  1. Well done. You took my quote out of context. When I made that post we were 3rd and I was referencing the fact Bolton could overtake us if they won their games in hand, which they did.
  2. Where’s all the “it doesn’t matter if we’ve played 2 extra games, we’re second in the league” lot gone? Barnsley win their’s and we’re 4th. Well done to Warne though for beating perhaps the worst team we’ve ever played in a league match though.
  3. I've never seen you try and understand or give any sort of rational response to people who give genuine criticisms. You just turn up insulting and laughing at people.
  4. Still waiting for all those positives - that aren't about us being 2nd just because we happen to have played more games than others.
  5. Good point. I was referring to their energy levels while they're not injured😆. The amount of running and brutishness Warne demands our striker does makes it almost inevitable that they all get injured at some point.
  6. How bad would you have to be for the defence to get worse when you often play with only one or two natural attacking players?
  7. The one thing Warne has improved is the fitness levels, which has resulted in us getting a lot of late goals and out fighting teams. It makes sense considering he's a Fitness Coach. I'd be happy if he was our Fitness Coach.
  8. He shouldn’t be on the ball that much. He should be playing at the base of a midfield 3, freeing Hourihane and Bird from defensive duty’s. Don’t care what anyone says, Hourihane and Bird are the best two midfielders in the league if played the correct way.
  9. And how would you stop players switching off in games? Maybe through coaching perhaps? by the coach? You know the job they're paid to do. It's not even true our players switch off anyway. Considering we got the majority of our players from the Championship, you're saying they just instantly lost they ability to stay switched on as soon as they got here?
  10. 5 at the back formations are generally simpler and less sophisticated than others. They are also out of date, and have been for about 6/7 years when Conte was using it at Chelsea and Wilder was at Sheff Utd. The only teams that use to some level of success now are Wolves and Brentford, and they use it mainly to counter-attack given the opposition they usually play.
  11. Hate it when he says this. Its a cop out that blames the players either way. Either they don't work hard enough, or they do work hard enough but don't have the talent and there's no more he can do.
  12. He's just refusing to let the 5 at the back go. It doesn't work and it doesn't suit our club. I honestly think he's persisting with it because its the only system he fully understands. Even when we play with a back 4 it feels like there's large tactical elements just missing from our play like Warne just doesn't know how to play it fully.
  13. How did Warne actual plan on scoring in this game? Apart from a set-piece or bit of luck. It started off quite well but Charlton responded by doubling out wide in defence and that was it. Absolutely nothing from the manager after that. That's all it took to stop our entire attacking play.
  14. 2 attackers in the starting 11 this time. Really going for it.
  15. Exactly this. We never dominate teams or impose an identity. Warne sets us up with so much fear it gives every team we play a chance, even if they shouldn't have one. Because of this I'm never really that shocked when we lose a game, even though it doesn't happen often.
  16. If only we'd been able to cross it in just a few more times we would've won I'm sure.
  17. Who would've thought only playing 1 attacking player would make it difficult to score? Baffling.
  18. Mendez-Laing is the best player in the league. I've not seen any opposition player give their team what he gives ours. He's carried us all season similar to what Didzy did last season, if not more. Even if he's having a bad game, out of position and playing in terrible tactics, he still wins it for us.
  19. What are you shouting out Warne for? Setting us up in a formation that, as you say, doesn't work for us?
  20. So if teams finish above us, that must only mean they are good? Its impossible that they could be above us because we're bad, is it? Just because teams are "the benchmark", doesn't prove they're good. How does the fact no-one is pulling away in the league prove that its of high quality and competitive? It just proves there are no good teams, because a good team would be pulling away. Its an advantage in the fact that - the vast majority of the time, relegated teams are competitors for promotion the following season. Therefore its three direct competitors removed from the equation, fighting for three spots. Whether Reading/Wigan beat us in a one-off game is irrelevant. Its where they are in the league table.
