I've come round to wanting him to stay just to see how the press backtrack more so than wanting him to stay for Derby County's sake!

I think he achieved quite a lot. But that depends on whether you thought rowett was taking us backwards or were one of the many singing "we've got Gary Rowett, we've got....." As we got thrashed at burton.
promoting bogle was a huge call. There certainly aren't many championship clubs with an 18 year old playing a full season. The change from wisdom to bogle was symptomatic of the shift from physicality to football. He changed the style and the ethos of the club. He reduced the average age of the team and created a foundation to build on. Bennett was much improved etc etc. For a first season he could hardly have done much more. Wembley should have been the opportunity for him to showcase everything he had created and achieved but unfortunately fear got the better of us and we were too timid.

I've decided to have a little look at his time at WBA as a coach in general to try and shed some light on what we're potentially going to end up with:
He started out as very much 'backroom staff' at WBA and looked after the players going out on loan from their academy. He's always struck me as a counselor; a gentle giant. He's always been a leader. He's a guy that always had the backing from his players since day  one at WBA - academy lacky or not. It earned him a promotion to a first team coach in December 2017 under Pardew - within four months he was the stand-in manager.
He took over a team with one win in 30 league games. A team with as many managers as league wins. A team with problems throughout the entire squad. It's understated just how poor that WBA team was. He won 3, drew 2 and lost just 1 in the six league games he was manager in - including a win at Old Trafford and against Tottenham. He only lost in the last game. You have to give him enormous respect considering he took over after a run of eight losses on the bounce. He certainly deserved the permanent job at the end of the season and got it.
West Brom did have an expensively assembled side. I doubt anyone would argue that. He did lose a lot of good players during the summer and wasn't afforded the entire budget in order to replace them - Evans, Chadli, Rondon, Foster & McClean. He spent roughly £10m bringing Bartley and Johnstone to the club, plus Gayle on loan amongst others. Harvey Barnes proved to be instrumental and they're very unfortunate they couldn't keep him for the season. When you consider the talent squandered in the Stoke team, along with the players Villa had at their disposal. I don't think he was doing an unacceptable job. WBA were dead and buried before he took over and whilst I don't think they would have been promoted with Moore in charge, they would've definitely finished the season much better. I've heard the WBA team was too good to stay down, but there isn't many players in that squad that deserve to be playing Premier League football week-in, week-out. They have a squad filled with established players on big money that they are unlikely to get ever again.
As I said: he wouldn't be my first choice, but I'm not knocking his achievements. He's done a respectable job and I think the job he had at WBA was certainly difficult to turn around. He's easy to support and back - he's a great guy. I just think that we shouldn't be looking to reinvent the wheel. Hughton proved at Brighton he can take a team with a similar budget and team into the Premier League and keep them there. Moore has shown promise, at the moment it's all it is. It's important to note that we, reportedly, pay Lampard more in his first job than Hughton ever earned at Brighton. It shows that his wages shouldn't be an issue.

What if Frank and his team report for work 1st July as required? I don't get the drama. If Derby have anything to say I'm sure they will. This demand for info is only here due to the curse of social media.

Something has to happen this week. We can't go into a situation where a manger comes back for pre season and leaves a week into it. I can see Chelsea making an approach and Frank leaving. This past month has been disgusting from the press. Every rag has posted an exclusive on absolute drivel. To be honest I'll be glad when the circus is out of town and we can concentrate on building a team.

Imagine if you, MRisG, had just enjoyed an exciting debut season managing Plymouth Argyle. You’d really settled into the area and you’d made no secret of the fact that you’d really enjoyed your time there. Everyone knows that you’re a lifelong lifelong Derby fan and, a week before Plymouth’s biggest game of the season, you get asked about managing Derby, a team who still have a manager under contract and a play-off final to contest. Naturally, you dismiss the speculation and reiterate that you’re under contract at a club that you feel part of. As anyone would.
Fast forward two weeks and the Derby job is now available. Mel Morris asks you to come in and help the club at a difficult time. You still mean every word of what you said about your time at Plymouth, but you know that the opportunity to manage the club you love might never come again. Plymouth are in a better place than you found them in and the fans love you.
Surely you take the job? The sentiment about Plymouth remains, however, and you still retain a fondness for the club. I don’t see why people are painting Frank to be a traitor.

Ladies , ladies ..........we are all getting very wound up by this whole situation. Let's not degenerate into a free for all slag every one off and fall out with everyone scenario which is what the London WUMs and wind up merchants/Press want us to. They are wetting themselves over this. Frank strikes me as a sensible man. He's got people everywhere trying to influence his decision. He will make his own mind up . Yes I think at face value Chelsea seem to be taking the rise over this. We don't know what is going on behind the scenes ......Will we ever know the whole truth ? ....I guess not. One way or another this situation WILL resolve itself. Just calm down and wait for the fat lady to do her warm up ?

I don't understand it at all. Nothing's happening, Derby are still preparing for the new season with Lampard as manager yet he's getting criticised for things other people are doing and talking about. Even if he were to go, taking the sentimentality out of it, any manager would be crazy to not want to go from the championship to a champions league club. The mentality of 'he owes us' doesn't make sense to me at all.

Lampard has literally done nothing and he's now tainted for you? What do you want him to do? If he said anything he'd be picking sides and alienating one set of fans, especially as Derby have still not been approached by chelsea, so there's nothing he really can say, he's said all there is to say at the end of last season. There's no one to pledge allegiance to, as he's done that with Derby and Chelsea haven't approached Derby.
Really is damned if he does and damned if he doesn't. Does that mean if, all the media stuff ends up being guff and he stays, you'd want him sacked for literally doing nothing?
