I totally agree -there is nothing I would like more than to see a man on the moon in my lifetime, and given that we did it before over 50 years it feels like a definite possibility that it could happen again. Mars though I am deeply deeply sceptical about. My prediction would be that the best we could hope for is a single manned mission where those who set foot on Mars die as martyrs to the cause (even Space Karen has admitted that this is an inevitability)

There will never be a human colony on Mars. No matter how much we all like to dream about it, Just my opinion. obviously as a realist who understands science and not some weird cult-member deifying Elon Musk as our "saviour". It's all so obviously smoke and mirrors that I feel very sorry for those who have fallen for him. Completely laughable and embarrassing behaviour for a grown-up. That's all.

OK - let's just stick to the watching rockets explode

An oxymoron followed by a a childish comment followed by a claim of anyone following the amazing achievements of Space X is some sort of Elon fan boi/cult member/doesn't understand science/gullible.

Completely laughable and embarrassing. Let's stick to posting in other threads so you don't ruin this one?

Angry at his comment ‘we can’t just expect to rock up to Stevenage and win’ (paraphrasing).

We just expect us to play a bit of decent football ffs.

We should just turn up and win, though. We're Derby County. And if we don't win, we should have at least played some good football and then have to applaud Steveage for playing out of their skins to beat us, or applaud the manager for doing a tactical job on us. Because that's what it should take to beat us.

At the moment, I expect any home team to just turn up and beat us. It's a disgrace.

  3. I'm not a fan of the old 'What you sayin' now I've scored a goal against Exeter. Yes, Exeter. At home. That puts us level with Lincoln and just behind Stevenage' hand motion to the ear celebration.

It's like me walking into the house, stabbing a fork into the film of a Chicken Curry microwaveable meal several times,  not bothering to stir half way through the 6 alloted minutes and then turning round to the Mrs, who's been banging on at me to do more cooking for the last 11 years, and giving the same celebration.

    It's exactly the same thing.

    Where’s the money gone?

On all the signing-on fees for all the free agents we have signed, agents fees and wages to attract them over other clubs.

We need 3 players, like Warne stated. So there is still money in the pot, it's just how Warne chooses to use it now that's up for debate.

If I was Warne, I'd be more tempted to go for a few loan fees after seeing what's available on frees.

Tbh I’m worried about the real lack of creativity in midfield …don’t see any of our current players playing those defence-splitting passes…

Most of our goals are going to come from crosses and the rest mainly from a high press and capitalising on mistakes it creates - as well as from set pieces we win.

I don't think defence-splitting passes will be much of a feature, imo.

Some of the language stated there is being used by people in our current government to promote the proposed assylum policy.

Where are those statements with those words being used to promote the new asylum policy?

100 million people...and they are heading our way

    Invasion...swarm

    Letterboxes

    Piccaninnies and watermelon smiles

The campaign poster with the long line of people which was very similar to a Nazi one

Is this the language used in the new government asylum policy?

Note Bristol Rovers are not talking to the BBC today. Wonder if other clubs will be doing the same?

I don't think Gary should have been asked to step back. But I will leave that to the employment tribunals and lawyers.

However, what a joke that a football club refuses to use a service that many fans will rely on for their bit of escapism this weekend.

I wonder if they go through all their sponsors with the same morale compass.

    Wow

We really are in a culture war.

It's all about taking sides and using any justification to take a side

We all need self-awareness lessons. This thread is great at that.

We've got cancel culture being slammed from both sides when it suits, people defending tax evasion when it suits, people defending slightly offensive language being changed In books, then defending the opposite in Tweets when it suits.

The hypocrisy and lack of self-awareness from most people, including myself, is astounding. And we all say it with such conviction whilst being dicks to each other.

    Ah well.

I object to the term right wing being thrown around as an insult hinting unashamedly at far right , as a nod to that I have looked at how the term woke is now being used in the same way and don’t use it any more , I don’t feel the need to insult , dismiss or close others down , perhaps some need to cling to these words as a safety blanket even though they are pretty much worthless now

If you disagree with a certain someone today, you're hand in hand with the far-right and Covid deniers.

It's designed to stop you feeling you can express an opinion. It was done in this thread.

I believe that the largest single group of any nationality among the new migrant Nurses at the Derby Royal is Phillipino - very good workers and, more importantly for the government, not militant and less likely to complain or go on strike. They need the money to send home to help their families and even the loss of one day's pay hits them hard, hence their compliance. I think that the government would be happy if the majority of British Doctors and Nurses were replaced by foreign staff. So much easier to bring to heel.

I don't think extrapolating from your experience of filling two houses is totally convincing, but it's interesting that the Brexit promises of more opportunity for British workers and better wages once a bar was put on the importation of cheaper EU labour has turned out to be the steaming puddle of arse-gravy that many of us knew it was at the time.

Well you obviously can't read. 2 x houses equals 12 nurses....on 2 week rotations for I'd say 40 weeks of the year. Gaps in between for deep cleaning and holiday periods etc.

So that's 20 x 12 = 240. And we are the overflow in a tiny town. I sont even know if we are the only overflow site in this town. The main bulk of the housing is on hospital grounds - you know, those things every single town has - and  i dont have those numbers. If you think 1200 positions cannot be filled, then I think you're deluded.

Brexit was never about skilled workers, as you know...and we can't have that debate.

Your stereotypical views are disgusting too. Compliance? Who the hell are you to state that?
