  1. Hey all, our latest podcast is out now: With the chance to go seven points clear of third place in League One going begging, Chris, Tom and Phil look back on a sorry afternoon at Sixfield, where Derby slumped to a 1-0 defeat to Northampton Town. We analyse the sitters missed, Sonny Bradley's red mist, and the latest possible addition to the injury list. Are Warne's methods leading to more muscle strains, or is it just coincidence and bad luck? We also definitely answer the top Rams talking point from the past week... do beans belong on a fry-up plate or in a separate pot?
  2. Hey all - happy Deforestation Day! To mark 10 years since we smashed Forest 5-0, we're running a 20% discount on all SBW beer mats for today only. You can buy here: https://stevebloomerswashing.etsy.com
  3. Hey all, our new podcast is out now - recorded in real time at Pride Park on matchday v Bolton. Join Chris and Cutch as they make a nervy trip up to Pride Park for the massive promotion showdown with Bolton Wanderers. A win would take Derby four points clear of 3rd place in League One, while defeat would pull the Rams back into the playoff mix. Recorded in real time from the stands, our latest 'At The Match' podcast is an emotional journey through a tense and stressful encounter which ultimately ended in relief thanks to Kane Wilson's second half headed winner.
  4. To add to this to anyone who's listened, we did a bit 'Players you wish had never been injured', and after mentioning Branko Strupar, we discovered he 'had a heart attack on the pitch' last year and was in a bad way. Anyhoo, I messaged him and thought I'd pass on that he's better now and still loves the mighty Rams.
  5. Evening all - some fresh DCFC podcast listening out now to round off a great Derby weekend. An amazing 12th away win of the campaign sees Derby County regain 2nd spot in League One, having briefly dropped to 3rd during the week. Chris and Phil Hile are joined by SBW Ultimate Patron Peter Bond to look back on the impressive, satisfying 3-0 away win at Bristol Rovers, the instant impact and evergreen quality of Dwight Gayle, and whether the Rams can squeak automatic promotion without beating another top two rival. There's also a shocking revelation about Branko Strupar, ponderings on who we'd have supported if the club went bust, a Jungle Book-based comparison from Phil for Richie Barker, and our guesses on how many points equate to automatic promotion.
  6. Hey all - latest from us is out now: With none of the top three winning and Derby going down 2-1 at Oakwell, is it now a four horse race for automatic promotion from League One with Barnsley eyeing a late dash? Richard Cutcher, Tom Martin and Anton Martin assess Derby's defeat against the Tykes, their wider form against the top eight and compare the run-ins of our promotion rivals in a bid to make sense of a topsy-turvy race for the Championship. The lads also debate Derby's striker options with Dwight Gayle, Martyn Waghorn and Corey Blackett-Taylor all hopefully fit for roles against Charlton on Tuesday, and whether Paul Warne needs to go back to a 4-4-3. 7. Yes, I do love Stevie Wonder. Guilty as charged.... Anyway - we've got a new podcast out! Derby County's promotion bus continues to motor as the Rams maintain their grip on 2nd place thanks to a convincing win away at Exeter City. Chris Parsons, Richard Cutcher and Phil Hile look back on a ruthless performance on the road, and hail the impact of loanee midfield dynamo Ebou Adams. We also discuss the recent BBC Radio Derby interview with CEO Stephen Pearce, wonder who'd be awarded Player of the Year right now, and talk blue cards.
  8. Hey all - we've got a bonus, mini pod out this week - the latest in our 'At The Match' series, recorded directly from the away end. Join Richard Cutcher, Tom Martin and Anton Martin on another away day as Warne's Rams travel to south-east London in search of a tenth league away win of the campaign. Derby have had mixed fortunes at Charlton in recent years, but with new boys Corey Blackett-Taylor and Ebou Adams having boosted the Rams' ranks in January, there are hopes of another three points on the road which would keep Derby in touch with the automatic promotion race in League One. Recorded throughout the day and directly in the away at The Valley, this is our audio adventure and highlights from a gritty, hard-fought 1-0 victory, courtesy of Nathaniel Mendez-Laing's first half strike. Cheers! Chris
  9. Hey everyone, our latest episode out now (slightly later than planned due to childcare issues I had... but it did mean we could react to the Adams signing).... Derby returned to winning ways at the weekend (just), but questions still remain over the Rams' consistency, aggression, and desire as the League One promotion slog continues. Richard and Anton are joined by Match of the Day commentator and avid Rams fan Martin Fisher, who returns to the pod to talk life in the gantry, as well as his thoughts on the Cheltenham win, jeering Conor Hourihane, and booing the team off at half time. There's also discussion on Derby's new arrival, midfield Ebou Adams on loan from Cardiff City. Is he the midfield 'ratter' Warne needs in the middle, or just another underwhelming body in the building...?
  10. Hey all, our new podcast is out now - a return of the 'Roundtable' format we did in pre-season. Something a bit different which hopefully gives you some perspective on Derby's promotion rivals: With the League One season now past the half way point, Richard caught up with pod panelists from our promotion rivals, including two guests who'd also given us their predictions back in pre-season. We speak to Bolton fan James Jarvis, from the Lion of Vienna Suite podcast, Jake Smith, Pompey fan and radio presenter on Portsmouth's Express FM, and Dan Wheldon, from 'The Yellow Block' Peterborough United podcast. Our League One top four panel reveal their team's weaknesses, where they're looking to strengthen in January... and who they all think will gain automatic promotion. Cheers! Chris
  11. Hey all, our new podcast is out now: The Rams opt to concentrate on the league in early 2024 after a disappointing 1-0 home exit in the Bristol Street Motors Trophy to Bradford City... but how important was it as a competition anyway? Chris and Tom are joined by Chris Smith to look back on a 'brutal' Pride Park defeat, assess Joe Ward's deficiencies as a right back, and wonder if Derby have the squad depth to go the distance in the League One promotion race. It's January, so there's the inevitable discussion about Max Bird's future, along with welcome reaction to NML's new 2-year contract extension. Plus, Jesse Lingard 'offers himself to Barcelona': Discuss. Thanks! Chris
  12. Hey all, our penultimate podcast of 2023 is out now.... The Rams' penultimate game of 2023 sees a seventh win in eight league games, as Wigan are edged out at the DW. Chris is joined by Ollie Wright (@derbycountyblog) to assess the latest impressive result on the road - including a stressful last 20 minutes, before pondering the future or Eiran Cashin and heralding the new contract of superb fullback Ryan Nyambe. Ollie also tells Chris about the inspiration for his latest book, 'Coming Home', based on personal reflections of Derby's recent administration period, and we both wonder whether any team in the existence of football will 'beat' Derby's 11 point Premier League record. Happy Christmas!
  13. Hey all, our new podcast is out now: Fiiiiive goooold wins! Chris, Tom and Phil look back on a superb 3-0 away win at Leyton Orient which made it 13 scored and just one conceded in our last five, as Derby hit their traditional December purple patch. Phil also shares his incredible experience of watching the Orient game from the balcony of a rented AirBnB, complete with funny looks and the odd bit of abuse from the locals. The panel also give some serious chat on the Rams' Christmas fancy dress effort, before winding up the pod with the long-awaited (by noone) return of 'Win, Lose or Schnoor'.
  14. I'm just about to run out of stock of the 'Icons' set, but I'll definitely consider that in future. I'm gonna have a second set designed after Xmas, so watch this space! Early ideas include: - Bobby's Best (Davison) - Hughes Blonde Ale - 'The King' vintage IPA - Poom Bar. Some of these are serious, some not. You'll have to wait and see....😉
  15. Thanks so much. For anyone else interested, I'm currently running a 20% discount on the 'Moments' collection, for this week only. A perfect stocking filler for any Rams in your life....! https://x.com/SteveBloomerPod/status/1734179942429229281?s=20
  16. Hey everyone - our latest Derby County podcast is out now, off the back of FOUR STRAIGHT WINS! https://traffic.megaphone.fm/COMG4391086538.mp3?updated=1701379178 The temperatures are getting chilly... but Warne's Rams are starting to cook! Chris, Anton and Phil look back on back to back wins which extended Derby's winning streak to four in League One, sending Paul Warne's side into the top six for the first time this season. There's welcome praise - and a possible new chant - for first touch goalscoring hero Tyreece John-Jules, along with analysis of Nathaniel Mendez-Laing and his fantastic form... are we becoming too reliant on NML to win games? The SBW panel also look at the state of the division, with Derby sat in the same position but 4 points better off than this time last year. With the general consensus that League One is weaker in 23/24, do Derby have a greater chance of getting promoted? Plus, Phil expains his AirBnB set-up for his upcoming trip to Leyton Orient.
  17. Hey all - just wanted to let you know we now have the beer mats available as prints - both framed and unframed. Get 'em while they're hot...! https://stevebloomerswashing.etsy.com
  18. I went into the interview determined to dislike him and make him squirm, but the reality is.... he's a very personable guy who openly admitted he maybe should've made different decisions while at the club.
  19. Here's a teaser clip of what he said about *those* snakes at Stoke away....!
  20. Hey all, We've got a great new interview out now on the SBW Patreon with Gary Rowett, in which he talks to us about: - Taking over at Derby from Steve McClaren and his initial assessment of the squad. - The 17/18 season, the post-Christmas slump, and failing in the playoffs. - Leaving for Stoke that summer and seeing *those* snakes in the away end at Stoke. - His thoughts on Will Hughes, Chris Martin... and Ikechi Anya. You can join the SBW Patreon from as little as £3 a month to watch this 45-minute interview (part 2 coming soon), along with all our other bonus podcasts. You can even watch it for free if you sign up for a 7 day free trial. https://www.patreon.com/stevebloomerswashing It's a good chat, and he's fundamentally a decent guy who gave us 1hr 30 minutes of his time (though it probably helps that he's unemployed). Cheers! Chris

  22. Hey all - some international break listening for you.... https://cms.megaphone.fm/organizations/bbb99ed0-497f-11ec-a486-a3792dd1b3d3/podcasts/1461f2ba-1fff-11ee-adf1-17022c4e0ccc/episodes/044ad71e-8591-11ee-91fe-8b1ac3913f65#Share Your Episode_tab Days after we thought Warne's Rams had turned a corner with their impressive win over Barnsley, Derby embarrass themselves in the FA Cup, losing 3-1 at home to League Two Crewe Alexandra, in our first FA Cup First Round exit in nearly 30 years. Chris, Cutch and Anton attempt to decipher Derby's ongoing inconsistency, but heap praise on Kane Wilson and James Collins for their recent performances. Cheers! Chris
  23. Hey all, we've got a new podcast out: Recorded live from the away end, join Richard Cutcher and Tom Martin for an audio adventure in deepest Cheshire, as Warne's Rams travel to Crewe Alexandra in the first round of the FA Cup. For Derby, a chance to gain confidence, score goals, put in a mood-boosting away performance and get ourselves in the hat for round two. There's impressive buildings, chicken, six hours on a train, a late comeback, and plenty to ponder as Derby scrape a replay... just. Cheers! Chris
  24. Hey everyone - our new podcast is out now. https://traffic.megaphone.fm/COMG4809769441.mp3?updated=1698226756 Paul Warne manages the mother of all 'must win' victories, as a routine 2-0 triumph over a limited Exeter City side eases the pressure on his job and lessens the toxicity around Pride Park temporarily. Chris, Richard and Anton deliver an on-the-whistle reaction to Derby's 6th league win of the campaign and hail important goals for Nathaniel Mendez-Laing and Conor Washington, before asking if the latest victory really taught us much about the Rams' on-off promotion chances. There's also a wider discussion on Paul Warne's future, whether a different manager could produce better results from the same squad and, crucially, whether SBW is 'Warne In', or 'Warne Out'.
