Haha so if you’re questioning whether it was a legit conversation it was …I’ve been involved in football coaching many years and when a friend of mine picked this chap up I was introduced in the car and I mentioned I was a Derby fan and it was me who brought Rosenior up …just got back from coaching in Ireland …so chatty yes…why not …no secret in it

I’ve mentioned this before but I spoke to one of the fa assessors regarding Rosenior and at the time I was very dubious about him as assistant like some on here I wondered if he had any input
I was told by the assessor himself that …Rosenior was one of the brightest most innovative young coaches he’d seen and said he’d go on to be a great coach and maybe manager …it changed my mind about him and he should’ve been given until the end of the season as minimum ….instead we have archaeic Warne ball percentage basketball end to end no midfield garbage

They haven’t spent anymore than most teams. He is doing very well.

But Hull weren’t favourites for promotion and he has taken them from a relegation battle to be play off contenders. Not doing bad young ‘Caretaker’ Liam 😉

Bit hard when we'd given him the boot. Warne also failed to get us into the playoffs.
All this talk about Warne Vs Rosenior is absolutely daft. It's so absolutely irrelevant to what's going to happen to us going forward as a club. Liam does appear to be a bit like that one ex that people can't seem to get over.
Not that anyone cares, but i think Warne has done enough to at least carry on til the end of the season. Let's hope he can start getting a tune out of us again over the next few weeks.

...and I don't understand your desire to embellish the job he's doing while using 'cautionary tales' as a distraction.
The expectation from inside and outside the club is that we're challenging for the top two, but the way you talk it would be acceptable / understandable if we were 12th.
The failure of other teams to do what they're supposed to is not our business. The relegated teams have their own s*** to sort out, we've got a year's preparation / 'progress' on them.
I know the league is weaker this year because I watch our games and see the quality of opposition, I see how poorly we can play and get away with it simply due to having just two or three players who can pull out that little bit of class every now and then, while the opposition broadly fail to capitalise on our mistakes.

Who said anything about it being an irretrievable disaster?

We reckoned that the Cheltenham number 8 must have a horrible disease - it was the only explanation we could come up with to explain why none of the Derby players wanted to get within 20 yards of him for the whole first half….

Every team has injuries and missing starters and players that need a breather. It's league one. We actually have a deeper squad than most. Not really a valid excuse is it? Everyone accepts that it's better to win the games, but the manner of performances are genuinely troubling. And it isn't a one off. Everyone can understand a one off bad game, but it's becoming a pattern now.

That 'results only' approach is simply not sustainable over the last 17 games. We have to improve our performance levels dramatically or we are going to be punished by the better sides & miss out again. We've just had 2 matches in the past 5 days being outplayed by two teams in the bottom 4, it shouldn't just be glossed over.
No one expects 8/10 performances every week & we will have to win ugly at points but these performances are becoming a recurring habit. The lack of control in games is fundamental to this point..until we can impose ourselves in midfield & whilst we are so cavalier in turning over the ball, we will continue to be vulnerable.
We got out of jail today, make no mistake.

I couldn't agree more with this. There was not one supporter saying that Sibley's challenge should have been a penalty on here (despite some posters constantly wanting to put the boot in on our own players) yet Warne made a big issue of it, not once but twice,  on the RD interview.
No credit either about how much better we looked when we had a midfield - Max in that more familiar role did more in the last 30 minutes than Hourihane has done in several games now.
I thought Collins worked hard and was pleased he got a superb goal for the winner, because he never gives up despite the way we play.

I'll drop my opinions about Warne and how garbage the performance was for 70 minutes of that match.
Collo's goal was superb. He had zero service the entire game, ran his nuts into the ground yet again. One good cross and he got that brilliant volley in. What a player. I thought he'd be a broken man by now with that constant chasing down and battling. He got his rewards. Superb striker.

In what way is a game at home against a relegation zone side an "awkard fixture"? That should be as close to a banker as they get. Yes we came back, but we were absolutely foul for large swathes of the game to get ourselves in that position. It's not about picture perfect performances, no, but our win today was completely unsustainable. We scored two absolute screamers, most times we lose that game.
So yes, we scraped by today but it's nowhere near good enough.

If you aren't going to matches every week and just checking the scores then yes results are all that matter.
For people with season tickets and/or regular away supporters it's bloody hard work watching this teams performances for the majority of games.

I'm guessing you didn't watch it since you state "It sounds like Cheltenham made it very difficult..."
If you had actually watched it, I doubt you would be "thrilled". Anyone thrilled with watching that game needs to check in to the nearest psychiatric unit.

If Warne can’t see the issue Hourihane causes after that then he never will. Now is the time to make the change. Drop him. We need energy and movement.

Without distracting with half time booers, Hourihane jeers and twitter idiots, are we OK to criticise that performance on here without being slagged off?

Both goals excellent. Credit to Warne for changing things and changing the game but he really, really, really needs to address the midfield problems we are having.

We are so poor in the middle of the park. I feel like a broken record, the midfield balance doesn't work and we can't control games as a result. We aren't set up to help the players in there, and we're suffering as a result.
Personally, it looks like we're running out of ideas. We are just winning from superior quality at the moment in key moments, and not based on game plans. I'm quite concerned about our performances.

Dont know where to start with that. Terrible first half snd start of second. Excellent free kick from Max after poor first half. Big big difference in mood and impact after the subs especially from Max - like a different player. Bradley really calmed things down. Amazing goal from Collins. Their number 6 dirtiest player have seen off ball for very long time.  Pleased that Curtis got the respectful goodby he deserved - take note Mason Bennett.

Now my rant. OK sibs wasnt perfect but he did well for whole match not in his position rather just 20 minutes towards the end as some did. Warne really annoyed me (for a change) in post-match interview - couldnt just say he stepped in and did well - had to have a go few times about a penalty like the time he said he was worst tackler in the squad. And some on here ask what has happened to Sibley - would say those sort of comments on a daily basis are probably what's happened. Like those little comments he used to make always about Didzy. Tommo back plays ok then back on bench. Fornah made good start at club then disappeared. Wildsmith - what's happened there? He's all about certain players like Collo, CH and plays games withe rest. I dont buy the jovial PW act - I think he plays mind games to get the best out of players but actually comes across as snarky and nasty. And will never get best out of people.  If he's like that in public.....
if he starts CH next match says everything about him as a manager

Very disappointing performance. I'm not going to rage against PW or be wise after the event but of our three CM's was Thompson really the one to come off first? He offers more mobility than the other two and possibly more of a goal threat too given his energy levels.
I would have put Robinson in at DM with the ever-underwhelming Hourihane making way for him. Easy for me to sit here playing pretend manager but I honestly don't think we're bound for the automatic spots and if we made the playoff final the thought of Bird and Hourihane as a duo on that big Wembley pitch is a serious concern.
We couldn't ask for a better bounce-back opportunity than a home match against a relegation threatened side but Cheltenham are much improved in fairness.
On a positive note, Callum Elder was a deserved Rams' MOTM and he's improving with regular games.
