Will the Ram reacted to cheron85 in EFL charge Derby over ffp
Just a quick thought here - FFP was supposed to protect clubs from being exposed by renegade owners spending loads and leaving the club in rotten debts before doing a runner with none of the liability falling on them
We have an owner who is prepared to take on MORE financial liability (ie, buying the ground and leasing back to us) and continually complains he can't put more of his own money in - And the EFL are going out of their way by (it seems) questioning decisions they ratified previously
In the same season Bolton nearly drop out of the football league and Bury actually do - Both clubs which (as far as I'm aware) complied with FFP regulations
Doesn't that seem a bit odd?
I mean people keep talking about us 'breaching the spirit of FFP' with the ground sale - But the rule was to try and stop teams going bankrupt because of what owners had done - Which the EFL have singularly failed to do for Bolton and Bury - And they want to punish Morris for making himself more liable, which seems to me to be the very spirit of FFP

4 years ago today I had to have my best friend of 14 years put down... each year I convince myself it will be easier but it never is, people who don't have pets don't understand but I didn't just lose a pet, I lost my best friend, I lost a family member... I know a lot of people find it silly but I can count on one hand the amount of humans I've loved more than her. RIP Anya the rest of today will be hard just like it is every year and probably always will be.

Both the Leicester and Southampton ties went to a replay as well so even when we’ve been drawn at home we still end up having an away match.

Just to let people know the Bet365 streaming is a tiny screen. You can zoom If you have the option on your browser (or pinch the screen on mobile/tablet). This does however affect the screen quality (e.g. pixelation).

I'll be annoyed if we deliberately chuck this one by playing a reserve team. We're miles off the play offs, what is the point in concentrating on the league? Good cup runs really lifted the team last season.

3 weeks ago we had 2 away games coming up against teams below us and arguably doing worse than us. 2 winnable games people said. But for a huge slice of luck we would’ve had 0 points and 0 goals from those 2 games. Ok we have 1 point out of 6 and 1 goal for and 4 against , from teams who have been routinely beaten by more than most this season.

So now we have 2 home games against very beatable opposition in Charlton and Barnsley. How will we do? What is acceptable? 3 points? 4 points? 6 points? Does performance matter? Should we see something different tried or is it shove Rooney on and hope? how should we judge it?

Easy to compare teams...however look at the team that Rowett got to and used in the Play off semi final:-
    1 Carson
    6 Keogh
    33 Davies
    3 Forsyth
    14 Wisdom
    44 Huddlestone
    15 Johnson
    8 Anya
    10 Lawrence
    19 Weimann
    32 Jerome.
Can you honestly say that is that much different, quality wise, to what Cocu has at his disposal?  Waghorn, Martin and Marriott certainly comparable (if not better than ) with Weiman, Anya and Jerome.  He has Wisdom but chooses not to play him. He has spent £10 million on Bielek.  He allowed Carson to leave.  Even if people are a 'Cocu in' fans, it needs to be accepted that he is massively underachieving and is not getting the best out of the players.

    Just going on facts :
We are bottom of the league based on recent performance over the last 7 games - the best guide to expected future performance Only two teams have won less games than us Only one team has scored less goals than Derby As a result we are four places off the relegation places We are currently playing lower league teams and those around us. And it is getting no better. Soon we will be playing better performing teams.
If this is not relegation form, I really don't know what is.
I really wish this wasn't the case and of course I hope this doesn't end in our relegation at the end of the season.
But to hide your head in the sand and pretend it all isn't happening is not going to turn this around and is unhelpful.
Offering bets to back up your arguments is just childish
And to base on your hopes on Rooney coming in is also unrealistic - he has been in and around the squad for some time now and no positive impact has been seen so far
If ever an attitude summed up the phrase 'sleepwalking to relegation' , yours is it unfortunately.
Please give me some facts and analysis to suggest I am wrong - I would be delighted to admit it and take your side

It is irrelevant what players Coco "wants", and what a ridiculous selection from  the current squad as to who are failures. We have seen how much better all of those can be.
Successful managers get more more out of the players they inherit than their predecessor. It took Mac a handful of games, both times. It is impossible to identify any area where Coco has improved things, save the  introduction of Knight as a genuine first team squad member.
9 points from ten games in Nov/Dec is absolutely relegation form, not to mention 2 from 5 games in December. Yet after the Forest and Preston there was some agreement progress was was being made, Lawrence in his most effective position, and Martin linking the play. This vanished when Coco changed both the formation and personnel and went cautious. Injuries are but a small part in the decline since Preston.
The manager is clueless and the football is truly dire. Get your head out of the sands, relegation beckons.

I seriously expect that, despite the injuries, our team can do better than 1 goal and point from the past 7 away games. I'd expect us to have more than 1 away win this season and I'd expect us to not have the 2nd worst attack in the league. We're not creating many chances, giving away chances easily and there's no sign of improvement. I'm all for finally having a bit of stability, but I genuinely can't see any signs that Cocu is going to turn us around. There's not a single player in this team who has improved from last season, so why does everyone suddenly expect him to go out and find signings who will fit his system and improve us. If he can't improve a single player (minus maybe Knight who only got a chance through injuries) from the 28 he's used in the league this season, is it really that smart to allow him to bring in a whole new group of players to a team already treading a fine line with FFP, when there's very little evidence he'll improve them and thus the value of them? Honestly, just think how crazy that is .... 28 players used in the league this season and minus the youngsters who weren't involved last year, no one has actually gotten better.

Our best game under Cocu was the first of the season , and we have gone backwards ever since.
His main fault is his caution - he is not a risk taker. Our couple of good performances frightened him so much he has retreated to the sterile negative displays of the last two months. There is no solution with him, his caution is inbuilt. Doubtless he can claim to have been  unlucky with events but not all his frequent team changes have been forced by the events. The players have clearly lost confidence.

Some are far too quick to write Marriott off in my opinion. He’s hardly had a consistent run of games and the supply to the strikers this season has been poor to say the least. He’s clearly the best natural finisher we have currently.

The reason he is not scoring is because the midfield is crap can’t believe we are even considering getting rid the team needs to be built around him ,it’s the other strikers we need to move on I think that Marriott and Martin is a good pairing get rid of wag horn

I was at the game and I think I must’ve been at a different match to most of the posters on here.

We played better today but I don’t think we played well. We were still poor. If that was a good performance then standards really have dropped. I think we made Reading look like a good side. Charlie Adam ran the show.
Cocu takes off the only striker we have that can hold the ball up for a defender. I get that we were down to 10 but it was negative I’d rather he’d taken Waghorn off if he was going to take a forward off.
Knight was the only positive for me (Sibley wasn’t on long enough to comment really). He had a good game. He was unlucky with the shot that hit the bar.
