Waghorne was superb today, his best game for me, everything stuck to him and he linked play like a more mobile Martin. Lawrence had his best game in a while and Bogle looks better defensively. We just need to get Wilson back on form and we could just make it yet!!!
Football... one minute your down, the next your right back up again!

I would make only three signings in the summer, all under 24 years of age too.
A really tough midfielder, no creativity, but wins it and plays simple passes to others.
A creative midfielder, but a passer, not a player that goes invisible for 70 minutes (Barry Bannan style)
A strong left sided centre back.
The rest of the squad places should be used to give the academy players a chance. They are above nearly all other teams, so why waste time on future loans, unless it is for one of the key positions above.

But signing 10 players would block the pathway from the academy. Our better players from the last ten years have come from the academy. Our less successful players have come from our largest expenditures.
We spend a sizeable amount on the academy and while it is not going to fix everything, it should provide the club with a couple of youngsters to bring through each season. We can then focus our limited funds into buying the crucial pieces of the puzzle, quality over quantity. In our case a good up and coming cdm, CB and atm to provide a tough spine to the side.
This would keep costs down, inspire the younger sides and hopefully provide long term stability to the club, with success following.
We so nearly got in right in McLaren's first season!

It may be quite telling that jacks best form and fitness coincided with the period when big glitzy glamour cup games were on the upcoming fixture list , there is very obviously enough talent in the lad to cut it at league one standard with the personal drive and work ethic he has ,the question is whether that stands up as you move up the levels ,after the initial period of not getting in the team which was a bit of a worry he got in and looked like he could easily make the step up ( around glamour game period) but he has now had a period where he has looked very very ordinary and like he was struggling to make the step up ,he was doing very little and just constantly fouling defenders in frustration conjecture ?
heres the rub ,we know lampard gives you your chances if you are committed and giving your all , Bennett proves that beyond doubt , I don’t believe that lampard would be dropping jack out of the 18 if he was putting in the required work ethic , I just don’t
Some people keep making out that you either have talented players or committed cloggers so we have to pick jack but there’s a third choice , you build the club on talented players who are committed enough to put the work in and the truth is a manager can never really be sure about players attitude and commitment until he buys them and has them in his squad ,jack will either hit the required standards or be shipped out and I have no problem with having a manager who knows first hand what it takes to succeed and won’t accept anything less from players he has playing for him

Why do we always go back to selling our young players with even a slight amount of potential? I remember the let's sell Hughes for x ammount, or Hendrick. Well that got us a long way didn't it? We cannot be trusted to buy players!
Bogle has made a good start, but let's keep him and introduce more young players.
I really think the way forward is to build a young pacy squad with players from the academy, this is supplemented by a couple of signings, but no more.

We haven’t won an away game in 2019, we’ve only won 4 home games in 2019... we’re in mid April. I’m not giving up on the season I’m being objective and taking my tinted specs off.
See above. 4 wins since Norwich away... 4 months ago.
Idiots? Do you mean someone with a realistic view of where the season is going rather than having blind faith that we’re gonna suddenly win 6 games in a month having only won 4 in 4 months?
Why don’t you grow up rather than resorting to personal insults??. Back up your enthusiasm with facts/reasons supporting it.

Where is our ball playing attacking centre midfield player?. Our Bradley Dack if you like. Waghorn/Bennett/Nugent/Marriott can run around all night and not have a sniff of the ball (like last night).
Where is our ball winner? our water carrier?, someone who breaks up the play and lets the flair players play?
Two big holes that need filling and until we do, we are not going anywhere. IMO

In reference to a poster who I don't even want to quote.
If we sack Frank, we'll get the same disingenuous rubbish from posters on here about how they're willing to give managers time, when quite often they're the first to call for the manager out after a bad spell.
We're 8th with a rookie manager, that's pretty good going for his first year in the job. Norwich could have sacked Farke last year, but they actually stuck with their manager and are profiting.
At what point are we as fans going to accept there is no magical appointment out there that is going to overnight turn us into a premier league team, and that it takes time and effort to transition into one of those.

That was a horrific performance. We looked like a bunch of strangers. Too many players who think they can go it alone. Wilson, Mount, Lawrence, constantly giving the ball away. Apart from Keogh and Bogle, I do not think another player won a 50/50.

    Bogle, let's be honest.
Loads of potential, but has his ups and downs this season.
With persevering with? Absolutely, will be a top player.

Bogle is very young, he will continue to make mistakes and that’s the learning curve. You are blind if you reckon he’s escaping criticism. I’m fed up of reading posts about how bad he is. I would rather us play our young, promising players and allow them support and patience to develop. Nobody is top class straight away. It’s about time.
Also, it’s nonsense to blame him for the Forest defeat. We had another 94 minutes to fight back. I’m not sure it was his fault our midfield were playing a game of hide and seek.
