  1. Two months or so ago. It was touch & go whether we had a team to watch in PP. We are basically starting again (not quite from scratch) We don't know how all these new players will gel, how injuries will pan out, even dare I say it, how good a manager Rosenior turns out to be. After all the s***e we've been through, it'll just be refreshing to turn up to PP, with no cloud hanging over us. To be just, more or less back to "normal" moaning, groaning, cheering, jumping out of the seat with joy.

Let's just embrace it, & enjoy it ?

The piece of Baseball ground turf that was in my mothers garden until 4 years ago.

I ripped it up on the last match of the 74/74 season against Carlisle. Lovingly carried it in my arms as I hitchhiked home to Norfolk, a big thanks to the drivers that gave me a lift and allowed me to drop Baseball ground dirt in their cars.

For a few years I watered it and tended to it in a pot, on leaving home my father dug part of his lawn out and planted it in there. Where it stayed until 4 years ago, when it was dug up because my father was ill and my mother to old to look after the lawn.

There's still a bit of the bbg pitch on a back lawn in Chaddesden ?

  3. I was fortunate enough to watch our second title win as a youth on the 'pop side' I'll always remember a midweek game towards the end of that season against man city, which we won 2-0 (I think) with Rioch scoring an absolute screamer! The other game that always stands out is our FA Cup quarter final victory over Newcastle...... The goals..... What a game, Charlie George, Kevin Hector, never reach those heights again, I consider myself very fortunate to have witnessed that era........ You Raaaaaaaaams!!
