The Brighton play-off semi. The atmosphere was stupendous, like nothing before or since. It made this season’s match against Carlisle seem like a pre-season friendly. And that heel-flick by Will Hughes for the opening goal - WOW!!!

He was my first boyhood hero. I was a similar all-energy midfielder covering every blade of grass, and I was a short-ass as well. We only differed in that he could play a bit, too!

Roy Mac, absolute top bloke. One of the best footballers of his generation yet genuinely one of the nicest chaps you'll ever meet.
Darren Moore, lovely bloke, always had time to chat football even outside The Stuart Hotel on London Road after a post match meal with his missus.
Colin Boulton was laid back, relaxed, friendly, very ordinary. It never seemed to dawn on him that he was one of the best keepers in England (won the League twice), and would have won many England caps if he played in a different era. He had Gordon Banks, Ray Clemence and Peter Shilton in front of him for England.

Quite easily. It depends on the opposition
If you think we played pretty consistently to the level our squad was capable of, then just say so. (I don’t think we did !)

We started out with 6 contracted senior players after admin. How much more stripped out did we need to be for you to give Warne any kudos?
The re-build is a credit to both Rosenior and Warne, end of. Very few teams that drop to L1 escape as quickly as we have and almost none post-administration. I'm proud of that, irrespective of how much you try to belittle it.

Hourihane was our top earner last season on £12K. Bird was said to be on 10K and Sibs on 8K. Bird has gone. Sibs is talking to the club. IMO it's not money that's the issue. I think he's looking for assurances as to where PW plans to play him. If he's not getting guarantees of AM whether that's as 1st or 2nd choice or a decent chance of regular starts at WB/LB, I think he'll look to go elsewhere to try to fulfil his potential in his favoured. Before anybody goes off on one saying nobody gets a guaranteed start, I agree. Sibs will want some sort of "guarantee" that, if he plays well, he'll get  a goodly share of appearances. If PW sees him as a squad player then he's going to try to find employ elsewhere.

He was being man marked all over the pitch in one game, so went and stood alongside their left back, taking his original marker with him.
The press said he had a “poor game”, “was never in it” etc, but everyone else had an absolute field day with the space he had created!!
Thanks for the memories “ you belligerent little scouser” (as BC once described him.

Kevin Hector. He was our postman for a few years, and lives/lived in Allestree, about a mile from me. He is a really nice guy, and happy to talk with anybody and everybody. A friend of mine lived just along the road from him, and knows him well. Apparently he lives in Spain, so whether he still has his Allestree house I don't know.
Also Brian Clough! AS I drove along Ferrers Way I had to negotiate a Mercedes SLK just stopped in the middle of the road with the driver's door open. Cloughie used to live in Ferrers Way and had simply stopped his car, got pout and was talking with his former neighbour. My wife met him in the Co-op on one occasion, and he offered to buy my middle son some sweets - he was only about 3 years old, but my wife desisted so it didn't get the las into the habit of getting sweets off strangers! And on another occasion he was stood behind an old dear at the till, in the same Co-op, and she was fiddling about trying to fish a loda of shrapnel out of her purse, and it was taking ages, so he simply paid for her whole load of shopping.

And there is the issue. It wasn’t that he had one good game and then followed it by a load of duff performances. He did nothing after his one good game because he was back on the bench, or even out of the squad. Even when we were struggling to score and Sibbers scored two, next match he was out on his backside.
Good luck, Louie. I hope you find a manager who lets you play football.
