There is a rumour that James Collins has signed for Cardiff.

    I would go:
    Brian Clough and Peter Taylor
Dave Mackay - a very, very close second, because he gave a great squad an injection of WOW!!!
    Jim Smith
Steve MClaren, until his head was turned. Then not so much

So long as it isn’t the 50 players no-one else wanted to sign.

    He isn't criticising Paul Warne!?!
He is talking about Ebou being a key player and a main reason why we were promoted!
Even when being positive there are still people who jump on the opinions of others and pick the bones out.

Donated. Let's see the little fella triumph.
It might be worth having a word with the club to see if they can help with the occasion.
    Best wishes!

Oops. Thanks for pointing that out. It means that Stevenage was the watershed, then. But we had the debacles against Crewe, Cheltenham and Northampton before that, with terrible team selections and tactics. Warne deserved criticism, big time, I believe, but not personal abuse.

Sorry , don’t like the idea of a “Quiet bit of business”. I want a massive statement signing  that can get Rams fans out of their arm chairs and down to PP to get a season ticket .

Wasn't that the game Warne said he would have booed if he was a fan? If Warne was to be sacked, after that game was arguably the best time to do it - we were 9th after 14 games. We would have had enough games and points to play for to turn it around. The failure to beat Crewe after 2 attempts rasised concerns too.
Unfortunately, when we didn't win, there wasn't much to cheer about. At least when playing more technical football there is more to justify giving a manager more time.
After Stevenage, we won the next 5 league games, followed by a draw then 4 more wins, which took us to 2 points off automatics. The management team deserved to at least see the season out to prove they could get us promotion. They succeeded and now deserve to be backed to prove they can meet the objectives in the Championship.
The excuse in the past has been along the lines of Warne being restricted to players signed by other managers limiting the style of play. Ignoring academy graduates, there will only be 4 players next season signed by other managers (Rooney, Forsyth, Mendez-Laing and Barkhuizen) and 2 of those were given new contracts by Warne. This is now Warne's squad. I think it's now fair to say the quality of play should also improve as more signings are made to compliment exactly what Warne wants. Management also deserve a bit of time to prove this is the case.
Despite a couple of my original concerns from 2022 still being in place (academy and style of play), I'm still looking forward to what Warne can deliver next season.

there have been 30 or so other true favourites over the years but I can’t really look beyond a team(s) that won Championship of England twice in four seasons when I was just starting out as a fanatical follower 🐏 ✨

I've been following Derby since Sir Brian arrived, so my top 3 would be at least 30 strong. But there is one who stands out for me above all others, although admittedly in part because of what he could have achieved. We are talking George Thorne - Gorgeous George!
Although I can speak of all those mentioned, plus Alan Hinton - there hasn't been a winger like him ever since. Virtually every corner and every free -kick  was placed on a sixpence. Beckham wasn't  in the same league. He, like Colin Todd and  Charlie George he suffered from being at his peak when the wrong England manager was in charge. So did Kevin Hector.
But George was something else, and could easily have gone on to be England captain - subject to the England manager at the time! His ability to break up play, to play the simple pass, to play defence-splitting daisy-cutters were unsurpassed. What shame that Ipswich had an absolute Goombah in defence on that day, and that George was picked to play when it did not matter one little bit that he was in the team, or that George only knew how to play at full tilt. Oh boy, what could we have been part of?

Not far off my 3 I think - I remember seeing an early Mark Wright game and being blown away, turned up on the left wing to put a great cross in, a player 30 years ahead of his time .....

I have supported the mighty Rams since the early 1960’s (Tim Ward was our manager). We have had our fair share of brilliant/poor players but I think comparatively few “bad eggs”. I am always immensely proud when I hear any of our current squad being interviewed. They all seem to be very grounded and humble young men. Paul Warne, David Clowes etc also set a very fine example for them to follow.
