  2. 1993 v Cremonese in the Anglo Italian Cup Final at Wembley. Ouch, can't remember much about the day itself! Definitely went in the Galleon Inn before though, i think there were 36000 + for Derby there.
  3. Everton 1989 and the chipped goal from Goddard!!! In the C stand that day What a player Goddard was if he had a bit more pace he would have been a world beater.
  4. Still bad around Langley Mill, Pinxton and Selston.
  5. Arsenal 1972 when we gave Bob Wilson a bad back!! The memorable goal is Hinton's into the Normanton End where he rifled a right foot thunderbolt past hapless Bob. This spell is the best i have seen Derby ever play from whacking Benfica at Home to drawing with Newcastle, amazingly it came to an end when we got beat at the Victoria Ground stoke. 4-0 !!! Stoke had the indian sign on us that season as they also thrashed us at the BBG.
  6. i thought he took a knock? and we we trying to save him for the relegation battle. We were due to play Brighton 3 days later and a win would have put us in touching distance of Fulham, Oldham and Palace who we were trying to catch. In the end we lost 3-0 and were a good few points off safety. At work at present but i will have look when i get home and see if there is anything in the records.
  7. Walking out the ground that night was the saddest moment of my football life, can still "feel" it when i think about it today. All i can remember through the sadness was hearing the Big Country song "Chance" on the way out of the ground. Just summed up what we were all feeling on masse.
  8. Watney Cup Final 8/8/1970 The only competition i have been to every game that Derby Played, including the 1st one at Fulham. I believe the competition was the first one to decide ties on Penalties. Red Hot day, we only qualified because we weren't allowed to be in Europe as we had been naughty boys and upset the EFL. (nothing changes eh)
  9. That was a night both on and off the pitch. Didn't get home until 4am ish. Missus wanted to know where i had been all that time. Didn't believe me at the time and probably still doesn't
  10. 1969 Derby 5 Spurs 0 Record attendance at BBG, In Ossie End at the back on the ledge.( to compensate for my short 8 year old legs!!!). Spurs with Greaves, Mullery, Jennings Mike Engalnd, Alan Gilzean and the late great Cyril Knowles didn't get a sniff.(nice one Cyril!!!)
  11. Burnley early 1974 at Home, Stood in Ossie end (usual spot) I think Leighton James scored a goal for Burnley
  12. Reading away, guessing 2009-10 season because of the squad but cant remember which year. Oops didn't see the above!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
  13. Finn Harps 12-0 1976 stood in the Vulcan pop side. THey were lucky to get 0. New DM's as it was just after my 15th Birthday Talking of DM it was one of his last games and even an 8-2 hammering of Spurs couldn't save him.
  14. 1/11/75 Game that was on MOTD and Fight of the week. Lee v Hunter Derby versus Dirty Leeds. Standing behind the Ossie End Goal, mouth agape about what i was witnessing.
  15. RIP FRANNY. You get the impression that everything he did in life was done with utter commitment zest and hard work. A man who had success with everything he touched be it playing football, administering football, training racehorses or manufacturing toilet roll. He probably never wasted a day in his life, that last game at Ipswich away, along with that goal at Man City and the fracas with Hunter will live with me forever. Cheers Franny Thank you for the memories.
  16. Coventry 1989, only remembered because of Blades goal. Game was the week before the Hillsborough Disaster i think. Sat in C Stand, goal was in the Normanton End an absolute screamer from 25 yards.
