  1. We’re just getting him fully match fit for Cardiff next season. He’s had a tough time there with injuries keeping him out of all of last season so I’d be surprised to see Cardiff let us have him cheap, or even going rate. They’ll know how much we want him so unless we’re had over a barrel again, I can’t see this one happening

Apparently it was Blackburns Harry Leonard who was all lined up on transfer day to boost our forward options along with Collins.

    Anyway, pinched yesterday from elsewhere.

Harry Leonard has missed the last two matches through injury which was described as a 'knock' by Eustace at the weekend.

However, the striker took to Instagram to suggest he would be out for an extended period of time.

He wrote: "Gutted to hear I'm going to be out for a while. I'll do everything to come back stronger."

Eustace revealed that the young striker has suffered  back injury but he's hopeful it won't be too serious. Leonard is still set for a number of weeks on the sidelines, though.

    ……….funny old game football.👍🐏

Shame, this could of been the absolute catalyst of a never-before-seen-scale full on forum meltdown if he'd come to us and got injured. Imagine all the reasons why his injury was Warne's fault.

Joking aside, it is a shame for the lad but i'm glad it's not happened whilst playing for us.

They have to agree to it as well, so was released I guess. Was about to sign for port vale so am hoping people temper their expectations slightly. Is not the Dwight Gayle of years ago scoring 20 a season in the championship.

hopefully does a job for us!

Interestingly, I just watched his YouTube highlights reel from 4 years ago and not a single goal was from pure speed, instead all about quickness of thought. I’m not sure what’s happened to him to reflect the recent dreadful goal scoring stats but it isn’t down to loss of pace. Hopefully the he why wall can sort it out pretty quickly.

  4. My gut feeling is that we've got zero chance of signing him permanently unless we pay through the nose (not going to happen).

I know zero about Cardiff but I'm guessing they have only let him go out on loan to prove his fitness after a couple of big injuries and he will be their first choice DM next year - unless Cardiff are blessed with a wealth of better-than-God midfielders?

  5. Sat there watching the match last night and I thought Ebou might very quickly become my favourite Derby County player of all time and then I suddenly told myself not to get carried away, I come on here and it's clear my thoughts are quite rational and reserved compared to other fans.

In all seriousness, a midfielder that can run and tackle is something we've missed for soooooo long.

Nigel’s best signing, and I’m not saying that to bait the Chris Martin fans.

Martin’s goals gave us a couple of fantastic seasons, Forsyth played his part in that team as well.

After the ACL’s and still playing his part now, not just a long service testimonial gesture is great to see. Would anyone be disappointed to see him get another year deal?

One of those players you want to see the club give him some kind of job for life.

A worthy recipient of The Guthrie Magic Sponge?

Adam Murphy - Centre mid plays as a 8/10  St Patricks Athletic - 18 years old played through all the youth ranks of ROI so far

Report says he could be as cheap as £200k but quite a few clubs inc Man City are looking at him.

We do have a good reputation with young irish players and as the report suggests probably an easier pathway.

We should do anything we can to sign this guy, we're struggling to get a 6/10 out of any of our current players

Best ever DCFC headed goal has to be Ronnie Webster's again Citeh. Ball crossed from the left to him as he steamed up from his right back position, must have run getting on 50 yards, by Alan Hinton and he directed it beautifully into the bottom left hand corner.

...and of course the greatest headed goal we've ever conceded:

I think there were more Derby fans clapping that goal than Sunderland fans

  9. Think I read they’ve got the most debt of any club, or something almost as dire. Either way, relegation could put them in real danger of “doing a Derby”

The players don't look happy. If they don't believe in the manager it's game over. Seems that's the case to me.

The players didn't look happy in the tunnel before kick-off (at home, after a 3-0 win over our most important neighbours). To use the old football cliché: the dressing room has been lost.

Who's even available if we were to get rid? Apart from Moore?

Paul Warne is an absolute shell of the man he was a year ago, he looks really broken. For a manager to say "I know a secret but I'm not telling" seems unprofessional and a weird attempt to get himself off the hook whist doing all the usual "I picked the team, it's on me" pity thing.

Tin hat time, but perhaps the rumours about Warne leaving / being sacked a few weeks ago were not completely unfounded and based on a falling out between DC and PW? The big budget/no budget thing could be a sign the pot was starting to boil over.

I'd put all of my imaginary EuroMillions winnings on Inigo Idiakez leaving Villa U21s to manage us; He seems to love us more now than I ever thought he did playing for us. Unfinished business from the Pearson era.

Person who told me about Washington & Bradley being done has told me Waghorn is done now & it was Rhodes that Warne was on about when he said the liar comment, Rhodes deal was pretty much done 2 weeks ago before 'complications'

I’ve managed to miss the interview talking about the striker messing us around - can anyone point me in the direction of it or link it please?

    1) games played - YES, more than one

2j Trophies / promotions won - BC Trophy

    3) goals scored - Yes, at least two

    4) long standing fan love - me, I love Bucko

    5) unique dreamboat performance in exceptional circumstances - that kickup/overhead turn spin thing he did once and the poleaxe of that Forest player 100 yards from the ball

@jono I’ve filled in Jake’s application form for you, please see that it’s logged, filed and his Legend certificate/badge issued immediately.

That’s the thing, if we had better then great and as always could he do a job for us in the third division - absolutely he could - would he play for a low wage and a short contract well that’s a different question - players like McGoldrick didn’t really play for the money he played for the enjoyment of it when with us which is why he’s moved on to fulfil his ambition of playing for his team Notts county. I would like to think that former successful players for us would like to come and help out - Kevin Hector immediately springs to mind.

He must be well into his seventies by now?

Huw Jenkins did us a massive favour with hindsight. The guy essentially never played again after busting both knees, even ended up in an artificial coma at one point.

It seems even the mention of a transfer to us can inspire the gypsies curse....

wow, just read his wiki entry, he's had a worse time of it than George Thorne.
