I think there are 2 or 3 posters who are just wind-up merchants and I tend to disregard most of their comments. They seem to get off on criticising individuals at the Club, in particular Bradley and Warne, not so often Collins nowadays who each week is now managing to keep them quiet.
I'm no fan of playing 5 at the back but without Nyambe today, Warne's hands were somewhat tied and putting either Ward or Wilson at RB could have seriously weakened our defence if put under pressure by Fleetwood. For the one goal we did concede, Bradley must shoulder some of the responsibility for not being tighter on the scorer but Cashin was in no-mans land 4 or 5 metres in front of Stockley and with no-one to mark. I'm a huge fan of Cashin and thrilled we've activated the one year extension to his contract but he has to shoulder some of the blame but hey, much easier to make Bradley the sole player responsible.

On reflection, doesn't it seem remarkable that such a good young player could be without a contract going into a new season?

DenmarkRam reacted to DavesaRam in Derby v Lincoln City
I am a retired HGV driver, so i have no aspirations to work in the media, thank you very much. I just like to give my opinion, as does everybody else on this forum. It is what forums are for. All I want to do with this "verbosity" is express my frustration taht we are consistently underperforming while it being obvious that we can do so much better, and have proved it several times, only to go backwards once more.
And no, I don't think he sets the team up to play poorly, he sets the team up the way that he wants it to play. Which is what he should be doing. But ..... cast your mind back to last season, when he wanted to play a wing-back system , but didn't have the players to do it. Unfortunately, for whatever reason we didn't manage to recruit the players to enable his particular system. But that didn't stop him trying to impose it on the players he had available.
My comments are based on the fact that injuries forced him to change our formation, after which we went on a run of good results. But as injured players returned, he reverted to his preferred system, and the results stopped. We have had the same thing this system, with the team struggling to get results once more. And once again, there was the insistence on the preferred system, with even less fruitfulness. Until the disasters against Crewe and Stevenage in particular, with the consequence that the fans started to turn on the team, and on the manager - noticeably it was the away fans, whose support is tremendous, that made the most noise. It seemed as though Warne threw his hands in the air and let the team play to its strengths, and off we went on this terrific run, which is still in progress. But the worrying signs were there on Saturday, and instead of involving the midfield in addition to using the channels, we went back to bypassing them. You might notice comments about Max Bird, Connor Hourihane and Louie Sibley being ineffective. Well they would be when the ball was being whacked out to the wings at every opportunity. It might have been a one off, but lo and behold last night it was clear in the first half especially that the honeymoon was over, and we were back to Warne's preferred wings and crosses methodology. And we were back to creating very little threat at all, apart from the few flashes of "proper" football which did give us attempt at goal. And it was only after the substitutions that we started to dominate what was actually a very well organised, hard working opposition team, but which actually threatened very little. Yes, credit to him for making the changes, and it might well have been that he planned it that way, knowing that Wilson and Sibley would unlock the Lincoln defence, but given the pattern we have already seen all too often, I am not so sure.
Our defensive stats have come from the partnership between Cashin and Nelson, and credit to Warne for settling those two together. We also have a great goals scored figure, but most of that has come since we started to play football. And yes, I will have a go about the incessant crossing, because it has produced so little in return. We were crossing the ball poorly, either to high or too deep, to a lone striker who was battling defenders who are inevitably taller than him, or who was so busy doing all is "off the ball" work that he is late arriving. His "in the box" work has improved, curiously since we changed our style, with our crosses now being to feet as well as in the air.
So all this is me showing my frustration that having, for the second time, shown that this team really can do the business we have reverted back to the system which is proven to not be effective. Why?
Oh, and by the way ....... you don't have to be "impressed" by what I put on here, it is just an opinion, just like everybody else's. If you don't think much to it, so what, you don't have to. And I don't mind either way. Put me on ignore, if you like, I won't take offence.

I'm I alone in not being too bothered about getting into the Premier League? As it stands, you can't challenge for the title without billions, and the idea of every season being a relegation battle doesn't fill me with joy. Brighton have an appealing model, focussing on buying young talent, developing them and selling on, but Southampton have shown how hard that plan is to maintain.  And the idea of becoming a consortium club making money for some faceless investment group fills me with dread.
For the time being, I just want to see sustainability, a thriving academy, and a strong community presence, and I get the impression that's the current focus. Championship football will come sooner or later.

I wouldn’t describe the game, or the league in general, as “boring”. Just short on quality. Last season, I went to a Tamworth game and difference in quality between that league and ours was even more obvious than that between the Championship and League 1. But I enjoyed the game perhaps partly because I was a relative neutral and could just enjoy/cheer/laugh at what I was watching. Same with if I was watching a game down the park on a Sunday morning. It wouldn’t be champagne football but there would probably be goals, goal scoring opportunities, penalty area scrambles, good tackles, missed tackles, the occasional good passage of play etc that would keep me off my mobile phone.

Maybe some of us are, understandably, allowing our enjoyment of the games to be marred by our desire to see Derby win and win handsomely and confusing lack of enjoyment with boredom. 🤷🏻

Until the last week it has been a long time since I had been at a Derby Match. My Dad has said I’ve probably seen some of the best football so far this season. So, this thread is starting with genuine positivity from me, as my brother Daniel (B4) would also have done. This match means so much more to the Beavis family than any result. We want everyone to wave their scraves and flanges (not literally, ladies 🙈) and raise the roof for both DCFC and Daniel. Please share the details of the applause far and wide.
I’m reliably told I need to predict a 3-0 win to Derby.
My dad, Andy and I, will be in the east stand, stairway 35. We’ll be having a drink before the match and at halftime. Please do come and say hello.

Doesn't it make you feel a right cynical miserable old boot when someone like B4 can always find positivity.
Sometimes you wanted to tell him, look. We aren't going to smash the league. Stop it. Forest didn't cheat. Stop.
But you know, if the worst thing about you is blind positivity and faith then you're not a bad human, are you.
No matter how dreadful Derby could be he found positives. Sometimes I think many sarcastically said (even if just inwardly) "I wish I was on what he's on"
Imagine if we all were. All off our heads on positivity and belief.
You could almost feel ashamed now for not having his attitude.
Much love to B4 and his family and friends. Been on here for what? 13 years or something. Some great characters and lovely people. He won't be forgotten here. You just know it.

We played Notts Co in the EFL Trophy in the midweek before a postponed game so no reason we cannot play this cup game.
If anything it will potentially give us chance to give Elder, Waghorn and maybe even John-Jules some minutes before the break.

    I wouldn’t exactly call a £40m a year wage bill a good foundation.
Gary Rowett (with the backing from an incredibly naive Mel), gambled on promotion in that season with no thought of the consequences of missing out.
Davies, Huddlestone, Ledley, Jerome, Wisdom and Lawrence all ballooned our wage bill and we got not return from them.
Rowett then left the trainwreck the moment he could as he knew we were done while Vydra was going to leave, Nugent was shot and the ageing players were in decline.
Then Lampard fluttered his eyelids and Mel embarked on one last mad do-or-die campaign like a roulette player mortgaging his house and putting it all one one row.
