Heck. You’re a bundle of joy. As if Monday mornings weren’t depressing enough already.😀
I really don’t think there were many/any who would have seriously preferred us to go bust and start in a lower league. I reckon many were just trying to focus on the (few) positives if the worst ever did happen.
Regarding Clowes, he should be everyone’s hero at the moment for stepping in to same the club from a worse fate. If he needs to pump in a load of his own money to win you round then I think you’ll be sadly disappointed. I can’t see him splashing the cash (and rightly so). Plus, regardless of his wealth, and how much of it he might be foolishly prepared to risk on the club, the remaining restrictions may well limit this.
Finally, if the announcement of a shirt sponsor is likely to have thrilled anyone that’s just weird. Shirt sponsorship is just a necessary evil (it does nothing to enhance the appearance of the shirts) in order to generate income. We should just be hoping it’s not a silly name, an ugly appearance or an unsavoury business.

Turnstile reacted to DiggerB in Will the business plan still hold us back
It was always a 2 year plan. It’s just been loosened because we were good boys and girls last season - and by that I mean we didn’t go up, thereby receiving our lesson from the almighty EFL!

Turnstile reacted to CLOUGH1971-72 in Best Individual Derby Performance You’ve Ever Seen
Agree with McFarland vs Benfica Home or away. He’s the greatest Derby County Player of all time.
alan Hinton Vs Arsenal 1972 the 5-0
gemmill vs Chelsea at home 1972 huge win. Terrible wet bog of a pitch and gemmill just drove the whole team forwards. Incredible player.
John Ohare in the Tottenham 5-0
Todd vs juventus at home. Single handily kept an incredible juve side under control and also was great in attack.
Todd vs Liverpool at Home in 1972. What defending against keegan and toshack late on. Won us the league.
dave mackay away at forest in the 4-2 win.
john McGovern again Liverpool aswell.
ron Webster against Leeds at home in 1972. He smashed bremner

Looks like the EFL have already told the club the embargo will not be lifted & they've decided that promotion will be a poisoned chalice.

You’re not allowed to say that as it goes against the narrative, but yes he’s overrated but bigged up by folks on the bandwagon

Turnstile reacted to Tricky1884 in Derby County v Exeter City Tuesday 25 October
Sibley's had three very poor games ending him in being taken off at halftime partly because he's rubbish and partly because he collects yellow cards for fun. not sure why to be honest. It comes to something when we have to bring on an ageing striker before halftime to try and give us any spark upfront. I hope PW is a success, but I feel it's going to be too late this season and we'll be well out of the top six before we can get players in, I'm not 100% we won't get dragged into a relegation fight. I hope I'm wrong though.

The problem being ,we are run by the EFL for three years .Will Warne be allowed to “get who he wants”. Will the EFL make sure we are in League 1 (or worse) for three years? Probably I would say.

Love Sibbo and really willing him to be our superstar but second half tonight he was incredibly disappointing - wrong decisions, bad positioning, poor control and bad final ball. Dont think he is being blamed and shouldnt be as he was one of a few with sub-par games tonight

Turnstile reacted to sage in Ipswich v Derby (A) Matchday Thread - ‘and it’s live’
Worst passing performance by a Derby team in years.
Generally played well without the ball and gave every effort but the lack of quality on the ball was frightening

I don't know if he's like this all the time but whenever we play them he seems to have a complete meltdown.
Rapidly falling out of love with football it seems.

No because if it's deemed the refs mistake wasn't obvious he'll be banned for 4 games. If you appeal and we don't like it we penalise you more. Sounds like the EFL and why crap refs keep plying their trade.

Spot on. We are not in the position of allowing a nice guy to learn the ropes.

Turnstile reacted to RAM1966 in Paul Warne appointed as Head Coach
All the complaints saying DC is another mad Mel is ridiculous.
He made LR interim manager as he was clearly not sure if he was the right man, much better decision than the 3-5 year contracts MM was handing out to sack a manager a short time into contracts. It was a astute business decision if you ask me, Warne appears to know his way out of this Division so a 1 or 2 Year contract could be a wise move if its him to be appointed.
I'd suggest we should all calm the fook down and see who is appointed and how they perform, if this goes belly up DC has invested £53M, therefore he's the one with the most to lose.
Regarding the Ashley rumours, I've heard he is only interested in buying us once we are back in the Championship.
In DC I trust, our away form simply was not good enough and LR did not seem to have the answers, we also need to hit the Onion bag a bit more often at home too. If LR stays that's great as he is without doubt a great coach, if he goes, I wish him all the best, but, I think he needs to cut his teeth with a smaller club.
