That's assuming that we're dealing with a professional organistaion who have guidelines and procedures that are followed to the letter - unfortunately this is the EFL, which seems to be run by a bunch of executives most of whom couldn't find their own arse with both hands and a 1 to 1 scale map......

Good performance with some shoddy defending. In this evolutionary period I'd rather take that than a scrappy 0-0. Lots of positives and how good is Bird?!
As for the ref, I can forgive the pen as think you need to be 100% sure to award basically a goal. Much worse was the loads of basic wrong decisions and the continual fouling to stop our forward movement.
Bristol are pretty average but well in the playoff hunt.  If they are still in this division next season, we should be bypassing them.
I'm getting excited for next season which is weird. At this point we are usually on a downward spiral and knowing we'll a) lose in the playoffs if we hang onto them and b) change our manager.
We've already got a new centre back in for next year as Cocu plans to be here. New times.

Cor that was blooming cold, especially coming straight from the office.  I think I'm still thawing out four hours later!
I thought we were clearly the better team and it was a fair result and that's without the best three Derby players from this age group!  That's pretty impressive when you think about it.  Every member of that squad should be feeling ten feet tall.
Special mentions to Whitaker and Sibley.  It's clear to see why they've already been involved in and around the first team.  You'd have to think more will follow their lead from this group but as bodies and minds mature at different rates I wouldn't discount anyone at this point.
As for MOTM, I'd plump for J Brown.  Not seen him at CDM before but as @angieram pointed out a while ago he's really grown into that role.  I'm also beginning to think that as well as being A Brown's twin he might also be L Sibley's twin.  Quite some talent being a Brown twin and a blonde twin at the same time 🤪
A big up to fellow Rams who braved the elements, far more of us there than I expected.  Good fun with our limited singing section taking on the Borussia screaming horde too. And respect to the Germans, if only for their ability to get four syllables out of Bo-russ-see-ya 😂

Ps Oh and just because I'm not sure if @DavesaRam was trucking elsewhere:  The ref, despite letting the German's get away with some cynical stuff in the second half, had a good game.

I think this lad is outstanding.iv been watching max for some years now and he is starting to fulfil his potential.some of the young lads is the reason for getting no one in, cocu is sticking to his guns and has said there is no point bringing in someone that will block one of our kids.max has done very well but dont underestimate the influence of cocu on him.each player has an individual progression plan from the U16 up to the first team(and even younger i think).yes things have been a little slow and lacking in the first team this season but what is happening now is what has needed to happen for some seasons but we have only just found a manager that is willing to but his head on the block to achieve this.time and patience is need guys.this season will be hard but watch out for next season because with these kids and cocu the future looks very bright for the long term.

What last night proved was we don’t need new signings. The whole team was excellent and the master class from Rooney if you watch him closely he is directing the traffic all over the pitch.
This season the squad is good enough and there will be big changes in the summer there is no doubt about that.
Next season it will be Cocu team 100% last night you could clearly see how he wants his team to play  and you could see the players got it and perhaps that was the reason for the changes.
The movement was incredible Rooney, Lawrence.Martin and Waghorn all interchanging and the runs from Holmes were  superb.
Where we will need to improve on is in future matches When teams press us from goal kicks we need to deal with that as Stoke didn’t press us they let us have the ball and we took real advantage of that.
Rooney was a masterclass he just proves that you don’t need to run around like a idiot. He has a football brain. He makes everyone calmer Bird and Holmes look class and when Wayne gets even fitter this could be super excitement next season.
The future is bright it will be up and down but in Cocu we actually have a plan where he is looking ahead and we all need to buy into that.

Most of us are feeling disappointed because of the lack of signings which is absolutely understandable. After all, the club have set us up to feel disappointed. 'We are going to do our business early', is the one that stands out he most. I do feel the club should have gone about thing's differently, i.e. we won't be doing any business and then anything else is a added bonus? Derby COUNTY PLEASE LISTEN.. DON'T GET THE FANS HOPES UP, IT WILL END IN TEARS.
BUT, looking at the bigger picture, are we really going to be challenging for promotion this year? No. Any signings this month would be adding on to the wage bill for next to no reason (especially any loan deals). I know a new signing is always exciting for the fans but it could be a blessing in disguise this season to give our very talented youth very important minutes on the pitch.

Let's really get behind the young lads, I'm excited to see what Hector-Ingram can do. I'd like to see him given some time even as sub in the cup.
