  1. Doesn't that sentence contradict itself? The answer is because those teams aren't that good, and supports the point that the league isn't strong. Once again, what does that even mean? More waffle. Why don't you actually express an opinion for once? Because its almost unprecedented. Two even having points deductions. Its basically removing three strong rivals before the seasons started. Why can't you concede its a rare advantage to Derby. There's also examples of teams who have gone straight back up. We're a bigger club than the examples you gave, except Wednesday and Sunderland, and they were both still in the middle of their difficulties while in L1. Why put us down so much? I know you're going to say we have to deal with where we are, and the reality is we're a L1 club at the moment. But comparing us to Charlton? come on.
  2. What does that even mean? It just sound like meaningless corporate waffle. When was the last time all three relegated Championship teams weren't challenging for promotion the following season?
  3. Its not helpful to ignore caveats regarding how well the team is doing on a topic regarding how well the manager is doing. I agree, views and opinions are meant to be shared on the forum. You wouldn't think that recently given the vitriol directed at anyone who expresses any sort of negative opinion of Warne. All I did was highlight something obvious everyone's ignoring. What's wrong with that?
  4. Its good to be optimistic, but everyone saying "we're second" despite there being a glaringly obvious caveat isn't helpful, especially in this topic. Of course I hope Bolton lose their two games, but is it not more likely than not that they won't?
  5. I apologise for simply being realistic
  6. Can everyone stop saying "we're second in the league". It's highly unlikely we will be once Bolton play their games in hand
  7. Wilson isn't a right back, he's a wing back
  8. They've just got rid of Worrall. Do they have any home grown players left anymore? I hardly even know any of their players anymore. Its like they've just turned into a conveyor belt of mercenaries.
  9. I would agree apart from the fact we don't have another striker currently. I've always thought Waghorn was better when he was available. I do think you're harsh on Collins. He's just doing what the manager instructs to the best of his ability, and he's doing well in that regard. He's doing good overall.
  10. I never said it was easy. I'm confident Nelson would have scored at least one. Therefore his goal tally would be up as a result of being on pens.
  11. Yes, a penalty is worth the same as any other goal, I never said otherwise. Do you not agree the player who is on penalties generally gets more goals as a result? If Hourihane was on pens he would be on more goals this season and Collins on less. That's all I'm saying.
  12. Its not about how important penalties are. Of course they're important. The point is - the player who is on penalties gets an advantage over other players in terms of their goal tally for the season. Why is that so hard to understand?
  13. Just use your common sense. Obviously the penalty taker gets a bit of an advantage in goal scoring terms than other players, that's all I'm saying. If Nelson was on penalties for some reason his goal record would be up. Of course he'd probably miss more than Collins but still.
  14. I'm not saying a penalty shouldn't be counted at all, bit every clubs penalty taker has their stats inflated. You can't argue that it's just a fact. Using your example - what if the player who got pulled down wasn't the penalty taker? the penalty taker would get the goal they deserved in a way.
  15. Depends. Players get lucky goals now and then, but what if the tap in was a result of excellent movement? The thing about a penalty taker is - they might not even be involved in the winning of the penalty at all, but still get the goal at the end.
  16. Every clubs penalty taker has their stats inflated - this is just a fact. Obviously they still have to put them away so its wrong to remove them entirely like @Chris_Martin is suggesting. It is true however that they shouldn't be regarded as highly as a goal from open play.
  17. Oh god, please don't let @Chris_Martin see this.
  18. Well he's not that good at that either judging by his 1 assist all season. He's a wing-back. Blackett-Taylor will be the other winger with NML now anyway
  19. He has no shooting ability whatsoever
  20. That meets Warnes requirements.
  21. People are criticising him for not being strong enough in tackling etc. He's never been a good tackler, so why is he being asked to do it? He shouldn't even be running around this much. Isn't that what Fornah was bought for? The worst thing about that heat map is the place you want him to be the most is the place he is the least. That being around the D shooting.
