Can you imagine the absolute meltdown amongst the fanbase if Morris had basically come out and said he didn't like/trust/whatever Kirchner and wasn't going to deal with him?  The same with the EFL and Quantuma really.  Kirchner passed the basic tests he was required to pass, and had all the hallmarks of a reputable businessman - it wasn't like he was that random Sheikh who may or may not be related to the Man City lot, or that Spanish guy who seemingly had very little beyond an Instagram profile (which was probably faked anyway), or any of the other chancers who cropped up over the years.  He owned a legit business, had major financing from reputable companies and was actively involved in sports sponsorships.
If any of MM/the EFL/Quantuma etc had come out and said they weren't dealing with Kirchner, then Kirchner would have been all over Radio Derby/social media etc saying he was trying to save Derby and whoever was stopping him doing it.  It would have been chaos.

I’m not for one second suggesting that I was anything other than a bog standard village footballer but I played all of my football at left back, despite being right footed.
Over time, you adapt and I could cross the ball, shoot or take free kicks with either foot. No excuses for those who play for a living.

When the club you have supported for a great majority of your life is going to be saved...most if not all were pleased beyond belief, Yes there may have been 1 or 2 who didn't fall for it, But imo we were all caught up in these negotiations.
What went on in the meantime will leave a very sour taste in my mouth until I get the calling, Quantuma were in bed with the EFL as much as they accepted all that went against DCFC and were told if they didn't appeal that would be the end of the matter, They didn't appeal, The 12 point deduction I have no issue with, The extra 9 points that were dished out could and should have been appealed...but the EFL did and then we were screwed.
The EFL with their "we can't get involved when 1 club sue's another club" altho I believe there's in their rules that 1 club can not sue another club, They let Boro loose to hold up any sale until MM came along and pissed circa £3million to Boro.
The ambulance chaser says DCFC paid up, Until I see evidence I'll believe he was blowing smoke up their supporters ass's.
So no finger pointing where the Yank is concerned but a bucket load of fingers pointing at the Admin/EFL for their callous shenanigans

I find it a difficult one to call. The right cross from Ward wins a game, he has excellent ability to put pace and bend on a pass. Not seen any in this league who can get that dangerous low trajectory but Wilson is such a fighter who has that ability to beat a man properly. Rare these days. Neither excel defensively. … Glad I’m not a manager. !

It’s a hard week. Daniel’s brick is being laid at PP this week. Daniel loved owls, so I bought a small owl ornament for the brick. Trying to distract myself with work but it’s hard

Yes I thought the MM bit was most interesting, I do hope we do end up hearing a bit more from his side. Although the idea he was sceptical yet still willingness to work with Kirchner to agree a sale of his club seems a bit of a stretch to me.
I’ve got to be honest I just don’t think it’s a great article though. There’s a pretty obvious ‘joining of dots’ here that isn’t addressed in that whether its the supporters groups, MM, Garry Cook, The EFL, the Administrators or Stretford , none of them take responsibility for what they nearly did to Derby County. No one goes ‘we got this wrong and we added to the months of limbo for Derby County fans who didn’t know whether they would have a club by the of the season’, and I think it borders on disgraceful from those who fell for Kirchner hook, line and sinker and they all seemingly pop up in this article without much criticism. It’s also poor that the article has no reference to the fans and what we were going through because of Kirchner’s actions
I also find it poor that supposedly Preston’s board are unsure about Kirchner but seemingly do not raise any alarm bells to the EFL. If you want to see a part of what’s wrong with football then I think that’s a good example.
Like most football journalism today, it about scratches the surface on a subject but there is zero depth.

We head into the last round of fixtures, Pompey already champions and having a party at Lincoln who get the win they need to make the playoffs. We’re 2nd on 88pts, posh and Bolton on 87pts, we have a superior goal difference.

Half time and we’re 0-1 down following a really nervy performance, fans in full voice trying to urge the team on but becoming nervous and agitated with the performance. But news comes through from London Road that it’s 1-1 and despite being behind we’re still going up.
Into the second half and the fans find their voice again the team up their performance levels but the keeper is having a blinder, we equalise on 65 minutes, it’s still 1-1 at London Road. Time ticks onto 85 mins we’ve missed countless chances as Carlisle are hanging on trying to salvage something from a difficult season but then groans around the stadium, Bolton have scored and lead Posh 2-1, Bolton are going up. In the same moment a misplaced pass from Hourihane puts a Carlisle striker through on goal it’s curtains for our auto chances he rounds Wildsmith and shoots it’s going but who else but Cash gets there on the line to keep it out, the crowd roars again, we’re due a chunk of stoppage time due to Carlisle’s time wasting tactics, the board goes up, it’s 8 mins, the crowd roars again. It’s finished at London Road, Bolton have won. They think they’re up but they’re nervously waiting for our game to finish. 95 mins. We’ve thrown everything at Carlisle but the ball just won’t go in. We get a throw on the right hand side, Nelson for once goes short to Bird, he cuts inside plays the ball to the edge of the box Hourihane let’s the ball come across him evading the Carlisle player onto his left foot and with perfect technique he drills it into the bottom corner from 20 yards!!!
Pandefuckingmonium ensues!! We’re up and the much maligned Hourihane has bookended his Derby career by scoring the first goal of the new era post administration and the goal to take us back to the Championship.
