Gday Bruce, time to throw another Sheila on the Barbie and settle in for the Australian grand Prix from prince Albert park.
The main source of entertainment is likely still to be "what Christian did" rather than actual racing.
Fortunately, there's MotoGP from portamento as well, which is likely to be much more fun and on at a more humane time.

Boro, Birmingham or Wycombe, and I have absolutely no sympathy and will happily join in.

You aren't a Derby fan. You've never once posted anything that isn't comically negative and frankly a bit daft. How you can be posting such rubbish after a hugely important win like that blows my mind really.

Seriously do you go to games? If you do are you this negative at those games? If you are then take your support elsewhere, we don’t need “supporters” like you. There are negative posters on here but most are reasoned in their views or they do give praise when it’s due. Your comments are beyond negative almost to the point where I’d question if the team you really support wears red and plays about 15 miles east of Derby.

So, a hard fought win against a fellow promotion rival, only 1 point behind us, is a stinker and relegation candidate type of performance? Comedy gold.
What on earth do you mean “Bolton are by all accounts a +1.5 side, maybe a +2”? And by who’s account?

Which bit do you find hard to believe? 3 attacks of note at home all game is extraordinary in itself for an autos contender.
Bolton are by all accounts a +1.5 side, maybe a +2. They created 2 chances aggregate more than us, making us a 0. That's mid-table, if you then take away home advantage -questionable for us this year- it's almost a relegation candidate type of performance.

Yes, but those two are on the near side where they would not have been able to see any contact between the ball and Waghorn's arm. The two standing right adjacent to Waghorn with a clear view of the ball didn't appeal at all which is strange if they saw it touch his arm. I think those appealing were perhaps just assuming it touched his arm. I don't doubt though that VAR would have disallowed it because any ball to hand review seems to favour the appellants.
Compared to the refereeing controversies in the first game though, this is minor because the ball was going in the net anyway.

That particular “hitting the bar” wasn’t as close as you can get to a goal. It bounced on the top of the bar so it wasn’t heading into the goal.

What would bring you joy in football? It appears beating a promotion rival in what was essentially an evenly balanced game isn’t the answer. Here’s how I saw it as someone who likes seeing their team win football Matches, with some of the stats I can find online to support my view…

    - The team we all (supposedly) support showed grit and determination to earn a key result yesterday, big plus for me there.

    - The possession stats are fairly even (44% to us 56% to them) which backs up what I saw during the game, they had spells with the ball and we had spells with the ball.
    - The attempts on goal, well we had 10 shots with 3 on target and they had 6 shots with 3 on target, so they didn’t create massively more than we did in terms of attempts which tallies with what I saw yesterday.

    - 6 corners and 1 yellow card a piece, pretty balanced there.
    - we made a total of 280 passes with 62% accuracy, they made a total of 385 with 67% accuracy so they won there…I did however notice our players intentionally standing off their defence and allowing them to have the ball which seems a tactical decision to allow them the ball, so my simple observation there is we allowed them to pass it more and they didn’t do much with it…
    - the stats I’ve found say we had 1 big chance each and missed 1 big chance each…. Balanced again.
    - we had 3 blocked shots, they had 1. Our keeper made 3 saves, theirs made 2. So while our keeper was busier they blocked some of our efforts which could have resulted in their keeper making more saves…
    - we made 9 interceptions to their 3 and 32 clearances to their 25, backing up the work our defence did to keep them out.
    - we scored 1 goal, they score 0.
So in summary, as I thought yesterday and still today having looked over the numbers, it was a balanced game between two teams at this level, both had chances, both defended well, each side approached the game slightly different to the other and we scored from a set piece to win…. Hooray!

I’d be embarrassed about being a Bolton fan coming on here talking about how they battered us: xG was 0.46 to 0.49.
They were unlucky not to get a draw, but sideways passing between the centre backs, occasionally rotating into midfield and back to the centre backs, isn’t exactly the ‘battering’ you think it might be.

    Credit to our Goalie?
Maybe if he wasn't sent off incorrectly at your place the points gap between us would be even greater.

I don’t think Bolton were miles better than us. The football they play is a lot easier on the eye and is nice to watch as they move it around waiting for space to exploit but I think we were solid and had it not been for the odd poor touch here and there we’d have done a lot more on the counter attack.

Anyway players need to forget it and focus straight on to the next match. Only Derby playing on Saturday out of the mini league of 5 at the top. Psychologically could be massive heading into the busy Easter period 7 points ahead of second and 2 points off top with superior goal difference. It turns the heat up on everybody around us when they’re cramming more games into a shorter time frame. We have to back yesterday up with a result at Northampton.

No doubt our Bolton friend will be back to let us know we cheated and conned the ref for another goal this week.

I was sat in the east stand towards the north end - in line with our back 4 in the second half - and it was a joy to watch
As most others have said Cashin and Foz were amazing. Mopped up everything and read the game brilliantly.
I felt we invited more pressure than was healthy, but my god they dealt with it. Cash revving up the crowd in the last 10 mins was immense.
Felt like 32,000 voices singing was double the sound of the normal 27k.
What a noise. What a buzz.
    cacophinous and raw. Brilliant.
At the time, really questioned bringing on Smith for Gayle when we had Waghorn on the bench but that actually gave us our best run of play for the last 20 minutes of the 1st half. Felt like we were on top. The 3 subs at half time seemed to disrupt that a bit, but apparently for precautious reasons. So if you think about it, we had 4 injury subs in the 1st half and still won the game in the 2nd. That’s the kind of thing promotion winners do. 🐏

WOW,,,, think that covers yesterday, the whole day was ducking WOW ,
second v third must not lose game and that’s what we got ,
what swung the game to a narrow derby win ?
    1. The culture Paul warne has built and is building at derby from bringing in the right type of people as players to fitness to those players being treated in a way that makes them want to run through brick walls for the shirt and the manager,
    2. the fans , our fans , my tribe , premier league ? You can keep that , yesterday was a league 1 game and you couldn’t touch that , it’s why I fell and stayed in love with derby all these years , yeah we have some moaners on here but they just drift into insignificance when you are in the ground and supporting your team, where we are and supposed standard of football mean nothing when put against yesterday, if you are not moved by yesterday and oh so glad you were in the ground or wishing to hell you were there then football is not for you ,
I was moved big style by the fans and warne interaction at the end , he didn’t bounce but that’s a mark of the man , im sure he will bounce if/ when he actually delivers the prize , he’s not lampard ,
for me warne is manager next season no matter what division we are in

That was massive today. Wildsmith, Nelson and Cashin all immense but special mention to Foz. What a guy.
Also huge credit to Warne. I think all his subs, whether forced or not, made a difference. It would have been easy to replace Gayle with Waggy but it was crucial to get the extra body in midfield and stop Bolton from dominating. The changes at half time all worked. Wilson was a threat all half, Tommo brought loads of energy and possession, Waggy is still getting back to fitness but good to be able to bring on a striker and he played his part. And how about Elder’s first touch?
I’ve seen a lot of criticism of Hourihane and today wasn’t his best game - and he wasn’t suited to playing in a midfield 2 against Bolton’s midfield. He will make contributions over the rest of the season though, the whole squad will. I really hope CBT gets a chance soon and shows what he’s made of.
I would say I enjoyed it today but I really didn’t! I was tense as hell but I really enjoyed the result and the table looks very healthy indeed. Also, the atmosphere was amazing - both sets of fans did their clubs proud. Was very satisfying to shut them up though, didn’t hear a peep out of them after we scored.

Interesting today how many fans stayed until the end and even after the final whistle , looked like almost no one went early for a change.
