    From a Tory peer...
“The rottenness of Boris Johnson goes deeper even than his casual racism and his equally casual courting of fascism. He will advocate literally anything to play to the crowd of the moment. His career is a saga of moral emptiness and lies; pathetic, weak and needy; the opposite of strong.”

Keogh wasn't good ....but either was the rest of the defence... I personally thought man for man Leeds were better today.
I hate Leeds like you wouldn't believe but the last time we played a team that good was wolves last year.

It’s perfectly reasonable to have a debate about the Burka/Niqab And also be broadly against it, certainly when you live in an increasingly secular society. At least have doubts or concerns about its oppressive symbolism.
But Boris wasn’t interested in debate.
    Hes just interested in Boris.
And so he depth charges an already divisive country with another one of his ‘its only a bit of a joke guv’ statements, that’s designed to give him some headlines and keep him in favour with the Telegraph reading, real ale drinking baby boomers who think that their inane pub chat should be instantly written up as a national constitution and see him as a straight taking hero, a la Farage.
If he was a great statesman. A great politician. Focused on the betterment of humanity. He wouldn’t be making childish jibes at the appearance of the women wearing them, but starting a more nuanced conversation about how you stop the oppressive actions of those forcing them to wear them.
    But he doesn’t
Because he’s a see you next Tuesday.

Please don't pretend that Corbyn is anti jewish when its obvious by his voting history in parliament while his behaviour and appearances in public and private prove beyond any doubt that he is not a racist.
The whole fiasco is to shut down any possible criticism of the actions of the state of Israel.
Corbyn has criticised Saudi Arabia's record on Human Rights many times but no one is calling him racist for that.

I lived in the Potteries for six years, and oatcakes were a staple part of my diet. There is nothing to beat a cheese and tomato oatcake, except perhaps a cheese and onion oatcake.
Cold oatcakes also have a very sensual texture when applied to the skin😆.
Funnily enough, I quite enjoyed living there, but I moved away in order to make a decent living when I got fed up of being permanently skint.
I lived in Newcastle-under-Lyme, which is the Playground of the Potteries, and for a short time in Burslem (a dump).
I went back a few years ago and was amazed by how much they had knocked down, especially around Shelton, Middleport and Cobridge (a real dump).
Shame that the place is so down at heel.

Sorry the nuance was lost - I was being extremely sarcastic. Disaster capitalism is the ugliest most horrendous type of captalism. The fact that Rees-Mogg's Dad wrote a book about how to profit from economic collapse seems rather odd. Given that Jacob is the most ardent hard brexiteer out there. He knows full well that hard Brexit will be devastating for millions of people. But not him, or his clients, because he knows how to profit from it. Daddy told him. He makes me sick

Yep. This is my belief. It will depend how "just in time" your business can work. There will be varying risk premiums attached in case you guess wrong and lose perishable stock. Like the sandwich man with his tomatoes.
We've had the benefits of jit being developed through v low inflation in the past and that will now presumably unwind.

The accountants will go mental. They won't accept all that capital being tied up in inventories. That's the reason they moved to just-in-time production in the first place. It is bound to cause prices to increase, because it's expensive to have all that stock lying around doing nothing.
European customers will just turn to other suppliers who can deliver on time.

    Ah good old disaster capitalism!
Worth a shout at this pont to Jacob Rees-Mogg's Dad's 1987 book.
No wonder he's so keen on Brexit

Everyone is being penalised so nobody is being penalised is a bit of a silly way of looking at the situation 1of4 describes isn't it?
If you deliver 'just in time' goods and you can't deliver them in a timely manor you are buggered. I am not sure how that can be argued against?

On the whole i agree, but I'll give Phil Brown 2 mitigating factors, 1. it was his first job and 2. he had a very difficult hand to play given the state of the club at the time. Yeah he was still rubbish, but i feel less harsh towards him.

"The former work and pensions secretary, Iain Duncan Smith, said: "There is no such thing as a no-deal, as the [World Trade Organization] is where the EU and the UK are already and as a rule-based organisation, both sides would have to abide by those rules."
"However, Catherine Barnard, professor of EU law at Cambridge University, said Mr Duncan Smith's idea of falling back on WTO rules would not work, because in that case, the UK would not be allowed to let EU goods in tariff-free without extending that to the rest of the world.
She told the BBC's The World At One programme: "That would make it very difficult for us to negotiate trade deals in future, because we'd got nothing to negotiate over. We'd already given up the right to impose tariffs."
This sounds quite an important point and something you would think was fairly black or white.
It's these sort of fundamental details that never seem to be discussed or explained. I obviously think IDS is a total cretin, but anyway, you can't help thinking a professor in EU law at Cambridge might know a thing or two about this.
If IDS is wrong about this, he should really be taken to task for spouting such rubbish, especially if we leave with no-deal and everything goes to pot.
Although the morons who told us that everything would be easy to sort out before the referendum still seem to be carrying on regardless.
Did leave voters ever think that the army was going to be needed to help with essential supplies? The extreme ones won't care, but there must have been a decent chunk of that 51% who could have been swayed one way or the other.
Unfortunately they have been sold a false dream by rich, lying, rightwing scum.

We could make more bacon. And more machinery, computers, cars, trains, electrical gadgets, pharmaceuticals, plastics, medical apparatus, aircraft, furniture, bedding, clothing, etc.
Why didn't we think of that earlier? Why does it all have to be imported? Why has the UK had a whopping trade deficit in goods every year since 1983? Where is all the investment going to come from to turn everything round?
Slapping duties on everything after Brexit is going to make things much worse.

I reckon we should have been putting plans in place by now if we wanted to increase livestock production. Its not an overnight thing.
