Yep, I don’t think it should a surprise that it’s taking time for him to get fully used to the Championship. With everything that’s gone on, the Lampard saga, iffy pre season, poor transfer window and the recent fiasco. He’s doing a decent job already. The start wasn’t great, but we weren’t losing many games. Give the man time and he can produce something special here.

I think a bit like Farke at Norwich he needs time to bed the style he wants in, get players who will do it and offload those who can't. It's a long season and I think we may be in a good place as this one goes on. He has behaved with class so far and was good about the awful stuff he must have dealt with this week.

To be fair 7 without a win but only 2 losses in nine, (same as Leeds) isn’t dreadful. I honestly don’t care where we finish this season (as long as we’re not facing League One) I just want to see some green shoots of youth, togetherness and exciting football - in turn leading to some management stability for once

    You crazy people.
Warnock's teams play very unattractive football. He may be successful at getting teams promoted but he's also equally adept at getting them relegated one season later.
And, as for his whinging and whining. No thanks.
Be thankful that we have Cocu. Building for a sustainable stay in the Premier League. Now, no more of this nonsense about Colin. Thank you and good night.

Although I still think it holds true. Just hope we use the time wisely to instil a bit of confidence into the players. Only performances on the pitch will do that for the fans.

So first of all, I know about all the freedom of speech yabba jabba, but still. Some of the stuff I see on social media nowadays is uncalled for, and disgusting.
I'm not going to give examples because I don't feel like these people deserve any sort of publicity, but seriously?! tweeting AT players? so they see how disrespectful you've been? Ridiculous.
You have every right to say someone didn't perform well, or you feel someone doesn't fit in the team very well, but whats taking it too far is directly saying to the player "you're sh**" , "you're stealing a living" etc etc.
I wish people would think before they tweet, some of the abuse you see directed at players nowadays is awful (Mason Bennett yesterday, for example), we're of course not the only team who have fans that do it, but it absolutely does my head in when one player has a bad game and next thing you know their the next Colonel Gadaffi and everyone hates them. ridiculous.
If we want our players to perform, if we want them to put a shift in, how about backing them, supporting them, instead of tweeting at them "jeff off out our club, ur s***" or whatever, when they put on a tweet after the match motivate them, they're not going to build confidence with folk putting them down.
I know footballs frustrating, players can be frustrating, but people need to understand that giving abuse to a player isn't going to boost their confidence, and with Mental Health awareness becoming more of a thing in football, please just think before you tweet.
To all you folk who aren't one of these people, sound job.
    Uppa rams.

Yeah they’ve obviously made the decision that he’d never gonna make it, certainly not ahead of other players. And I have to agree that Lowe is obviously the far greater talent (our best LB imo) and Buchanan looks a talent too (though his best position is unclear yet). Both obviously made it to the first team squad properly before macdonald. And obviously I agree we’ve got too many first team left backs anyway.
Its just that, imo, I consider youngsters a bit differently. If I was in charge of the club, when assessing young players I’d worry less about how many players are ahead of them in the first team, and more about whether they’re going to make it, and probably most importantly, whether they’re at maximum value. The former I think is hard to judge without some decent loans first to see where they are currently, and whether they have enough development time to make it to our level. So I’d have preferred to see him loaned to league one before being sold like i said. The second point is more a business perspective. A lot of prem clubs are quite good at making money out of their academy which helps towards FFP- they do that by selling their youngsters after a number of loans spells when they reach maximum proven value, even if they’re never likely to make it at their level. I think this is a good, albeit risky, strategy to take, and I’d like to see us follow it. Naturally, deciding when a player has peaked is hard and risky, and the club probably have decided macdonald has hit peak value- I trust wassells judgement there like you do. Just a point on academy strategy really, I think Mel has said similar before.

This is not some version of FIFA or whatever game is currently in vogue ,it's the real world . I don't give a monkey's about Bielsa and what his team are doing, how did it work out for them last season after "running away " with it ?

Yes, there is a certain irony in people who demand loads of new signings every season and then wonder why we are always in transition.
The club has also been unlucky in that our last two managers have left us but the good thing is there is now a longer term plan in place, regardless of all the above.
I may be in a minority (or just have seen too many seasons of football now) but I honestly don't think there's a known recipe for success at this level. We just throw more or less similar ingredients into the mix and hope the result is a tasty dish.
A little bit of trial and error, a little bit of tweaking here and there is probably what we now need.
