You have just proved my point, look at your aggression and determination to defend them, it's pathetic. They will be out there, the very fact Liverpool have furloughed non playing staff tells me some of the players are happy to collect their fat pay checks and see others suffer. While I'm sure some have helped out, im 100% certain others don't give a flying duck.
You are clearly happy to see some people down in the gutter and others with more money than they know what to do with. If you think going one month without £20,000 is immoral then i have no words.
You're fighting the wrong cause. I'm angry about cancer patients being refused treatment. I'm worried about children trapped in homes with abusive parents. Yet here you are worried about how millionaires are being picked on.

How about every club in the country puts the NHS logo on their shirts for the next few years and £1 in every shirt sale made bets given to charitable causes that will be needed in the aftermath of this.

Some fans just want us to sell anyone who gets decent. If we had a track record of excellent signings, I could see their point. But selling Bird to sign a Johnson and Butterfield just makes me lose complete interest in football. We need to build around the youngsters, resist bids and make teams pay well over the going rate for them if we decide to sell, which we shouldn't.

Hi, first time poster, long time stalker of the forum.
I don't think things are as bad as they look. A new keeper, cb, and a winger and I really think we could push for promotion next season. This is what I would do with the current squad of players with a reasoning. I know this will be unrealistic as you can only sell players if they have a buyer, but here it goes:
    Release:
Huddlestone - although I think he triggered another year, we already have a lot of depth in this position and he is the easiest player to move on Anya - quite self explanatory, one of the worst value for money buys ever Sell:
Malone - With Lowe and Fozzy ahead of him, plus Buchanan coming into the first team picture, I think he himself will want first team football Jozefzoon - Really not worked out after 1 decent season with Brentford, just doesn't show the quality or consistency he supposing has Evans - Similar to Huddlestone, we have a lot of options here. I actually thought he was one of the best performers at the start of the season, but with Rooney and Bird playing in his position since then, I cant see him getting many minutes Marriott - I know a lot of people like him, but considering the hype he gets, it has to mean something if our last 2 managers haven't made him our first choice striker. I also think out of the 3 strikers we have he has the biggest sell on value which will be much needed Roos - at 27, I don't think you're gonna get much improvement from him. As a backup keeper, surely Ravas, Barnes or Foster will be good enough? This would leave us with the below. Assuming a target of 2 first team players per position in a 4231 plus some of the academy breaking through we would have a well balanced squad
    GK - New, Ravas
    RB - Bogle, Wisdom, Ebosele
    LB - Lowe, Forsyth, Buchanan
CB - Te Weirik, New, Davies, Wisdom/Forsyth
CDM - Rooney, Bird, Bielik, Shinnie, J Brown, Dixon
AM - New, Lawrence, Holmes, Knight, Sibley, Mitchell-Lawson, A Brown
    ST - Waghorn, Martin, Whittaker, Hector-Ingram, Hepburn-Murphy
20 first team players plus support from the academy is a lot more sustainable than what we currently have. I have obviously been really optimistic about us not loosing any of our main players or youngsters such as Bogle, Knight, Bird etc but would love to hear your thoughts

Best performance of the season for me from Bogle, capped off by a fantastic goal.
Now I do wear glasses and sit high up in the west stand but I could swear he is sporting a new barnet? Change of hairstyle  = improvement in performance?

I’d say he’s in a “transition period” with that hairstyle at the moment.
Doesn’t quite look right at the moment. Easily parted, probably will get much better with time. Bogle’s hairstyle is Derby’s squad.

January is in the books and the squad is largely unchanged, so Cocu has to work with what he has got until the summer.
After last night’s massive win, where does that leave people’s expectations for the rest of the season?
Obviously the outcome of the FFP case leaves us with a lot of uncertainty off the pitch, but we can still control what happens on it.
What would you like to see in the remaining 16 games?
    For me:
    1. Continue playing Clarke, Bogle, Lowe, Bird, Knight and Holmes. It’s refreshing to watch this team and so many young players making their mark.
    2. Stick with Wisdom at CB and see if he can make the position his own. Under the strain of FFP, we have to make the most of existing resources and look for solutions from within.
    3. Give Chris Martin as much game time as possible. He’s still our best striker and deserves the chance to earn a new contract.
    4. Take up Forsyth’s one year option - he’s a model pro, a team player and provides competition for places with Lowe.
    5. Scout abroad. Te Wierik is a start. But let’s see even more imagination in the transfer market, especially as we are on a tight, ever shrinking budget. Top players in Leagues 1 and 2 are going for millions, so we have to think outside of the box more than ever.
    6. Look to convince Matt Clarke and Brighton to extend his loan. He’s had a solid year with us and with more and more experience at this level under his belt, he can only go from strength to strength.
    7. Re-introduce Roos as first choice goalkeeper. Much like with Wisdom, we have to make the most of our resources.
    8. Positive football. I repeat, positive football.
    9. Improve the away form. With nine games left, let’s see some improvement. More points picked up, more battling and cohesive performances, more positive intent. Win or lose, let the fans take heart from what they are seeing.
    10. Lay down a marker for next season with a strong finish. The threat of a points deduction makes a final position hard to nail down, and in any case the play-offs are surely a bridge too far.
But on average, we are winning 5 games in 15. It’d be great to see us improve on that and win 6-8 games between now and May and ruffle some feathers (who knows we get on a roll and it could be more). It’s all about carrying some momentum into next season.
And yes, it has to be said that if we see more of what we saw last night, Cocu will be converting those pesky doubters like myself in no time at all.

With no Derby game my lad and I went along to the Moss Rose to watch Macc - financially they are in a real mess, ironic in some ways when you consider Rooney lives 3 miles away in a £20m mansion. Thought Mitchell did well aside from the penalty save and wasn't at fault for the Forest Green goal.
Macc's winner was an absolutely stunning strike if you get chance to see it.

Happy for him, never once let the U23 side down and actually looked a confident, commanding and assured keeper at that level, always talking to the defenders and never hiding from responsibility.
He just strikes me as someone who deserves a decent career as a pro. It's easy to forget that even lower league two players, or part timers in non-league are actually far better footballers than the average fan gives them credit for.

I'll get up tomorrow Morning, I'll cook myself some bacon and eggs with 3 rounds of bread and a coffee, I'll watch a bit of TV, Shower, Get my clothes on and catch the 12 noon bus, I'll be in the pub around 12-30pm, A couple or 3 beers, All the chat will be about our Mel and the EFL, Then around 2-15pm we'll mooch off to the ground, Get into my seat at 2-55ish, K Off 3-00pm and my support starts.
Mel Morris has got my support 100%, He may have made some bad choices in his tenure, But I feel as though the EFL are being a little duplicitous in this, Clowns in Billy Smarts are better run than this bunch of no bodies, I don't give a rats what any other clubs supporters think about us, If they're having fits of laughter, Or having fun taking the kiss....so what, We'd do the same.
50+ years I've supported DCFC, Around 1400 games, Most likely spent a kings ransom supporting us, When I go away on holiday, I take my DCFC shirt with me, Why? because i'm born and bred in our town, I live and breethe Derby, I DO NOT get embarressed when stuff like this happens, It's out of my control.
I do not sing now not many in the North Stand do, If any chants against the EFL are sung i'll stick my best singing voice on.

Don't worry about it mate. They aren't our friends. They are all rival clubs. We shouldn't be trying to please them.
All that matters is that we come out of this on the sunny side.
Whatever everyone is criticising about Derby is the exact thing we should be bragging about. None of the people who can judge us are going to be making noise on twitter, facebook or scribbling on the pages of some racist, xenophobic "news" paper.

    So much nonsense spouted here.
You can pay as much as you wish for a fixed asset. It's worth what someone is willing to pay for it. The amount was paid and also, of particular importance, the taxes were also all paid in line with the amount. Making the whole sale absolutely legal.
The rules stated that fixed assets could be sold. That is exactly what is happened.
EFL can have only two allegations...one around fraud. The other around the spirit in which the transaction took place.
As we saw with Leeds and the spy gate issue. They broke no rules but they were still charged and fined due to not adhering to the spirit of the rules. The EFL then saw fit to fine alter the rules in accordance.
This is what will happen here. The accounts were approved by the EFL. They cannot now retract that approval without there being a material difference in the info provided or indeed fraudulent activity in the provision of the accounts. Neither of which are alleged or part of the charge.
Yes we have probably contravened the spirit of the rules but not the rules themselves. They are under pressure from the Gibson lawsuit so need to show some willing but cannot actually act. They will be ripped through he court by a man with far far deeper pockets.
Spirit of the law contravention then we move on
One slight aside. And it may be an interesting diversion. In breacing and being deducted points Birmingham actually had the rolling three year period completely reset. Therefore 2019/20 is year one of their 3 year FFP period. For everyone else it is a rolling three years. With that in mind...if I was anew investor...I would be inclined to want the FFP period to be reset to zero in order that my investment can be used to it's full potential. Just a thought.
