    Phenomenal indeed.
He's a young manager who needs time and a better squad than we currently have. Plenty of our former managers have had those two things without being personally castigated over it.
Oh and plenty of our former 'more experienced' managers have failed - including the one before Rooney in case you missed seeing.

The team I support is absolute dog mess, flirting with relegation and showing no signs of improving in the near future...so no, of course not!
But hey, what a player Rooney was in his day, right? Phenomenal!

Completely disagree, there is far more quality in the squad than is being shown currently. Maybe we as fans need to up our expectations too as many are tolerating these unacceptable performances!

No, this is NOT a joke thread.
I’ve been a Rooney man, but I’m sick of negative team selections.
If he is so blind to see that a midfield 3 of Shinnie/Bird and Knight does not work, then he needs to get gone.
We lost the game today when the team was announced.
Surely we MUST start the game with at LEAST 4 attacking players. Against Luton we started with 4 attackers and won comfortably. Before anyone points out that Wag/Gregory were out, start with Joswiak today instead of Knight and that’s a better attacking balance.
Some may also point out that Clarke wasn’t playing and we needed to load midfield, but it’s too negative an argument - We need more attack minded players to keep the ball at their end of the pitch, away from our defence.
It’s just so boring and predictable that we set up to defend, go a goal down, then have to throw on attacking players to try and rescue a point, I didn’t even bother to watch the 2nd half today and I don’t think I’ve ever purposely done that.
No, it’s not good enough Wayne. You did a good job taking us out of danger but, given that other results went against us today, you’re anti-football is taking us the wrong way again.
We’re now back in the running as serious relegation contenders.
So sort it out fast or get gone and let’s get a manager with a bit of attacking chops, like Chris Wilder, his hell-for-leather approach may have been found out in the Prem, but let’s try and get there first and we’ll worry about that later.

But I thought Cardiff were so invincible that it simply wasn’t worth playing our first team so we could rest them for defeat at the weekend. Are we saying this wasn’t the case? What a bunch of cockwombles we have running our club.

By not trying to do it.
By obsessing so much about the opposition's game that we forget about our own?
By having a manager who wants so desperately to be a tactical genius at the expense of trying to win?
    By being awful?

I'm echoing others' points here, but if we finish outside of the relegation zone, then we deserve to stay up. If we don't, then we deserve to go down.
Although if we finish one place above the relegation zone and Sheffield Wednesday go down, you could argue we won't have deserved survival. At the very least, it would mean we'd be very, very lucky.

Dunno yet. We'll know if we deserve to stay up after the final game.
    We'll get what we deserve.

Well played by Shinnie there. Doesn't get the credit he deserves for being able to create things. Definitely been one our more consistent performers this season.

Probably because Waghorn is actually a winger/wide forward whereas Sibley isn't, and shouldn't be played there with 3 up top.

Seemed pretty harsh on Roos to drop him when Marshall was back, to be honest.

I actively dislike this squad. I don't care who gets sold or who we keep this summer. I'd bin the lot and start from scratch if I could.
I'm done for the season. I need a break from this constant frustration. See you in a few months folks whichever league we end up in.

Unfortunate we couldn't take our chances when they arrived. We played alright, I fear for us in the second half though.

Reserving right to comment in the future as the evidence to date is inconclusive is absolutely fine and sensible.
I think it's not so much that people are "anti Rooney", it's more that people are anti a "pro Rooney" bandwagon that is making various pronouncements of managerial genius based on thin to zero evidence.

A lot of very good points & certainly right to call out the lower standard Rooney is held to from some vehemently anti-Cocu posters, compared to Cocu .
Just to defend the patience shown to Cocu, there was more rationale behind it than blind faith. Firstly, he'd proven elsewhere to be a good manager so supporters had a track record to point to (can argue fairly whether PSV prepared him for the Championship). Secondly, his management of youth was excellent & the emergence of Bird and Sibley last Jan-March coincided with a very strong run & some good performances pre-lockdown. Lastly, he had to contend with constant off field distractions including a soft transfer embargo last Jan. No disputing he had to go by November but the presence of Rooney at that point looked more corrosive than an actual asset.
Faith in Rooney is largely based on him scraping results with a squad he himself says is much better than bottom 6/finished 10th last season & a blind faith he will turn out to be as good a manager as he was a player.
As to next season, I suspect we will be sold in the summer when our status is confirmed & crowds are allowed back so making us a more attractive buy. My concern is whether a short term pragmatist is the right man to be spending that money. Our regression since the start of 2015 has largely been because of money entrusted to either novice managers or unashamedly short term focused managers (Clement, Rowett, Lampard). Rooney ticks both boxes. We need a different direction in my opinion & whilst I wouldn't fire Rooney if he kept us up, my number one preference would be for a wealthier club to take him off our hands in the summer (Sheff Utd or West Brom might be good fits)

Bielik was a huge factor, but also Rooney haven't had to select badly underperforming and mutineering captain called Rooney to his playing side.

Why is it needed? We've already vaccinated 60% of the population, people are willingly taking it, why do we need to resort to extortion? This is the **exact** purpose of civil liberties, there are no circumstances where they should be trampled over.
