desirelines reacted to ariotofmyown in New SBW podcast: 'Three-Five-Boo'
Good, sensible analysis as an antidote to the craziness.

I'm surprised that Brighton are interested. I thinK Cashin is a talented young player, but his ceiling is the Championship imo. He's not a natural ball-playing centre back, he's not particularly tall or fast. I don't really see him as the type of player Brighton go for (a Levi Colwill for example).
Would be sad to see him go, but for £3m+ (and potential loan back), I'd shake their hand and take the money.

I think if he moves to Brighton it will go a similar way to Matt Clarke.
He was in the last year of his deal at Pompey in League One. Brighton signed him for around £5 million.
He was loaned out to us, WBA and Boro. Before signing permanently for Boro without ever playing for Brighton.
When you have got as much money as Brighton do you can afford to take the risk.

desirelines reacted to Andicis in Is Warne living on borrowed time?
My thoughts are that this is an embarrassingly reactionary thread 2 games into a season.
-
desirelines reacted to Ram1988 in Is our budget any bigger than last year?
I feel we have done well. Getting in seasoned professionals who have experience of getting promoted and fit the PW style of the play.
The one massive weakness we have is a lack of goal scorers. Hopefully that could be addressed with one or two signings though.

Coming along nicely, much more balance to the side. Count me as happy so far.

Only recently I remembered how badly that period of administration affected my enjoyment of football. Completely fell out of love with the game. One year one since the club was saved, and I'm feeling much brighter about Derby County and football in general.

Administration was horrible and something I hope we never go through again. However, weirdly it has been one of my favourite seasons of football for a long time. The fans, players and manager came together. The atmosphere was the best it’s ever been at PP. Everyone was against us and we played like that too. Some of my favourite memories from the last 5 years or so was from that season. Wba, Fulham, bmouth, sheff U at home. Incredible atmospheres

You won't be alone in wanting signings in asap - we all do but it is very early in the window (as you do say in fairness) & hence is too early to make an assessment on whether the situation is bleak or not. About a month early I reckon.
Had to check dates but roughly this time last year we were chasing Chris Kirchner around a golf course (see below tweet) & yet by July 2nd, we had an impressive batch of names announced to play for us.
In contrast to last year's chaos, we now have stable ownership, a Head of Recruitment, the EFL restrictions have loosened & a fairly compelling project to sell to new players - a probable tilt at automatic promotion from League One. Keep the faith ✊
