I think our fanbases vision on how we like to see our football still comes from (a little loosely) Brian Clough and the legacy he left and ultimately we still hold those values no matter what league we are in
Keep it on the floor, Not cheating, Winners mentality, buying into hid footballing philosophy etc etc
Crazy how his legacy still leaves a mark on the club and the supporters because we have seen how it "could be" why would we want anything else
I think Brian was definitely in the camp of "work smarter, not harder" and maybe that's why we as derby fans have not taken to Warne very well
Probably more reminiscent of a dirty Leeds Don Revie team, is more the model of Paul's ideal team, big brute kicking people off the ball and grinding out wins

I thought it was tactical to have as few shots on target as is reasonably possible in a first half then let the opponents have the ball for half an hour then go kick and rush right at the end of games or so the 7 year old said recently near me at the games.

I have had my season ticket over 40 years so I will buy one anyway but I also buy one for my mate so not so cheap, I totally understand people deliberating about buying one when faced with travelling long distances especially if what they are watching is considered football garbage. For me this season has been interesting because for various reasons ( bereavement, Hospital stays, holidays ) I have missed 6 home fixtures and it hasn’t bothered me in the slightest compared to all the previous seasons where missing one game would be tragic.
I won’t be buying mine until the last week though

Whilst I can’t stand his style of football it was right to give him the season although his absolute scatter gun approach to signing players concerned me greatly. Yes in terms of the opposition this year certainly looked like the easiest/poorest league imaginable but remember he has 3 promotions from this league so it must have been just as poor on a least 3 occasions before.

He has a stubborn streak doesn’t he - thinking 3 centre half’s is the way to go even at home whatever it costs the team elsewhere in the selected team.
Does he have favourites? Well it seems to appear so
Does he give youngsters a chance, even in none sense cup games - not really
Does he sign players with huge recent injury records - absolutely
is he a good judge of a player ? - depends on your view point, use Bradley as an example - past 30 signed on high wages and looked not very good at all and fairly incapable of playing in a back 4 and when you compare to a Curtis Davies who played for very little for us in the past two seasons who never looked useless and positionally sound ( no surprise he is helping Cheltenham away from the relegation spots)
it's all about opinions but I think a lot of our players look as miserable as they can be weather or not they are playing or not

Mark Warburton would be my choice his Brentford team played lovely attacking football he was big part of West Ham’s coaching staff last season and think he has a point to prove …that’s why he left them as he wants to get back into management very good coach and can work on a budget

I wonder how many supporters would have selected that back four last night based on what we have seen this season with who was available?
For me the strongest and balanced back four available would have been Nyambe Nelson Cashin Sibley and yes Sibley could be a potential weak link it hasn’t really transpired that way when he has played and not to mention he can cross a ball and shoot.

Yes, this is infuriating me also - Warne seems utterly determined to keep Bradley in the side & to make our best CB move way is unfathomable. I get the sense he has a pre-determined agenda irrespective of the evidence on the park & the evidence thus far is that Bradley has at best been a disappointing signing & is lacking in a couple of key areas (technically & pace/movement). My guess is Warne seems him as his answer to Richard Wood - a relatively prolific big CB that scored plenty for Warne's Rotherham & as Warne has relatively few other tactical ploys, he is hammering this one until it works.
There are other highly questionable selections - Kane Wilson seems to be getting a free pass in this team but Barkhuizen (despite having far the superior goals/assists record) is constantly benched. I also can't understand why Liam Thompson is being underused - his form pre-injury was fantastic & even away at Oxford, he changed the game. Instead Warne seems hell bent on keeping more pedestrian midfielders in the team & then we all wonder why we're getting overrun in there. I'm also concerned about the start Blackett-Taylor has made at the club - a negligible impact so far for a marquee signing & although some may cite injury, I feel there's something going on there.
Re season ticket - I'm in a similar place. The quality of football is so far removed from what I enjoy watching, there seems little sign of progression/evolution & even the victories are so devoid of joy, it feels like a box tickling exercise. Granted I'm still fuming from last night but am increasingly questioning the wisdom of committing to 150 mile round trips every other week if this continues.

Sibley played LB regularly in a defence last season that barely conceded a chance never mind a goal.
But it’s not necessarily about him, can stick anyone who offers any sort of attacking threat there for all I care but breaking up the Nelson and Cashin partnership firstly for 3 at the back and now to shoehorn Bradley in so he doesn’t have to drop his marquee signing again, is crazy. Just no need. The back 4 last night was baffling.
