robert Maxwell but point blankly refused to be in any way indiscrete; {Maxwell used to pay Arthur bonuses in the form of dozens of pairs of gentleman's socks from Harrods!}. I think Derby County for once were privileged to have had Arthur as manager {the players all referred to him as the Sarjeant Major} and I feel privileged and honoured to have met him. He always give people his time and shows people total respect. A true living legend. Spoke about his Derby players as if they were his own sons and visibly shed a tear when we talked about Rob Hindmarch. A wonderful man and true Derby County hero.
