Patrick Rams reacted to LazloW in Where do you think we'll finish this season?
I cannot and will not believe that we could mess things up so badly that we won’t finish 2nd…. But I’m still really nervous!

Patrick Rams reacted to Kernow in Where do you think we'll finish this season?
It’ll be a last-gasp attempt at mind games. He obviously won’t be telling his players that, they’ll still believe they can do it.
Really, the only way they get past us now is if we get so over-confident that it’s done, that we don’t go into games at our maximum effort.
It would be a disaster from us to throw it away from here, but I guess Evatt has to do anything he can to influence that.

Oh no!! I’ve just considered the world’s most squeaky bum scenario.
peterboro win their game in hand. Then Bolton and boro both win their next game and we lose to Cambridge
then we’re all the same points going into the last game of the season. With them playing each other.
the twists and turns during 90 mins of that last day will be ridiculous. I’d still expect us to beat Carlisle, but still, there will probably be a moment before we take the lead when either boro or Bolton score, and we’ll be technically out of the autos for a moment. Can you imagine the gnashing of teeth in here during those moments!?

That loss at Sheffield Wednesday was my first away game, travelling in convoy down the M1 on Trent double decker buses.
It was the week after we had thrashed Spurs 5-0

Dave Mackay's championship season we lost 3-0 at Carlisle who eventually finished bottom.
Clough's Derby team were top of the league in September 1969 and subsequently lost away at Sheffield Wednesday, who were bottom.
Football has always been inexplicable at times.

Exactly Tamworth.
Cast your mind back to the Frank season. We lost to the Dirties three times and only beat them once (away).

Been trying not to look at text updates every 30 seconds, but failed completely to do that for the last 15 minutes.
What a result.
I think we can relax just that touch now at Cambridge. The knowledge that a draw isn't the end of the world means we can play with that bit more freedom, and feels to me like it'll make victory more likely.
I feel...optimism? Is that what this is? It's been so long!

Well, just this once let's make it easy, eh? They've never done that for us before so let us have this one as a little treat.

God no. Get it over with ASAP. I really don't get this desire for a mad, stressful, day against Carlisle. Id rather be turning up knowing we're up and having a bloody lovely time of it.

FFS, if we go into the last game of the season with nothing to play for I'll be gutted.

Mental innit?. A few more kicks might decide whether we're playing Everton next season, or Mansfield friggin' Town 😭

To say Adams didn't cut it at Cardiff is a bit harsh seeing as he only managed 11 games and was out for a year with some debilitating injuries.
I have no doubt the player we have seen this season could cut it in the Champo- even with a top half team.

Pompey fan here, back for a brief visit.. Well done today, a convincing win for you.
Hopefully our draw at Bolton did you a massive favour.
Good luck lads, see you all at fratton next season

Well done on your win and putting things back in your own hands. I thought we were fortunate at times today, for some reason our early goal seemed to send us in to our shell; Bolton have some decent footballers, who exploited that for the rest of the first half and we were lucky not to go in behind. Second half a bit more even.
All the best for the run in - as I've said elsewhere I'm hoping we'll both end up in the automatic slots now; but I do think you're probably at the stage where you can't afford any slip ups in the last couple of games.
I've just poured a large glass of red. Enjoy your evenings, Rams.

We could have had 7 or 8 today. Clinical from set pieces, but we squandered so many chances from open play too. Could have had 3 in a single 5 minute spell towards around the 75th minute mark.
Credit where it's due; Warne will have known he would be absolutely crucified for the Bradley led back 3 call, had we lost, or drawn, so I hope even his fiercest detractors will acknowledge his courage and game strategy today. No way I'd have played Bradley, though IIRC both @Ghost of Clough and @DCFC1388 I think called his selection more or less bang on.
The stats don't exactly scream it, but we've absolutely battered them today and on B4's birthday too!
