The vote which utterly screwed this country for ever more (or at least the rest of my life) was five years ago. The figures relating to relative wages for lorry drivers are from 2020-21.
The fact that we unceremoniously threw out - or made unwelcome to the point of making them spend Christmas 2020 in a bloody car park in Kent - tens of thousands of lorry drivers - doesn't strike me as the most effective way of enticing them back again, only for us to throw them out again on December 24, 2021.
Equally, the fact that the only region of the United Kingdom which is not suffering logistically-induced fuel, food and commodity shortages is, coincidentally, the only region of the United Kingdom which still enjoys, to a certain extent, freedom of movement. This, coupled with the fact that the 27 members of the EU are also seemingly inoculated from our sceptered-isle-specific 'sunlit upland teething problems' is as utterly infuriating now as it ever was. I'm sick of saying "I told you so".
Next question? I have many more rants available.

I would settle for league 2, rather than just read about Derby County in the history books.

Not sure if someone else has put this up but a bit of class from Michael O’Neill
“We had two really good chances before we did score, but I can't begrudge Derby the win, they've had a really difficult 24 hours.
"I thought they showed great spirit in how they played, the crowd were terrific as well."

I think it's the second bit that is the most marked difference. The players seem to know what they're being asked to do and are fighting for every ball right now. Most fans will accept the losses if the team is giving their best, but not so much when we roll over as we did far too much last season.
Given the current personnel and all the off field nonsense, I've no real complaints right now. Pleasantly surprised to be honest!

What a bunch of cockwashs Boro are. Like playing Leeds in the 70s. How did the Ref work out we committed twice as many fouls as them.
Well done lads for standing up to them.

You can indeed pay £10 when you are abroad. It was only a fiver for us abroad last season. I suppose the club needs the cash in its current predicament.

I'm hanging my entire hope on a take over, new manager with ambition and a few players.
Imagine if we got took over and they put someone like wilder in charge. Even alex neil and a few signings would lift this club.
We are the media whipping boys. Ex players and managers laughing at us on sky, bbc, talk sport, twitter.
    Desperate stuff.

We are where we are because of Mel Morris..no one else is to blame..this death by 1000 cuts is just so sad to watch..he is driving our club into the ground then rubbing it's nose into a turd filled puddle. He is shambolic and his legacy will speak volumes

Yes. Mel Morris spent his hard earned money on more tripe. Everyone is banging on about Rooney here but at least he is still here. Most would have walked. This whole mess is down purely to p1ss poor ownership and accounting. Nothing more or less.

    It's absolute ********.
I have left the job I love because I couldn't handle the mental illness epidemic behind closed doors.
I'm not saying this will happen @Davidbut, it sounds to me like you know pretty much where this could lead. Prison.
Like so many others. Even then they can refuse the meds. It is left to untrained officers (in mental health) to try and deal with someone who is dangerous and violent. And cannot be reasoned with.
I've been punched in the face by a murderer who was in the midst of a pshycotic episode.. He fixated on me. This was after 2 hours of me sat watching him behind perspex tearing stitches out of his neck wounds. 4 weeks later, he is moved to the unit I worked on. No care by anyone for my safety. They thought it was funny. I'm a big lad, and he wasn't, that's why it was funny apparently. Not going to stop me being stabbed though is it?
Such a sad state of affairs. But what can you do when so many people suffering severe mental illness end up in a world where the public do not see them or have to deal with them. And it really isn't the best place for them. At all.

This is bad news as far as I'm concerned. Best case scenario it goes through and we become everything we want to be having sold our soul to oppressive, regressive owners linked to states violating human rights on a daily basis. Worst case scenario it goes through and they are everything I listed above as well as being crap at running a football club and we ultimately end up in a huge mess.

    Doesn't smell right to me.

Like you say, personal taste. I look at it more the opposite way. There are genres and artists that really grate on me, yet every now and then a song appears that I love and would even put in my top ten.
I used to hate Sting's voice (over time I've got to not mind it), yet Every Breath You Take I loved from the first time I heard it. Robbie Williams was the non singing fat dancer out of one of the most fabricated bands that ever existed, yet the same with Angels.
Then there are artists that you love and yet they release songs that make you think "what on Earth were they thinking when they recorded this, let alone release it". Shiny Happy People by REM, it never even appeared on their greatest hits album!
Music, eh! Everyone has their favourites, everyone has songs and artists they hate. A workmate once said "there is no such thing as bad music, only music that you like or don't like". Very profound and true, except for Tina Turner, she makes me want to rip out my eyes and stick skewers in my ears whenever I see or hear her. Oh, and Proud Mary by Ike and Tina Turner is probably in my top 10!

One of the Ten Commandments is "Thou shalt honour thy father and mother", but nobody has a God-given right to push their families around and mess them about. There are limits. I went through that as a young man myself and I know it can be difficult. It's important to maintain your self-respect. Just stay true to yourself and the things you believe in. It can be very hard work,  but I wish you all the best.
